Lockout Tagout
Our animation provides an example of how the Lockout Tagout procedure can prevent injury and be life-saving in the workplace.
The procedure serves four very important purposes:
To protect the person working on the equipment;
To protect other workers in the area;
To protect the equipment; and
To serve as a communication device for all involved.
LOTO Is Required When:
Servicing or maintaining energized equipment;
Safety guards are removed or bypassed; and
Worker has to place any part of his or her body in the equipment’s point of operation.
