rickyboyz100 Scrub it with no soap but a strong scouring pad or firm bristle brush. I have media blasted some of mine and reseasoned it to stop that. You can use force just not soap. To be honest every case is different and you just develop a process over years of use.
rickyboyz100 You can use soap to clean it before you re-season it. Another trick is to never let water set it for long. Water can get trapped and next time you use it boil and crack the cast iron. Never happened to me but some of my friends...
Correction. Only 80% of Lodge is made in America. The rest is made in China. If you buy a Lodge lid stand, look at the small sticker. It says "Made in China". Call lodge and they will confirm it.

A refugee FROM the south? I'm blessed to be in Tennessee after fleeing the failed shit hole state of California. Along with thousands of other people fleeing New York, Illinois and the like for the greener pastures and freedoms that the south affords. I know nowhere is perfect but dang you couldn't pay me to leave Tennessee.
@@coreyjones7881 It's unfortunate that TN is full of extremists who can't live and let live. Being up in everyone's business and getting the latest hot gossip is as Southern as you can get. It's just annoying that the gossip had to become politicized and turned into a weapon. I miss my home and my culture, but I don't miss those people who ruined it. To your point, though: those folks from CA aren't coming there as refugees, they are coming there to buy your cheap homes and fairly priced homestead land. But with blue state money comes blue state values, so just keep an open mind when you talk to your new neighbors. I bet we have one or two more generation of True Southern before it's bred out and the South becomes just like the Midwest, but with a funnier accent.
