Lofi 12 XT: Avoid these critical mistakes or else!

I'm a huge fan of SmplTrek, so I had to get Lofi XT also. Both are great devices and I use both!

@@ShamazWorldBass Thank you for the clarification. I asked because on all the product images and reviews I’ve seen, there is no mention of it. Also, the LoFi 12 XT I have seen looks like more of a “keyboard” layout than a “drum machine” layout that I see in your video.

@@paphruk5416 no worries! I’m glad you asked. I just got the lofi, and I’m familiarizing myself with it. I’ll make sure to include some info about the saving functions. Both keyboards work essentially the same, they just are labeled differently. I’ll go into detail about that too

Heck yes! In an alternative time line I chose the Circuit Rythm instead of the Smpl Trek! It was literally a flip a coin for me lol. How are you liking it?

Hard pass on the ko2, I had it for a couple weeks used it everyday and it doesn’t offer as much as similar devices. Others have said it’s good for getting a sketch down but you’re not going to be cranking out anything at a high level in my opinion. I’m sure someone out there can work it to do some amazing things but that’s more about their own skill and ingenuity than what the device is capable of. My biggest gripe was the amount of voices or polyphony. You’ll run into voice stealing quickly and have different sounds cutting out to prioritize another. Also the memory good lord 64mb is ridiculous and you need to use their website tool to change samples otherwise you have to delete and sample into the bank again. Also the KO2 doesn’t have resampling which is wild. The smpltrk, novation, polyend tracker, dirtywave m8, sp-404 are all way more capable hand held devices. Even apps on an iPad can do as much or more. You can get koala sampler in IOS and be able to do almost everything the KO 2 can. All that to be said with the final issue that the KO2 has hardware issues, fader not working, speaker failing, etc. Invest your money on a company that delivers a solid product brotha. I returned the KO2 for an Arturia Microfreak, and having been exploring the M8 headless, koala sampler and the smpltrk. Way better workflows. I won’t deny the KO2 looks cool though 😂 probably the coolest looking device I’ve seen in a while.

I can sympathize with that. I always love minimizing the amount of gear I have, but I’m not gonna lie a second standalone unit would be amazing for jumping back and forth on live sets.

i loved the sounds it made, i wish it had a better sequencer perhaps with multiple tracks, they kinda added that with the looper, but it was exclusive to the new one, along with several fx. so i sold it, and am hoping their "limeted run" really is just bs and i can purchase in the future, or evenmore ideally they make an actual elz2 with a real keyboard i would purchase that. overall i loved the sounds, but did not realy enjoy playing it, and since there is only midi through usb i never really messed around with that either. @@ShamazWorldBass

Hopefully some of these features would be available as firmware update to smpltrack
