Building the open shelving for the kitchen, getting the cabin ready for some special guests. A hunting trip with a good buddy. Not much hunting action, but a lot of camp cooking! @natureartgirl
How lovely to have your first guests @ The Cabin - and that they were family makes it really special. The finishing touches are just lovely to see. Well done to you both again for sharing your life, work, relationship and fun. I could almost smeall that stuff cooking!
I liked that how she made you look, I got a chuckle out of that. The friendly banter between you two is enjoyable. Thank you very much for sharing a part of your life. Great video
Every single video just amazes me !! I think this log cabin is the best log cabin build on RU-vid. Every single video is so thought out and to the detail !! It would be hard to show me a log cabin the same size as this one that is built better🤔🤔. And as I said before it’s narrated so perfect that it’s like a beautiful love story ❤❤. If this place ever goes up for sale I sure hope I know about it and have a chance to buy it. However I would only be buying the log cabin because you just can’t buy a love story like there’s. I would say God bless you but I think God already blessed you both 🙏🙏☺️. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this log cabin build with us who watch it !! ❤️🥂😎🤗
There is some old trick helping to screwing long self taping screws with a little power: you can drill the hole in the detail a little smaller than diameter of the screw. Or take that green soap from the bathroom and rub this dry piece of soap the screw by it length so, that taped part of the screw will get some soap between the treads and then screw it up. Try it and will feel that it requires much less power to do this. Thanks for the video and have a nice weekend!
The cabin urns out nicer and nicer - congrats to the both of you! Lovely to see your first party on the porches! Of course it's annoying, when it rains all day long, when you want to have time outdoors, but I'm pretty sure we should really be happy about any falling raindrop nowadays - we don't know how long this will be so ....! Here in Germany the lack of rain water is alarmingly less - especially since this extremely hot summer in 2018. So, don't worry about the rain, but be happy that it fslls! 😉🦊
G’day Y’all. What a fantastic job and a truly awesome cabin. 🙌🏻🙌🏻If I ever manage to get back to the States I will check see if there’s a vacancy to be able to fulfill a bucket list adventure. 🥰Jan from Down Under 🇦🇺💕
Lance...On those huge screws....rub the treads up and down on a soap bar ...less manual force...saves lots of wasted energy....Great project...Great work...A good man!!! ( I used to use ivory soap...any bar will do )
Lance, when you're drilling in those extra long screws, give them a good rubbing with either, a bar of soap, or some bees wax, and they should go in a lot easier for you.
Hello you two! Good and accurate work, as I see here👍. Lance, you're lucky Cinda pushes the back of the screw. That gives a few Newton meters more thrust, ha ha 👌. And now comes a carpenter joke. Two carpenters meet and one says to the other. Lately I can hold the water scale on it as often as I want, it always shows something different. What's going on? Then the other one says to him, I already had that problem. You just have to replace the counterweights of the scale and have them readjusted, then it will work as before👌. Best regards from Hans and Cheers 🍻🇦🇹.
😂😂Right! We have fought fires together for years. She’s always been a good backup. You must be a carpenter to have so many carpenter jokes up your sleeve😂😂👍🍺😂🍺
Good idea on the screws! We have done that before, but we were working late and neither of us even thought of it!😂we haven’t done a video on the Jeep. That was another project we just made up as we went along and had no clue if it would work😁
Sorry, but y'all have been adopted! Maw and Paw Paw! All I want to do is sit by the fire and listen to the stories y'all would tell! The experiences, the trial and error, the lucky guesses, the TRUTH of it all. THE RECIPES!!
Thank you! The tool is called an Adjustable Contour Gauge. They aren’t very expensive and can be used for all kinds of projects. We got that one on Amazon. 😊👍
I like your cabin overall but I’m not a big fan of the huge deck to the left of the cabin. It just seems to lessen the great overall look of a cozy cabin? I thought that the front deck would have been enough.
@@natureartgirl Fair Enough! But could one add something to even just the deck edge - cut log or something to better integrate the deck’s appearance with the cabin? Or even a very light log supported - very open elevated framework around the deck’s perimeter ? Just something to soften and integrate the deck with the very nicely done cabin? But I know, opinion about appearance is in the eye of the beholder… Regards
Good ideas Ed. We are going to do a fair amount of landscaping around the deck and cabin in the next couple of weeks. We hope that will tie it into the natural surroundings. We will see how it goes. Thanks for the ideas!😊👍
@@natureartgirl Any “ landscaping” in Calgary this time of year would probably have to involve snow! Glad that it’s still warm enough where you are to work comfortably outside! Your cabin looks like it will be a wonderful retreat for both of you and of course your puppies 🐾
