All you have to do is remember that logb(b^y)=y and so loge(e^x)=x

no transformations needed though just use the laws of Logarithms or whatever they're called. logarithms of number with exponents is just the exponent times the logarithms of the base or ln(a^x)=xln(a) then Logarithms of similar bases ln(e)=1 log(10)=1 log base 2 (2)=1

Or you could just note than ln(e^2) is, in fact, 2 from the definition of what a logarithm is...

I would just bring the exponent out in front so you have 2 x ln(e) which is 2

you have to remember that the answer should be in the format of m/n, the exponent of e divided by the base's power.

I think he means since e^2 has the exponent written on it, the answer should be the exponent and therefore x=2.
