New DM here, I've been watching all your vids on this campaign. This is much appreciated! I got four players to DM, and I'm trying to build a solid backstory for each, without these things overshadowing the main point of this campaign, which is the dragon and/or Talos. It's tough but really fun and rewarding to tie all these things together!
LOVE to hear that we can help out! If you ever want to chat with us or ask specific questions, please feel free! If you check out our linktree, you’ll see a discord link too. That’s a great place to connect as well 😊
Hey Jake, I‘m Tom, I‘m running Dragon of Icespire Peak as a DM. I‘m really enjoying your campaign, your group with Josh, Izzi and Michael is very nice. As I watch 2 year old videos I hope you’re still all together. :-) Also your DM-Tips are really helpful. My group is brand new, we‘re just beginning. While I have played and DM‘d about 25 years ago, my 3 players are completely new, so we learn together. So thanks for all your work and have a nice day-or-night-or-whatever the time is.
Ahhh thank you! We are all still playing D&D together and added our friend Evan into the mix as well! We have that playlist on the channel (Ancient Relics & Hokey Religions) as well as many other DM tips (2 years old and newer ;-) that help give some insight into how we approach things. It's very rewarding to know when this effort helps someone out! This game is precious and helps bring people together in such a cool way. We love hearing about other games so if you ever feel inclined to share how your game is going, please do!
In one of my current groups we started with Lost Mine of Phandelver. What I have done is just use some of the missions from Dragon of Icespire Peak to supplement in. Giving my players more places to go and things to do a bit more sandbox-ish. Just an idea
First things first, thank you for making this series. As a first-time DM these videos have helped me immensely to be prepared for our adventures. My group is going to be coming up on this quest in a session or two and after watching your take on this quest, the only thing that is coming to mind is running it almost like the creatures from Tremors. I think it will be a blast watching the party try to avoid alerting the burrowing ankheg
So happy to be of help with your first run as a DM! And that’s an EXCELLENT take on how to use the ankhegs. You can have a lot of fun and create so much tension!
