What areas of Ga do you operate in? My dad, James Darbyshire is a forester. He primarily sells in southwest Georgia.

Thank you loggers for the paper products that you're trees make and yes they usually do plant new trees back

The loggers don't plant trees! That's usually left up to the landowner!

Usually plant, but most of time you can get good hardwood pine mix natural regeneration in west gulf coastal plain. May lose a little revenue, but better for wildlife and with the way prices are for hardwoods bringing better$/ton, but slower biological growth. Every site is different, but I’ve managed several Clear cut tracts with natural regeneration and or seed tree cuts.

Christopher Adkins let me give you some advice son. If you wanna do logging, go ahead but it don’t make much and it’s hard work so I suggest that you go get an education in somthing first and log a little while your in college. You don’t wanna end up barely getting by without a backup.

These are bound for a pulpwood mill to be chipped up. From there they are sent to a paper mill.

If the land is owned by a paper company, or timber investment firm, or fed gov't (USFS) then they will replant with more pines. That's their business. If the land is privately owned, it's up to the owner to decide if they want to pay the cost to replant their land, or let it reforest naturally.

The large majority of the Southeast (Including GA) is Loblolly pine dominate for commercial use. This species also grows the fastest if you choose a seed carrier that has good genetics (prices will vary based on genetic type). From the looks of this operation, it is pulp based on the size of the trees. Likely to be used for pulp material like paper, or chips. Hope this helps. (info from a forester- being myself)

In this case, it's all pulp wood sized trees, to be used for paper diaper lining and are being taken to the Weyerhaeuser paper mill in Oglethorpe, GA. This paper mill has since been sold to International Paper Co.
