Great Buck Terry!!! Next you need to kill a 200+ so's you can show Mark he ain't the only one in the family in the 200 club! God Bless you and yer's bud!
Great deer Terry! Your patience and control when a monster buck is so close, and then to hold off until he is perfectly broadside is unbelievable! So impressive!!
Thanks to everybody for watching Deerseason 22 and all the positive comments!! It sure was a fun journey to be a small part of, big deer like Double Stickers sure are special!
Beautiful buck. The footage you got of him coming out of the woods in your first encounter was breathtaking. Your mom is a beast - my mom is ONLY 87 years old and bow hunts with a 40 pound Bear Apprentice II. I am heading to Minnesota to bow hunt with her from 25 OCT to 4 NOV. Congratulations on a fine deer.
CONGRATS, Terry !!! Makes me so happy to see you successful, Thanks for making such amazing hunting & outdoor info videos for so many years, truly enjoy Drury Outdoors!!! God Bless you & your family !!!

Everybody's got to love Terry he gets out there and grinds he works his ass off when food plots and clearance and making things right for the deer and he puts on a good deer hunt for anyone that hunts on his properties but you know what if Terry goes out and sets out on a mission he's doing it with total 100% sincerity and you know what brother bow hunters and brother hunters for deer he's being sincere he's extremely admired
Love when there's years of history and recon. WTG TERRY!!! I Think double forks is almost bigger as a 4 1/2. Hopefully he'll make it through till 2023-24 and you'll write the story on him in a year or 2
You guys already know that, habitat is TGE most important key, to holding deer. That select cutting of your woods, will prove to AMAZING, in tge years to come. I can't wait to see what comes about, here.
Randy Loker, thanks a million man! First for taking the time to watch the episode in the first place and second for the kind words, we really appreciate the support. The future is bright no doubt and we can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds. Hopefully you've enjoyed the Deer Season '22 series so far!
Tyler Joseph, you're not wrong on both accounts! We couldn't be happier for Terry and look forward to seeing if the Forks buck might make an appearance in a future Deer Season episode some day! Have a great rest of your evening and best of luck the next time you hit the woods man.

Drew Morris, the season just continues to produce memory after memory for the whole team! Best of luck to you guys the next time you hit the woods and thank you so much for taking the time to watch the episode, we really appreciate you guys.
Great job Terry. I have been trying to kind of follow your lead when it comes to food plot architecture. Has payed off great hope you keep videos coming.
Nice deer consider a fixed blade broadhead! I’m sure y’all have sponsors for whatever you shoot but I’ve been shooting qad exodus for a few years and shot several deer and never haven’t had a pass through. I’ve also had rotator cuff surgery and had to lower the lbs on my bow. Thats part of the reason I’ve changed along with not having good penetration with mechanicals. Just my opinion 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Hi Jarin, thanks for watching! We planted just a standard pasture mix. Our goal was to get something pretty quickly growing to provide root structure to stabilize the soil and reduce erosion. It also provides some bedding. This summer and fall more broadleafs and natives have started to fill in and shade over some of the grasses where we haven’t mowed lanes!
Good for you brother, I'm glad you recognize the good Lord. First!! Yep without Jesus none of this is possible. Hope to have good success myself during deer season. We have a Target buck. But either way God is blessed you and me
Terry Turk, thank you for the kind words! We couldn't be happier for brother Terry and Forrest on getting that awesome buck. Have a great evening and again, thank you for taking the time to watch the episode.
You know the deer don't always read the script, sometimes they write them!! 🌴🌹🌴 Wish I could still go hunting, but my knees are shot. And No, I'm not having surgery. I'm a Disabled Veteran & there's no one out here that can help me to go hunting. Makes me sad yeah. And sadly, no deer meat either. I've been watching Drury hunting videos and dvd's for 15 of those 22 seasons now I even used to pay for my ex-husbands' hunt club dues!!! Now, I can't walk very far at 66yrs old, so going into" Academy Sports" to get some dvd's is another no no for me!! Ain't that a blip?? Love you Guys, 🌴🌹 🦌🦌🌳
Hey Terry been watching you for years. I am a Missouri boy myself (moved to Texas) but hunt Kansas. Concerning trees, you should have called a good certified arborist. With the stress of drought bringing in heavy machinery is not recommended. Trees do not respond to any stress factor/damage over night. Many factors will determine how fast a tree declines. Not all trees will decline to the point of death but may still need to be removed. What you have done is going to impact the health of the surrounding trees for years to come, much more than the drought. Tree preservation means to stay away from the negatives and do the positives. The forest is much more than a standing group of trees. Trees have grown where they are because they have adapted to sun exposure, land contour, water drainage, elevation/grade of soil and more. When any of these factors change stress factors are introduced. Inadvertently tree decline/mortality is going to increase for years to come. The trees along the created clearings have root damage that cannot be fixed. Soil compaction from the heavy machinery reduces water absorption and chases out pore space (air space). Grade change ether covered surface roots (feeder roots) or cut roots. The decomposed material on the forest floor being removed adds to the drought effects. The root flares on the trees were severely damaged. Trees that had their mainstems shaded are now exposed to the sun. As a most avid outdoorsman I do not like to see any needless injury to trees. Weather a new house is being built, a new swimming pool install, a driveway or a clearing in the woods, the fundamentals of tree preservation is a must. Great buck!!!
I had a similar hit last year. I wanted to give it time but with property lines in play and coyotes all over, I went in after about 30 minutes and found him quickly. Luckily too! Had I given it very long, coyotes would have been all over him. Ran 2 off on the short recovery.
Amazing buck for sure. I have been lucky to take 3 bucks so far this year - all on public ground. I took my best one with a 2.3 rage chisel tip and it opens them up like you cannot believe. Question: you guys have all this expensive land, blinds, plots, and other equipment and you can't afford a burris oracle or Garmin sight? Draw when the opportunity arises. Range, and shoot. Lol at handheld rangefinders.
Love the treestand hunts! I don't think he winded you. He seemed to hear something other than you that put him on a small alert. He's to old and smart to stick around. My opinion. I have a lot of experience but not as much as Terry.
Always love it when someone says they seen the same deer 1-2-3- or even 4 and 5 years later. Hahaha theres no way to tell one deer from the other. Their antler mass can chance each year in a major way ! I see lots of deer in my area. Never see the same deer twice.( that is from year to year ) . They are " deer " and thats about the extent of it.
Also what’s that say about your set up!! You shot him back and the hardest thing you could have hit is the rib. I’m not bashing what poundage you shoot or what broadhead you use , I just encourage you to adjust your setup so you do get better penetration. I bet that new mathews is sweet though
Smalls, first off thank you man for taking the time to watch the episode this evening! We really appreciate the support and on the topic of your question, I will reach out to Terry and see if we can't get you an answer on that red eyelet bolt. Have a great rest of your evening and good luck the next time you hit the woods!
What a hog and congrats! The results from logging were no fluke and most likely the reason "double stickers" made that his primary comfort zone where as he didn't previously. Deer do NOT associate danger with logging. They will actually gravitate to the tree tops, new growth, and overturned soils, as well as the destruction that goes along with logging. That destruction provides extra cover and safety from predators. Personally, I don't think manicuring and cleaning up the logging operation was the best call, especially since you were already nervous about the intrusion on the property. Deer, especially the mature ones don't have an eye for pretty landscape, they prefer it to be gnarly and ugly. Providing that extra green forage was the topper however. Strategically cutting that wildlife access trail leading into the plot/kill zone was also smart as that will help funnel them into you properly. My two cents, from an amateur. Point being, you should consider routine selective harvests in conjunction with your normal hunting management plan as I know this will help keep the deer where you want them.
I failed to recover a doe a few seasons ago using mechanical broad heads.... I now shoot a Montec G5 CS and couldn’t be happier!!!! I just don’t have the faith in mechanical broad heads....
Center mass shot, brand new state of the art bow and zero penetration, that my friend is why you shoot heavy arrows. Speed means nothing when you’re shooting toothpicks
I'm very confused why you wanted a "park like setting" in your deer woods and why you'd seed grass of all things unless, was this just on the road system?
We planted a grass mix for the roadways and also throughout the logging project because its fast growing and we wanted to get the soil stabilized with some root structure. This summer a lot of native planted started to take over the areas where we haven’t mowed lanes. Thanks for watching and good luck this season!
