You can sell wood, the sell point you had the log laying on is the sell point. You just need to go over to the exclamation point and hit R to sell, it doesn't auto accept logs like in FS19.

Pretty late to the game here but the log chain is actually pretty interesting in real life. We have one on our farm for pulling trees out of the woods. The chain that you hook up actually goes out many meters and you can hook up multiple trees to it. The 'blade' on the log chain is lowered and acts as a wedge on the ground to pull logs out of hard to reach areas. It allows you to pull up to 2 or 3 trees out of an area. After you pull the logs close to the blade there are then chain links in the blade that allow for the chains to be locked into place and you can drag them out the rest of the way. In this application you could have the log chain pulling the logs out of the woods as you cut them. But I'm not sure if it works that way in game or how far the reach is. Just a tid bit of knowledge on your favorite implement!🤗🤗

So looks like we are idiots and didn't spot the trigger for the logs at the shop! Lesson learnt - does pose the question though - which has the better price - the shop or the wood burner?

Use the measuring tape mod - very easy to mark the length of your cuts.

You are suppose to be able to sell logs at the produce sell point at the shop, you just have to get out of your vehicle and goto the "!" To sell just like the saw mill

You can sell wood at the shop if you are on version 1.1.0.0. Have to activate the sell wood trigger at the second sell point. Great episode.

I’ve never done logging, but I think it would be interesting to have a map that is completely covered with trees. Making players have to start as loggers to open up some land for farming. Kinda like pioneers had to do when moving to new areas of the world in the past.

What's your plan for speed settings? Using 1x here, how many hours do you plan to 'work'' per day? Maybe its better to just play it by ear, as you two need to play together, and playing several hours per month may not be ideal. Logging is great to do when you have extra time using the rain, or winter, so consider getting dedicated logging equipment, ie a skidder - skidders in FS22 are MUCH heavier than they were in 19, and the 4.5t tracked skid steer can lift a 25m log into a trailer. Test it offline to see. However, the most imporant aspect is REPAIR - the skidder is MUCH cheaper and will have much lower operating costs than a $200k tractor. Plus you can leave it at your logging area at all times, rather than shuffling back and forth with the tractors.

There is a known issue in that square on NML where that's not possible hence the reason for doing it that way, but yes in general that is the way to do it 👍

Logging for me is more like "what could possibly go right?" without the lumberjack mod... just for de-stumping abilities. For fs19 I mean. Curious about fs22.

I notice you have problems stripping the branches off same as me, I found by running the full length even though some stay on, when you get to the end most disappear, then what's left cut easier on the way back. Only trouble with the episode is it was too short, was just getting interested and it ended.
