It is very interesting the convention that we take as scientists, "if you cannot prove something is false, then we consider it is true" this statement has written so much quantum mechanics on it. Love it.

The analogy of Rain and Cloudy Weather is far superior to explain implications. If it's raining, then it must be cloudy. aka R -> C It's not the case that it would be raining and that weather is clear. aka R -> notC is the only instance where our implication is false. break the latter down into tokens and you get *not( R and notC )*, the definition of the binary logical implication operator.

Basically the statement is always true until you are able to prove it false. The only way for you to prove it false is by trying hard for the exam but still failing. Any other scenario fails to disprove the statement so it stays true.

it's not about statement, it's about Implication , when I say if p then q, if p is false, I even don't have chanse to check, so implication don't have problem. there is so many statment we can''t prove if it's false or not but it's not true. for example take statement "god exist" can you prove that god exist or not? no off cours so does it means god exist ? no off course.

I understand it almost perfectly, I have one slight issue though. By the same reasoning is it not true to say: you can only show that p=>q is true if p is true thus in case 3 and 4 it must be false. I don't quite understand how it isn't neutral.
