Most of you have heard of XLR. But do you know what XLR is and why we us it? The Logitech Blue Sona not only is my favorite streaming mic, it also is a simple and quality XLR microphone that needs no add-in filters or software which honestly, makes it that much better for new XLR users.

Great video man. I gotta say, I really appreciated the extra information about XLR, audio interfaces, etc. Too many people skip over this kind of stuff, but I think it goes a long way. Keep it up brother!

Hey! Nice H.O.T.A.S. That's what I run! Also, thanks for the vid, I've been curious about the Blue Sona since I saw it pop up. Been using a Blue Yeti for several years, and definitely looking to upgrade to an XLR.

Hey Tyler! Another banger video thanks for the review on the Sona. What XLR interface would you recommend to pair with the Sona to get the best of out the Microhpone?

Honestly I think a Focusrite Scarlett is the best simple interface. It may not have tons of knobs or sliders or buttons but if you’re just getting started and just want clean sound, you can’t go wrong with a Scarlett.

Great informative video! For the record though, you dont have to phantom power all XLR microphones; passive dynamic mics dont need any power. The Sona uses the power because it has an integrated pre-amp wich needs to be powered.

Top review thanks, I currently have the blue yeti, and want to upgrade to a xlr mic and looking at this, I will need to buy a phantom power supply for it which is totally fine, the PS400 from behringer to power it is what i am looking at, and it will connect to my behringer 502 mixer, this should all work ok wont it, i know ill need a RCA cable to 3.5mm from the mixer to the pc

Hey Tyler, thanks for the amazing video! I was surprised when I saw the view count. You definitely deserve more recognition! Your video was incredibly helpful as I'm planning to upgrade from the Blue Yeti. Currently, I use OBS and VB-Audio Virtual Cable to adjust my audio with filters. With this new mic, can I monitor my voice in headphones, especially when I plug it into the Focusrite Scarlett? Also, is there a way to achieve a bassier sound without relying on software? Thanks!

Hey Max! Thanks so much. As far as monitoring goes- you’ll have to use a software or monitor via the Scarlett. As far as bassist sound I’d say try the Presence toggle on the bottom of the Sona. It should give you a boost in that low-mid rang which might help! Otherwise you’ll have to use post effects but the Sona sounds pretty solid as is! Give it a try.

Can it be used with Elgato WAVE XLR? How compatible are they?🙂
@XXIVCONCEPT
@XXIVCONCEPT 7 месяцев назад
I’m not sure! But any XLR audio interface should work fine. XLR is XLR. The Sona has no software tied to it so it should plug and play just fine with your WAVE.
