Love the idea of being able to use two at once - unfortunately 2016/17, though. Any chance of firmware updates?

Fellow Citizen No. What allows it to work on these iPads is part of the iPad’s hardware.

My crayon has been charging for an hour yet it is still blinking red, I have checked multiple times to make sure the charging cable is in properly

No it requires special touchscreen hardware only in iPads with Apple Pencil support because the pen applies power to the digitizer and your finger takes away from the digitizer

It will only work with ipads that have apple pencil support
