Because of "drifting null-position" i had to retighten the sensorboard under the cover on the left motor on my and a Friends G27 which uses the same mechanical design after +/- 12 Years of on and off usage. The Cover itself is just clipped onto the motor, but the board has a single screw, holding it in place. And the Sensor works on a light sensor with a lightbreaker-wheel on the shaft of the motor. How's your experience on your G25 on that? Noticed anything? If it happens, I noticed it pretty abruptly by repositioning of the zero-point of the steering axis almost at every bumpy corner if Force-Feedback is enabled.
I bought Logitech G25 the day it first came out and then I didn't have the opportunity to use it for a long time. Due to short time use, I didn't experience a situation close to the problems you mentioned. But sometimes the steering wheel repeats the diagnostic step twice and does not center it in the middle when the computer is first turned on(I'm talking about the scenario when the usb cable is constantly plugged into the computer). Then I unplug the usb cable of the steering wheel and plug it back in and it is centering without any problems. In my opinion, if you use the steering wheel (especially in high gained Force-Feedback) for a long time, the whole body is exposed to vibration as a result. Bolts at critical points on the unit need to be tightened or checked every few months.
The Motors are simple linear motors, not steppers where it could matter. So yes. It does not matter. As long as your sensor behind the cover on the left motor and your stop is mounted properly.
Was the wheel leaning a little towards the left at the end or was it just the camera angle? Also, have to done something similar to the pedals and shifter?
Thats all Logitechs typical behavior after end of diagnostic process don't worry. . ;) I've been thinking quite some time for a brake and gas vibration system similar to what is used in the Fanatec CSP pedal. I hope i will finish the project soon.Thanks.
Like a lot of people watching this I’m thinking “man I wish I could do this, but there’s no way” and “I wonder how much it would even cost if I could even find someone to do this for me”….. I have 2x G27 I love them but the pedals need cleaning
Hey there.For a 16-year-old product, I think its gears should be lubricated periodically, although not frequently.After the grease application, the life of the gears was at least extended, but of course there is not that much difference between before and after. I can only say that the noise of the gears has decreased a little.In addition, the rubbers I applied for the endstops definitely eliminate the knocking noise.Thanks.
Hey there. It doesn't have to be the same brand. You can use different brands that meet the same usage conditions(plastic/plastic-plastic/metal). It is a type of grease used in the automotive industry.
