Just your average crapple users who don't know what they're doing. Those speakers you're not recommending have near infinite equalization options, as well as virtual 5.1 surround using some fancy tech you didn't even talk about.
@tantsotis
@tantsotis 3 года назад
There's an equalizer..... And the sub goes on the floor because the speaker is downwards.

So why you didn't try to adjust equaliser?
@wche9

Sorry to hear that the G560 disappointed you. You might wanna try installing Boom 3D for Mac. It's a high quality equalizer that I use for my external speakers all the time. No distortions at all. About other speakers, if you still prefer USB audio connection, you can grab a 2nd hand Bose Companion 5. It's a little old but it has an in-built sound card which is really rare in modern speakers today. (Btw, I own a 16" MBP and these Bose, totally approve it for music, movies, gaming and dialogue. It does it job for pretty much everything.) If you don't mind going back to 3.5mm, the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 is the very best out of all compact computer speakers. Other honourable mentions include the Creative T40 Series II, Harmon Kardon Soundsticks III and Bose Companion 2 Series III. There are definitely other better options like the A5+ and Edifiers, but they are bookshelf sized which is impractical for most people. If you don't mind splashing $4000, get a pair of Devialet Phantom Reactors at 600W. They would blow you away....

Thanks so much for the tips, I'm new to the whole audio game, but so far from the speakers I've tested the 3.5mm ones seem to have an audiable hissing sound, while this USB one - poor quality aside - doesn't hiss at all so that's great. I think I'm going to try out the Edifier S880DB next - they look really good in the reviews, have you had any experience with them at all?

Logitech speakers have always been some of my favorite. They always deliver great bass and decent high frequencies. Ash and Nora, as a side note. Congratulations on 10,000 + subs. (: You've two have earned it. If you would like something better for sound. Try Logitech's "Z" line of speakers. Those are much better speakers for full range audio. That or if you have the dollars stashed away, there's always Bose.
@headsoftech
@headsoftech 4 года назад
Thanks mate, I tested out two of their Z speakers in my previous video, but I found the hissing noise to be unbearable, so I opted for these USB ones instead. But, yeah the quality isn't as good as the Logitech Z533. So I think the Edifier S880DB will be my next roll of the dice. 🤞 Which Bose speakers do you recommend by the way? I want something that doesn't hiss when nothing is playing and has better and clearer sound than my MacBook Pro.

@@headsoftech Gotcha on the Z models. I didn't know you tried em on another video. :( Bummer they didn't work. I have been using an older model of Z speakers for over 2 years now and love the sound. I have to remember to turn them down from time to time. (: This gentleman did a great video comparing the Companion 20 vs. 50 models. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-csioXYosPgk.html See what you think after listening to his review. Last note, all speakers have a little bit of hiss to them. I can hear my front theatre speakers making a little bit of noise when they are on, turned up, and not being used. It can be annoying but I usually don't turn them up that loud even when listening to music. Good luck ami.

Thanks for the suggestion mate, will check them out. The one good thing about these G560s is that there is no hiss whatsoever, I think it's down to the USB connection and the really thick cabling.

Studio Monitors ASH Studio Monitors. You are one of my favorite tech RU-vid channels and don't take this as hate it's not I want you to have the best sound possible because it will change for the better how your audio comes across on RU-vid. But the types of speakers you are looking at are not what you need. It all depends on what you are looking for and the tech you want in them. USB, BlueTooth, XLR or just Balanced ect. For video editors who want to listen to music with a clear and accurate frequency response of the audio you are listening to, look at brands like KRK, Mackie, Presonus, Yamaha, and if you are on a budget Behringer. I'm not sure who is the big online retailer for your country but if you need any help reach out to me. I have been in the Music Industry for over 20 years and I can give you some great recommendations without breaking the bank.

Thanks so much for the support mate, I think I'm going to give the Edifier S880DB a roll of the dice next, do you have any experience with them? Just want something that's better than my MBP and doesn't hiss when nothing is playing.

@@headsoftech Studio monitors are not going to have the over exaggerated bass and extra high end that a hi-fi speaker will. A studio monitor is going to have a very low noise floor where as hi-fi speakers will have a higher noise floor because of the way pro audio gear has a higher voltage level so the noise floor is reduced compared to hi-if Gear. Professional gear runs at +4dBu and consumer hifi gear is at -10dBV. So what that means is you will hear white noise (hiss) at full gain on consumer speakers first and at full volume on 2 identical speakers, one at consumer voltage and the other professional and the noise will be 11.79 dB louder on the consumer gear also in turn the noise floor will be 11.79 dB lower on professional gear. If you want a good speaker which is small for your desk and has all the connections you would want while not sounding wimpy. Look at these speakers. If you end up not liking the Edifiers. #1 Mackie CR5BT there are not only green ones but white and gold trimmed you just have to look for them so don’t let the gamer green scare you. #2 The persons Eris 4.5BT , this company is known for having great customer support and they sound great for video editing as well as music production. Person us are the Blackmagic designs of the audio world. But one last thing if you want absolutely no noise floor you are going to need a professional audio interface not a hi-fi DAC. Something like the Foucusrite 2i2 is perfect and will give you mic inputs as well for your video voiceovers. The mac’s built in converter or the digital to analog converters of hi-if gear can’t come close to the 108 dB of dynamic range of even the budget Foucusrite. So what that means is the noise floor will be heard at -108 far below human hearing drastically reducing hiss aka the noise floor. I haven’t tried the exact speaker you are talking about but I have used the Edifier R1010 but they did lack a little bit in the highs for my taste but you may like them.

Thanks for the tips again mate, the only thing I worry about with those speakers is that they don't have USB connectivity. After trying out the Logitech's hissy 3.5mm range vs their hissless USB range, my simple brain has made a connection with the 3.5mm being the culprit to the hiss sound - on Macs anyway. But I guess getting the Foucusrite 2i2 you recommended would be the requirement to fix that issue. So thanks again for the tips.
@joesalyers
@joesalyers 4 года назад
@@headsoftech The 3.5 is the culprit because it's an unbalanced connection, a true audio interface like the focusrite will reduce the noise to an inaudible level solving the problem you had with the Logitech speakers. Sure something like the focusrite is an extra cost but I have had most of my focusrite gear for over 10 years now without any issues, so it is reliable. It also gives you many more audio choices for XLR microphones or for multiple microphones for interviews or even true stereo audio. Best of luck and don't hesitate to ask if there is any way I can help.

Music Factory Studios , I agree with what you’re saying for pro audio, but if you don’t have the budget along with pro ears, it’s like paying for Monster Cables and believing it sounds better because someone told you it does. I’m curious, because you seem to have good taste, have you ever compared Mackie to Audioengine? We tried three pair of Mackie, including the CR5, and side by side, same tracks, A/B testing literally blindfolded, most everyone in my family preferred the A5 to the comparable Mackie. In fact, all the kids under 18 with their still vastly superior hearing chose it every time, and the three teenagers even preferred the A2 over the CR5, saying they felt the Mackie sounded muddy. Thoughts? If you read my post above, you’ll understand I’m not saying they’re king of the hill, just better at the price point, in our experience and pretty fair testing. Cheers.

Too bad... you made this video so late. Most youtube channels praised those speakers...so, i got them. My last way smaller logitech Sub-Woofer actually played better. I was thinking, whats wrong? Bass volume under 45Hz goes super low. So even if it does have really strong bass at some point... im kinda missing out the best part and its sounds strange with deep bass tracks.
