I have HK speakers and .... in all videos I've watched they sound terribly but IRL they are amazing : )

@@scendu hi tom im really sorry this is just my opinion but ive also owned the soundsticks and have since sold them on , i found them the be too bright and thin sounding with a total lack of mid range richness and the sub if it can be called that i found very weak and anemic quite a pathetic sound actually ,i know i may sound harsh but what im on about is say compare the sound to something like the edifier s880db for example , yes the s880db could do with a sub to compliment the lower end but the rest of the sound is beautiful, this is not so much of a comparison between the soundsticks and the s880db but more just to show how hopeless the sound from the soundsticks are , soundsticks are a beautiful form that happen to make some sort of sound , but please dont take any offence this is just my opinion for anyone that was thinking of buying the soundsticks but for those who own them and enjoy them thats great , but if you think the soundsticks sound amazing then your going to be in for a present surprise once you maybe give some other speakers a listen such as maybe some kanto yu4 or many other quality speakers on the market, thanks

I do plan to test them, but it will take a while before I will be able to do it.

@@DSAUDIOreview Which is a bit of a shame since my S730D is still my benchmark for PC audio... but a lack of space forces me to go smaller. Thanks to your channel I found that the R1280DB are just what I need. Keep it up, wonderful channel! It's amazing how good Edifier is across the board... the only real musical mainstream PC audio manufacturer.

once you get the equalizer apo program to eq it it fixes it

The G560 is a 2.1 system. How will it magically create front and center channels? Please educate us non audiophiles.

LOL, I play the video with the Harman. It is night and day between what the HK is supposed to sound like and what I can hear from the "original" source in my HK.

​@ekekdjdjdj Makskeeekdkdkkdn o yes, I am sure! I listened to it on studio monitors and with studio headphones. Just compare the sound with the original track! It is a disaster what Harman did to it! Just listen carefully! It is very far from the original. There certain annoying resonance frequencies appeared in upper mids and other artifacts. Logitech sounded ok, just like you expect from a budged speakers. Probably expected a bit more from high frequencies for the price, but the lack of tweeters results in what we are hearing here. Airy transparent highs that are capable of bringing eargasm are just not there. But at least Logitech is rather well-balanced. Harman is completely out of balance here. Probably it is the way it was recorded, I am judging only results presented here.

​@@VuHien2011 you are missing the point of the original audio. You can judge the sound only if you use big enough (at least 6") neutral monitoring speaker system. HK already strongly modifies the tone - it has very pronounced resonance frequency boosts and strong cuts at certain frequencies. So you don't hear original on your HK, you hear HK when you listen to the original. When you listen to HK example in this test on your HK, you make the boosts and cuts double in amplitude. E.g. if HK already has +6 dB on let say 3 kHz, then if you listen to the sound recorded from HK, that also has this boost, on your HK, this frequency will be boosted twice more! So in this case you are strongly magnifying all flaws of the HK system. And there is no chance for you to understand how original is supposed to sound, because HK disturbs it drastically.

@@SergeiVlassov all I can tell you is that I listen to a lot of music on my computer and the sound is not bad at all. For reference, my stereo equipment in my living room costs 10K dollars, so, it is not like I'm a perfect noob regarding music reproduction. I do not have the opportunity to listen to the Logitech but Logitech comes from the computer industry while HK comes from the stereo industry. I'd rather trust the company that comes from the music reproduction industry. Back in the 80's., I bought a CD player from HK that was based on the one bit technology while the other brands were racing for the highest number of bits with 18 bits and 20 bits digital to analog converters. Well, I can tell you that my HK CD player back then sounded way warmer than the metallic sounding competition CD players.

@@VuHien2011 good, but that does not change what I wrote at all. Double-coloration makes it impossible to use HK to judge the sound of HK in this demo. Again, maybe it is the way it was recorded, but listening on studio monitors - original sounds great, Logitech sounds uninspiring, but ok, and HK sounds terrible and unnatural (strong cut on mids, strong boost somewhere on very up-mids). I trust my ears, not the history of the company. E.g. Philips deals with audio products for decades, but all the worst audio-related equipment I ever owned were from Philips. But again and again - I haven't heard HK in real, only in this demo, and I only judge the sound that is recorded by the author of the test. Probably the system was very directional, maybe the microphone was placed in some interference spot etc. But as a result, HK IN THIS TEST sounds very cheap.
