Thanks again for an amazing video. So I use my LG smart TV with Apple TV. However, I’d like to use Alexa Voice Control to turn on the TV and open Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. Should I configure the Harmony to connect directly with the LG Smart TV or should I connect Harmony with Apple TV or should I connect it with Alexa Fire TV?
I think that's user choice if you can make it happen in the app! I no longer have my Harmony Hub so I can't tell you if you can make those connections work, but I think in general the Fire TVs gonna be a bit easier to integrate with and use.
I have an old Harmony 900 still a great control has the usual issues for it's age I would like upgrade to harmony hub with the control can I copy across my existing settings using the old Harmony 900 software without having to reload all my devices because my tv is not supported on the logitech site
I bought a new Asus router and could not get my harmony hub to see it. I eventually solved it by going into router settings and changing the 2.4 security to WPA/WPA2 -Personal.
Automate Your Life I bought mine from Newegg as a refurbished for $75. It synced with my Harmony Hub. Best remote and only remote I use. My Samsung TV, Bose sound bar, AppleTV and Sony Blue Ray remotes are out in a drawer. I don’t need my IR blasters. Hub sits to the side of my TV.
I have an Apple TV that I want to control with Harmony hub and Google Home. Is it possible to say something like “Hey Google, watch Netflix”, then have the Apple TV navigate itself to Netflix?
Yep! If you add in your Apple TV as a device (scan for wifi devices on the Add Device screen) then you'll have that all setup. From there, you'll need to connect your Harmony account and then create a shortcut to start the activity "Watch Netflix on Apple TV". It will if you set it up as an activity. You have to create the activity of watching Netflix on your Apple TV. Similar to what I do in my original Harmony Hub Setup Video with Netflix on my TV.
Hey Phil - Personally, I like having a remote included. It's a quick grab for those times I don't feel like automating everything in my life! It's also good to have if you're ever having a problem with your voice control devices. However, I don't think you need the premiere version of the remote. Great video..I have the harmony smart home package( with remote included). Not sure if it's harmony hub 2 version though. Hoping to set it up with nvidia shield tv box, samsung hdtv (not smart tv), smartthings stick and my windows 10 home built computer( which has and IR remote capability. Hope to at least be able to start up and shut down the computer at least. I also have a harmony wireless keyboard. The smartthings usb stick came with the nvidia shield.
Does this hub have to be next to my tv within its regular remote reach or I could place it next to my computer in a different room with my other hubs. Also, if I have few tvs, do I need a hub in each room? Thank you
Can I navigate through my Blu Ray features - Pandora, Amazon, input from iPod, Chrome Cast dongle with this hub? It’s so time consuming to use the BluRay remote
You can navigate through many things. Harmony Hub is mostly made for physical devices, but will also do anything that uses an IR remote. So that means if your TV has an app, Harmony can navigate it.
Hi Jerry - Go back into the Setup of your Harmony Hub in the Harmony application. Once inside setup, you'll find the ability to add favorite channels. It can differ by country and app version, but in general it's in that setup portion of your hub. Top left menu usually.
What do you mean by programming ARC though? It really isn't necessary with the Harmony Hub because it's actually sending an IR signal to your TV to switch inputs! Makes it unnecessary to worry about ARC. :)
Nice review. I've seen another review where they said that when you are on a activity and you choose to move to another activity, the hub first turn off all devices then turn them back on. Is it true? In addition I read a review from a buyer who said every Logitech or Google home update you have to reprogram the remote and activities.
Hi Gigi - This is a pretty old video at this point, but the Harmony has a few issues here and there for sure. Not every update do you have to reprogram, but it can be often enough that it's annoying and I end up using the remote more than Google. As for turning off devices, it doesn't do that for everything on switching activities. For example, it never turns off my TV, but it does turn off the secondary device like the Blu-Ray player and the PVR when switching between those.
+robert burch Thanks for watching! The Harmony works pretty well for me. Sometimes if you're having network troubles it can struggle but otherwise I really like the interface on the phone to control. Thanks for the sub too!
WHY DI I NEED A LOGITECH ACCOUNT fuuuuk i hate these manufacturers, an account for every thing i haul home... Also the Logitech forums are riddled with users saying their hub stops working when they disconnect is from the internet.... So now you need internet your turn on your tv...
