The power of this camera is the livestream multicam switching. Plus it has wireless ndi built on. Sure it's not 4k... But that's not the point. This isn't a dslr cam. It's a live streaming cam, with ndi or live switching features...and who streams at 4k?
@@crooker2 but the quality is like a potatocam....look at those colors and details look smudged and soft even though they got studio lighting. An iPhone or Samsung does better 1080p.....I get the concept, but the quality is meh
If they did 4k30 so I could use the recording for basic youtube video production then sure, the price would be okay. Was kind of hoping for a 3 camera setup that would challenge the new webcams from elgato, dji and razor. Let's not forget that if you buy this you want that 4k so you can also make high quality scrops for shorts/insta/tiktok etc... So overpriced and for a market that no longer exists.
I've been using these things for before they were Logitech. They really became highly useful when they added in NDI support as I bring them into OBS and stream out of that as I am also bringing in a laptop from the presenter and upcoming events slides on another laptop. I've gone with the ethernet adapters and POE makes powering everything so easy and I don't have to worry about Wi-Fi Except for on the controlling tablets which were cheap and finicky. I haven't toyed around with the multi cam app very much but it's come a long way in 2 years. It would be nice if they allowed controlling multiple cameras in one app. And I would love to see a second revision of these with NDI, 4K sensor and slightly wider lens like the second generation as I think that would be really good for wide shots.
For the price, they don't seem good enough in 2023. You can get name brand 4k action cameras for less than this. I get the use case is a bit different and perhaps 4k is hard to do wireless etc, but at least it should have 1" sensors instead of basically being a fancy webcam. Heck, I use Sony ZV-1 for my work zoom calls because I couldn't find a webcam that does a good enough job for my tastes.. My ZV-1 came in around $500 as well, and livestreams over USB. Not sure if you could have multiple ones on one pc though. The concept is great, but either it needs better image and sound quality for the price, or a considerably lower price.
Hey Tyler ! I also have Blue Sonas for my videos, I just bought angled XLR as well, you can actually unscrew and twist the way it’s angled to make it more tidy and aligned ;)
@@stalman I think it’s something you can do on all XLR cables but don’t quote me on that haha I was excited to get mine, plugged it and it looked like yours, I was so disappointed hahaha So I unscrewed by hand the bottom plastic part of the tip, then there was a small plate to remove which gave me access to changing the angle. Once set I just had to put the two pieces back in place, and it works. :)
like to see these in low light setting, say for music video production, indie film production ? and I imagine the audio sync function in premier pro would sync them all together for post work.
These are NOT film production cameras. They're not designed for that. They are live streaming cameras. Inexpensive, small sensor, 1080p cams. If you're producing music videos, you use much better equipment.
Well, The idea is good… however, 1080p doesn’t give good enough video quality (it should be 4K with a bigger sensor) and I still have to see how does the camera behave on a lower light condition…
For interviews like this, say, who wants to see a pair of huge mics a foot from the faces. Who wants to see mics at all? Maybe a small conference mic in the middle of the table? A pair tiny clip-ons hidden away?
Sure, you can do that if you prefer. The majority of the podcast audience are audio only, so that is my priority. A show that is more video focused could use lavs
Finally. No excuses for not putting some fancy dancing into a video. About average cost for lowest multi-cam cost but looks pretty idiot proof. Wut? You're still here. Longer retention rate than most.
I would love to see if/how this integrates into an OBS setup. We do a lot of meetings and town halls at work that this setup could benefit from IF it works with OBS. 🙏
These will seamlessly integrate with OBS over NDI. I use 5 of them in a Vmix production every week. It's best to have a dedicated WiFi router to connect them to to ensure you have proper bandwidth.
Honestly the quality vs price doesn't make sense to me; you could get a set of GoPros for less money that can record at a higher quality. It's especially stark how bad the cameras look compared to your main one. They lose sharpness, have difficulty with the lighting conditions, and only have mediocre audio quality. Not sure what the market is, here. Maybe for streaming it could work, but I don't know many streamers that are changing cameras often enough for it to be worthwhile...
The first clip with Jordan doesn't seem to have great image quality. On the phone is good but even on my 15" 1080 display, it was very grainy. The second set of videos with the woman is sharper but still a tad grainy.
As all the other comments already said: cool Idea, but image quality: horrible.... It is a 2023 camera that looks like a 50 Dollar Webcam from 2017.... The Insta 360 Link is a better solution if you want a flexible Webcam Set Up....
We have our business school using Cinamaker…it’s OK. Thus looks better, but costlier. Seems both systems are reliant upon strong Wi-Fi, which can be a downfall (or can it link up otherwise?)
"Live stream and record in stunning 1080p HD resolution with crisp, detailed imaging" This is genuinely bizarre to me. The quality isn't great, even for 1080p. The price is staggering for such run-of-the-mill webcam footage.
The quality is good enough to me. If they make it easy to setup and work with then they would be worth it. If not then not. Also if audio is on point, 95% of people don’t care if it’s in 42K extra reality quality. Lol
I applaud their efforts, but I'm disappointed with quality and price point. As others have pointed out, used cellphones might actually be a better option.
Hey, is it possible to use this camera kit to make animations, like those which are made capturing the actors' movement with various cameras positioned at different angles from the subject?
The whole things look exactly like Xiaomi and Eevo wireless cams, with a little bigger sensor. They, too, record at 1080p with type-C and sd card slots on the back for just under 100 usd. :) Logi is not evene trying. The samples look bad btw.
Do these cameras have an adjustable shutter speed? At 24FPS (as in this video) the high shutter speed makes the footage very stoccato due to the lack of motion blur.
Hmm. 30 seconds in. Sponsored by the product manufacture = this is an ad. Then, it's very obviously low quality in the brief "podcast" example, and I'm 99.99% sure that you're not using one right now, so there won't be a big "And I'm using it too!" reveal. No like.
You're also paying for the NDI capabilities. In Canada you can get these mevos for 499 or on sale for less. I use NDI a LOT so that was the selling feature of these to me. They are not film cameras.
@@stalman Idc. its still extra special crap to get them to work that is 100% unnecessary. just another online cloud account on another smart device doomed to go into the land fill because the battery wore out and the damn thing is glued and welded shut. Oh whats that? we stopped updating the app and you cant use it on that device anymore? time to buy a new one! Im so sick and tired of this overpriced disposable crap. stop promoting this crap.
It’s a bit ludicrous, you make a video about the Logitech Mevo and instead of showing us the real image of the cameras, you shoot everything on a DSLR. How are we supposed to know what the image quality looks like. For me, this ressembles more like a promotional video with some tips how to use it, than a test with all advantages and disadvantages it brings with it. A missed opportunity, I hope that you don’t get paid to make this video. Transparency is everything.
