"All of them" referencing Superman learning every language on Earth...shows his respect for humanity and his need to see the human experience through the eyes of the people he protects. THIS is the Superman story that I was waiting to see! Little lines like that. The last 2 seasons of Smallville sells a very solid relationship between them too. It's pretty much a Lois & Clark series in Metropolis. When she finds out about his secret, they were already in a relationship. @@manuel_sotelo7798 Superman & Lois is half-developed by HBO and not a part of the CW's Arrowverse, despite using the same main 2 actors. It has a bigger SFX budget and no obligations for a crossover, which I've seen make really messy CW episodes. The show creators said they wanted to start from scratch and make their own story using the actors from the CW's Arrowverse/Supergirl show, but these aren't the same Clark Kent and Lois Lane. It's a completely different multiverse story and any incidental characters popping in from other CW shows are confirmed to exist in only THIS universe. Bottom line: Superman & Lois is its own thing.

@@Animagladius Clark's debut appearance on Supergirl was the only decent cameo he had before he was made into a walking plot device dedicated to kissing Kara's ego and acting useless so Supergirl could look better. The CW did not treat Superman well until this show. Same with Lois, great performance and chemistry but they kept giving her little feminist lines like Clark getting paid more when apparently he didn't get paid overtime and she is more renowned than him but the writers couldn't resist. There clearly was something going on behind the scenes for Superman and Lois to be made this well. Personally, I think a Superman fan/producer baited the CW boss with a bet that a Superhero show made for fans would destroy their other propaganda sh*t in the ratings including Batwoman and Supergirl and the boss fell for it and gave the go-ahead. I honestly don't understand after years of the CW treating Superman like crap, they then turn around and give us a quality, well-written, well-cast, Superman show made for the fans... this 180 baffles me, though I'm not complaining.

1:05 - 1:22 I love the fact that he doesn't say the american way here because it illustrates that America isn't the moral compass that other countries and people should strive to be like, that ideal example is Superman and his humanity that he exhibits. America isn't perfect and has made plenty of mistakes itself throughout the years and I love that Superman was eventually represented to inspire people everywhere not just in the USA, which is why in the comics he eventually started saying that he stood for truth, justice and the humane way since he wanted to help bring peace to everywhere not just in America. If that was the case he would never leave the United States to help in other countries, but he does to show that no matter where you come from or what race you are, we can and should try to help each other out to bring peace and some more unity in the world. Such a small moment that has more impact than you think since Superman is meant to represent the best of humanity even though he's an alien, not just the American people.

I’ve been trying to figure out why I love this scene and this episode so much. I love that it flips what we’ve seen in other Superman adaptations - Lois loves Clark first and doesn’t care about Superman. But I think there is something deeper here - they just love each other! So many shows/rom coms have the couples fight and have misunderstandings before they reconcile, but don’t address the fact that they could treat each other that way in the first place. In this episode, we just see that they are truly in love, that they are a team - no contrived tension. Their deep connection is enough. Also, perhaps Superman is smiling so much because he’s seeing Lois at the top of her game while she’s interviewing him and he’s like “YEAH THATS MY LADY!!”
