It makes sense, no magic works in the TVA. Even the infinity stones were just useless paperweights there. So of course humans are the perfect fit to run the place.

They didn’t even bother making sure his hair matches the end of Avengers/The scene from Endgame. He goes through the portal and comes out with shorter curlier hair.
I also hate how MCU's power level are pure shit or how miserable their magic system is. Loki is a Ice giant, like Asgardians they have "inner sources" for magic, meaning Loki (without restrains, blocking his magic) shoud spam his OP abilities and being OP, yet somehow he's a 3rd rate idiot, who get clapped by everyone. Female Loki was spamming "Enchant" over and over again, why our Loki couldn't do the same (for idiots, who like Loki, I mean "Spamming HIS abilities, not Enchantment itself")
tbh havent finished it but i hope you tackle how all the building blocks to deconstruct a transform a character into another version of himself are there in the Loki series and his setting since it literally shows him his irrelevance in the multiverse infinite times
This show lost me almost in ep.1 I keep watching expecting some twist and Loki doing something amazing........................................I still waiting for that and we already got a season 2 announcement, not falling for that again, F this show.....who ever this imposter is, he is NO LOKI.

TVA Loki was taught empathy and found love and is still alive. Obviously a person is shaped by their experiences, and these Lokis clearly led vastly different lives from the moment Toni fumbled the Tesseract.
I don't think you watched the video. Just because Loki escaped with the tesseract it doesn't mean that his core character should automatically change. You're right that TVA Loki would change but at the beginning of the series he should be acting like Avengers or even Thor Loki which he is not.

In my opinion, Loki being Loki is not about Loki being Loki, it's about Loki becoming Loki developping into the Loki he becomes during Loki, thanks to a therapeuthic session of Loki watching a future Loki getting Loki's mom killed and becoming buddy-buddy with Loki's brother anyway. Furthermore, the fact that Loki end up betraying Loki is low-key the best thing about Loki : Loki doesn't trust Loki, no matter what Loki we're talking about, no matter if Loki understands Loki better and becomes a better Loki, Loki still can't trust Loki, because Loki is a trickster and can't be trusted. Loki should a dark show sprinkled with comedy, not the other way around. In the myth, he can be an awesome Allie even though he was shat on but he can be a threatening Foe/villain
You'd think that Loki, right after his defeat at the hands of the Avengers, would want to do everything in his power to avoid being imprisoned yet again, along with avoiding his death. So why the fuck would he even go near the TVA members and not just throw knives at their very vulnerable faces?

Are we gonna pretend that Loki's turn into a punching bag didn't start with Ragnajoke? The Dark World was a dull waste of time, but one thing it did that was interesting was the reveal of Loki siting on the throne and impersonating Odin. One would think that such reveal would be a good setup for a third Thor movie, where Loki is yet again the main villain. Especially considering which story the movie was (in the loosest terms) adapting, in which both in the comics and the myths Loki seeks revenge and wants to bring on the end of the world. And what we got instead was: the movie glossed over Loki's grand scheme with Odin in two seconds and from that point on made him a third wheel in the so-called ''story''. Point is, if it wasn't for that piece of sh1t movie, we would not have this nonsensical idea of Loki as some funny anti-hero.
I think that the Loki show could've really worked as an indie, sci-fi drama. But as a Marvel show with Loki as the main character, it flops, hard. Sometimes I want to like it, but I can't :(
Michael Waldron, the series showrunner (and also the hack writer of "Multiverse of Madness") clearly had no interest in acknowledging past MCU events. Like many current screenwriters in charge of long-existing IPs these days, he and the episode writers decided to use and manipulate an already established character to tell the stories THEY wanted, character continuity be damned.
For all the D+ show, this one confuses me the most BECAUSE IT'S CALLED MARVEL'S LOKI, but this guy DOES NOT look like loki, DOES NOT ACT like Loki, DOESN'T HAVE the powers of looki, DOESN'T TALK NOR HAS ANY RESEAMBLENCE with Loki, this is just TOM HIDDLESTON: The Series
The guy who wrote this show is apparently the same genius who wrote “Multiverse of Madness”, so we’re working with a hefty IQ here, huh? The word on the block is that he also didn’t watch avengers or Thor prior to making this show, because he made some jokes about Loki having super strength on Twitter while watching it. Smooth
To be fair. Sofie IS Loki, so he falls in love with a variant of himself. It would have been clever if they didn’t feel the need to spoon feed the point in the show itself.
As soon as I saw those first scenes in the show with him landing in Mongolia I was shocked he didn't send himself to Norway or even Sweden, Denmark, or Iceland.
I absolutely hated this show, and a huge part of that was its mischaracterization of Loki. It was so baffling and it infuriated me as a fan of his character. This video is a masterpiece.
The main piece of equipment that everyone has with current Marvel (including the writers) is the idiot ball. With this piece of gear, every characters action's make sense. Need Loki to forget about his powers, physiology, psychology, etc, just slap that idiot ball in his hands and watch him be the complete dunce you need him to be.
Loki in Loki always struck me as a confused then overpowered then unsettled then desperate then humbled then unsure character during the show. He didn’t firmly get his bearings until he saw his variants fighting like spoiled children. Then he changed, not in the first episode
Well this is interesting. I remember this being the same exact thing that was also done to thor where he was easily over powered by those weaker himself. Both loki and thor got mercilessly mocked.
I noticed most of those issues but I don't mind. I remember thinking, "this is great, but he stops being Loki". The reason I like it is because I believe in reincarnation and I think this is an example of the great journey we all hope to complete one day. The greatest journey of all.
I still dont understand why loki is a varient at all. granted i havent watched the show so i may be missing something but his escape was directly caused by the avengers so how is he deviating from the sacred timeline? Honestly endgames timetravel rules are just kinda fucked and loki makes this more complicated
Endgame time travel made sense. Changes make new timelines. New timelines without infinity stones just die to Thanos (and other villians) returning the stones still means seperate timelines, but close enough to the point where everything will work out. Loki the series messes this up by saying that any change to the timeline has drastic effects, except the endgame one for no reason, because new timelines create the possibility of creating new Kangs. Endgame time travel would still result in more Kangs so the show is what makes no sense, not Endgame
Thank you for reminding me that this awful series exists. But now I wonder. If Loki got TVA-ed because he took the stone he wasn´t supposed to take then how did endgame happen? They erased that timeline so it can happen the proper way right? Because there´s no way endgame could have happened the way it did if TVA exists.
he literally saw someone being desintigrated by those office worker, so it's smart when he cooperate for a moment. Also, TVA have these gadgets that made him rewind like sh*t.
Oh boy, some more quality reviews of the horrifying marvel Disney plus shows. Character assassination of once beloved characters seemed to be a running theme. If you're gonna do more, I vote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier next. It's incredible how they managed to make a character like John Walker while being blatantly hostile to him as writers, all to prop up a now monstrous Sam and Bucky.
A great, concise video. I've been working on videos about the same thing but they're... a little less concise. 😅 Love the appreciation for Thor and Avengers, the show does both those movies an extreme disservice in every way, and comparing scenes from them to scenes from Loki shows just how much they dropped the ball

We as People, as the audience really don’t understand how storytelling works. The fact that this review is demonizing a Great show with an even better season 2, is freaking moronic.
Loki wasn't supposed to be same. He was no longer under the influence of the Mind Stone, and in the TVA he lost his powers so therefore his personality would shine clearer, we learn he did have goodness inside him. Odin saw it, while no saint himself in Mythology or Marvel, did. Let's just presume his sense of humor came back. But yeah, his complete 180 from watching a few hours of videos was a bit inexplicable.
I personally think that he was the same but we just saw a different side of him that was always there that we hadn't seen before. This was just a goofy care free Loki. Great video though.
