I loved that in the first Thor, before he falls off the Bifrost, he says “I could have done it, Father. For you, for all of us" but for the wrong reasons, he just thinks "im a god, its my birthright, im super smart I could have done it" but with no understanding of what it truly means to be a god and have that power. And he falls off the end of the broken bridge into the abyss. This time he says "I know what kind of god I need to be. For you. For all of us" because he finally understands the burden of glory, and that he has to choose to be more than he is. And he willingly steps off the end of a broken bridge...and keeps walking. The first time, he let go of the staff, the only thing keeping him connected to his family and home, and he falls into nothingness. This time he holds on to everything _for_ his family and his home, and ascends to his throne. I think its _why_ they had the bridge resembled the Bifrost, so they could parallel that scene and bring it full circle. And that's just incredible.
It's a bit weird that people haven't noticed that season 2 of Loki completely erased all of season 1. And Loki had all of time, he could go back an unlimited amount of times, and couldn't figure out how to defeat Sylvie. I guess Sylvie is the most powerful character in the MCU and can never be defeated?
@@roboninja3194I think Loki couldn't defeat Sylvie because he loved her. He didn't want to kill her or hurt her in any way. Perhaps someone else will be able to defeat her?
@roboninja3194 He was trying to convince her to stop without hurting her, and going back to a point before she knew what the steaks were would entail him trying to convince her of whats going on, what will happen, and to just trust him on it and to abandon her life's purpose and let the tva continue to stamp out free will while he takes over. She didnt even trust him on that _after_ she knew. The other options would be killing her or somehow trapping her, which he didnt _want_ to do. And if he just went back and hadnt helped her get there, who knows if shed end up dead trying on her own? He was trying to help and protect his friends. Capturing, tricking, abandoning or killing them doesn't do that.
Here's the thing about opinions. They do affect someone's experience of a thing, especially when said opinion is held by many. It becomes exhausting. Like with myself, I try so hard to avoid critic reviews before watching a show or movie because their opinion will linger in my mind, and I'll essentially be anticipating moments that inform the critics' views. I honestly wish that movies would release to the entire world and critics all at the same time because y'all really be killing me with these early reviews. Lol
yeah, and that's not even an opinion, it's an actual thing that happens in our brains. With someone we held in high regard or someone lots of people hold in high regard share their thoughts you become prone to accept or wonder if you are wrong for not agreeing
@@AntonioOjeda-b5s only that's not how it works. One thing is evading the opinion of a random on the internet now when we have big youtubers and e celebrities the only way to evade them is turnning of the internet
I loved CGI beast. 🤷🏾♂️. The movie was good. Not the best Marvel movie but not bad at all. It had heart, purpose and direction. Carol finally got a better grip on who she is a person, not as a superpowered individual. Monica levelled up big time and her transition into films was so seamingless. Overall, enjoyed the movie and had lots of fun.
@Tron_Tha_Wizard that's not what I said. The Marvels is not a movie about being a mutant. It's a movie about the connection amongst three characters and their ghosts. That's it. The post credit scene was only meant to be that.. a short scene invisioning the future. It served its purpose, which is connect the Mervels to secret wars and Deadpool. That fox universe is not going to be the origin story of mutants in the MCU, that's a set up for alternate universes. How's that a terrible thing? The X-Men are my favourite team and I don't understand how that movie undermines the plan. I don't get it. Why wasn't Guardians of The Galaxy responsible for extending and connecting to the overall multiverse saga? That movie didn't connect to anything and didn't move the pilot forward. Why does the Marvels need to be accountable for all of this but not them?
I just saw The Marvels and I gotta be honest, the hate it’s getting baffles me, especially on this channel. I watched Coy’s review and I watched Greg and John’s review and man, we must have watched different movies. It wasn’t, like, the best marvel movie or anything, but it’s really pretty good. It’s carried by probably the best cast marvel has ever had outside an avengers movie, in and of itself a fact worth celebrating. I’m not gonna call it a 10 or anything, but a solid 7.5 or maybe an 8 out of ten? Yeah, easily. I’ve usually found myself to mostly be in sync with y’all on movie opinions (especially Coy) but I really think y’all should go re-watch this movie with fresh eyes, because man you all three had bad take after bad take in your review, as far as I’ve seen.
Honestly watching the marvels &’ yall’s review I thought it would really be a shit show but it wasnt even that bad😭😭 i would even say better than Antman3 (not saying much) but shit it was fun &’ Iman stole the movie🔥 but i could see a couple reasons why you could say it was funky but it honestly wasnt terrible like it was made out 😭 but XMEN COMING SOON GOT ME HYPED FOR THE FUTURE 🔥
I think people like these guys who seem to know more about the BTS technical film work, notice more than most and they can't help but notice it. And in that case it's hard to ignore those flaws and enjoy it as much? I can see how that could affect their opinions, kind of like reading a letter with so many typos or misspelling would drive me crazy. It's distracting lol.
Even people who have stuck with the MCU will overreact to an average movie or show now. The MCU isn't allowed to make average superhero films in some people's eyes. The films all have to be better than great.
Loki definitely replaced HWR but it is in the same instance of the entire season of how everything is a loop, so to prevent the loop Loki breaks the mold by destroying the loom in essence yes creating a new flow of time, but where we diverge from sacred timeline is when Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars happens and the Avengers do win then a Kang variant will not be at the "end of time." Because if Kang or HWR variant were to defeat the Avengers it would end up right back where everything started. A scared timeline, the TVA, pruning branches Season 1 and Season 2.
“A good movie should have three great scenes and no bad ones.” 1) The memory sequence 2) Aladna 3) Every scene involving Kamala’s family (so that’s multiple)
So, because Doctor Strange saw one outcome in infinity war that involved the Avengers time traveling and creating a variant Loki that would escape and eventually be lead to He who remains…. That could mean that the one outcome strange saw was also the only outcome that will lead to the multiversal war in Kang dynasty and secret wars
I wouldn’t be surprised if Beast was just CGI for this post credit scene. It was just one scene so maybe they decided it wasn’t worth doing practical effect, but when he’ll be back, they’ll use it.
@@getmeouttahere1209 Good point. Kelsey Grammer could very well just be tired of that whole process. Now that I think about it, they did Werewolf by Night completely practical with a real werewolf suit, and he was on screen for significantly longer than Beast in the post-credit scene. No reason they couldn't just do the same for Beast, who is very similar in design (minus the blue skin and fur, of course)
@@McPringle0 werewolf by night was a special presentation that was trying to mirror older monster movies, beast will likely appear in secret wars and Deadpool 3 where he’ll be a big character so he’ll probably not want to be in that makeup if he knows they can cgi it
I agree with Koi's sentiments the ending isnt literal, but It's clear Loki has replaced He Who Remains, we see the citadel and its destroyed. We literally see the rock it sits on in the distance, Loki climbs up to the wrecked circular window. Loki is co-opting what Kang did and making his own version of it. There is no more pruning happening. When you think about it trees dont need pruned, branches die and fall off naturally. Koi is right that Loki is 'tending' to the tree, making sure it's well and monitoring the cycle of birth and death. Loki is beyond time at this point, he's like a more pro-active watcher. Keeping a loose grip on the branches so they hold together
You had your opinion and im proud that you atuck with it. Dont give into the corporate A.I. bots, built to make you think your in the minority and wrong. But in reality everyone is on the same page. Keep up staying true to your opinion.
The last time Loki time jumps to the control room you hear “Welcome, he who remains”. I think they did that on purpose. He is He who remains now, until he comes back to kill Sylvie
so one theory I just came up with just now, after my 10th rewatch of the episode is that the moment loki was ready or destined to become the next He Who Remains or God of Stories, is when Loki was speaking to HWR right before he shows that he can stop time. Loki says a quote, "We die with the dying, We're born with the dead", then like HWR I was also confused on what that line means and why Loki said. I think these 2 lines shows the pivitol point where Loki has acquired more wisdom than HWR. It doesn't really explain the ending at all but I have been questioning why loki said that and I think this could be the reason why.
hey guys! when are you (Greg) and Roxy going to react to the second Trolls movie? The third is already around the corner and when the first reaction got uploaded you guys said that with Trolls 3 coming out this year you wanted to be on line with it. Just wondering :)
They're probably moving away from practical makeup in some cases because actors might be more likely to take whichever role. The reason some people can't wait to stop playing a character is how long the makeup process takes.
Watching this stream after the fact (couldn't catch it in the moment) and WOW, people are SO MEAN????? I'm sorry yall have to deal with people attacking you in the comments/stream, it's really messed up and you guys do NOT deserve it. I hope you don't let it get to you because all of yall are AMAZING, SMART, KIND, FUN PEOPLE and BRILLIANT REACTORS AND PEOPLE, and if people can't see/appreciate that, their loss. I always love watching yalls videos and hearing your opinions on things (even if I don't agree!!!! Wild how that works lol) and I'm always excited when I see you've posted!!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day and you don't let the bullies get you down 💜
Tom Hiddleston also spoke like his role of Loki was over after infinity war too. He knew it was continuing but he wasn't allowed to say. He chooses his words very carefully if you pay attention. I haven't seen or read anything where he says he's done or that it's over for good. I think it's over for now and probably the series itself is done but I'm not convinced Tom/Loki won't be back in a future movie. If his series is the launch point of the upcoming movies and war then how can he not be in it? Even if it's not in the leading role. My feeling is that Loki won't be able to sustain all the branches, either there will eventually be too many to manage or something so big happens that he has to give up "control" or give the "job" to someone else or what I'm hoping is that one day Sylvie will join him if possible. Because she'll realize where she should be is with him and then he won't be alone anymore. Bc they said several times in the series, that they are stronger together, their magic is stronger when they are together. Why put Sylvie in the series and everything they went through for nothing? It was hinted at so many times that they could take over for he who Remains, Loki told her whatever they do, maybe they could do it together, Lokis may always lose but they survive etc... I dunno but I'll be irritated if all that doesn't lead to them being the tree together lol. That and some form of of Thor and Loki having a resolution. And btw Tom Hiddleston can still go and do all kinds of other things and still be Loki from time to time. I think if he feels it's right he will do it, he's been so involved so far I don't think he would refuse if it felt like a Loki thing to do lol. ✌🏻
I didn't read all of this but yeah, Tom hiddleston speaking like he's done means NOTHING We've seen enough actors speaking in riddles about whether or not they're finished that we should know better. Tom hiddle speaking in riddles nothing. He'll be back for secret wars. H311..... he may be the focus. He's literally in charge of all the time lines now which is what secret wars is about.
What I find funny in your over the top critical assessment of the marvels is that fact this movie is the highest earning for a female director woman of color, but I guess the nuances that didn’t live up to your standards were more important, got it.
I think yall are forgetting theon saved Sansa if it wasn't for him she'd have been killed and probably used as a baby factory for Ramsey. Thein has a good arc so does Jamie, Jamie's is one of my faves minus te end of season 8
I understand the quandary with Beast; Kelsey Grammar is 68yrs old! He doesnt want to wear blue makeup and hair prosthetics!! Hell Jennifer Lawrence hated it and she was young and had something to prove. The choice Marvel had was either Nicholas Hoult, or a new actor, or a Kelsey Grammar Voiceover. They chose the one that presumably fits this timeline and provides a 'comic accurate beast'. But I am also sure KG didnt do the motion capture... and the CGI was rushed. I truly have no idea what this post-credits is supposed to set up. So it's an another 'X-Men' universe, similar to the one we know?? Or entirely new??
i find it crazy how people get offended about other people’s opinions. you guys can hate my favorite movie of all time, and i wouldn’t be bothered bc ITS JUST AN OPINION. you guys are free to dislike and criticize whatever, especially the mcu when we all expect better. you guys deserve all the love, yall work really hard, it doesn’t go unseen. much love reel rejects ❤
I appreciate your position to not get into mud with gender politcis or “woke-ism.” It’s perfectly appropriate to criticize a product for its terrible quality. Diversity is generally a positive, but not at the expense of poor storytelling or uninteresting characters.
Seen The Marvels opening night. I enjoyed it enough to tell others give it a chance. Not my favorite and definitely some head scratchers as far as plot and narrative. It bums me to hear Coy say similar things as Campea about telling subs to f off. I know I get emotional in my opinions, just as Greg admitted the same when leaving the theater. Initial reactions can sometimes just be raw. I can sympathize not wanting the negativity, and Coy looks beefed up enough to cash those checks his mouth writes, but just rough to hear.
I think me and my friends are the only people on earth that doesn’t find Kamala that endearing. We found her cringe and borderline annoying, I liked her family more. Enjoyed her more in Ms. Marvel too. No shade to the actress, but I enjoyed Monica and Captain Marvel (the character) more.
Spider-Man 3 was my favorite Spider-Man film. My fav SW film order is Jedi, Empire, Force Awakens, New Hope, Sith, Last Jedi, and Solo. I hated Guardians 3 and feel it’s far overrated. I felt TDKR is the best Batman film. My fav Marvel shows are She Hulk, Hawkeye, and MsMarvel. One of my fav marvel films is Iron Man 3 and love that Kingsley twist. And on and on.
i think hwr is kang from antman. we’ll see hwr going back to meet kang and setting him on the path to become himself. a time loop for the creation of the tva and hwr
I actually enjoyed the marvels movie !!! I loved the switching thing and ms marvel is the standout but the villain could’ve been better. Felt like a phase 1 villain or dollar store ronan
I think the director had a really hard job to do. The whole annihilator plot if leaned into in my opinion should have made the character of captain marvel irredeemable. I think that is the real reason for how fast paced, and fun the movie is. They were not going to give us time to really sit with what our hero had done, and show us how she had fucked over an entire planet for like 30 years, but her having done what she did is probobly important to the plot of the mcu going forward.
So does this limit the size of the multiverse? Because "infinite" is a scary word in story telling and id like there to not be infinite alternate realities. It seems the tva is trimming the tree, not keeping it down to one.
CGI Beast was far better than any of the practical effects Beast in my opinion. Kelsey Grammer is far older now than he was during the Fox X-Men days. Having an actor do practical effects makeup is cool but during action sequence they will switch to CGI anyhow, which would lead to another point for the audience to complain and critique. So just CGI the character so we get a comic book accurate size BEAST and not a human size BEAST. Unless they get a huge body builder to body double and put whoever they cast as BEAST head on the person
Thanks for your honest review of Marvels Coy. Honesty is always more appreciated than trying to put a positive spin on all material even when it may be undeserving.
One thing that I keep thinking about the marvels it's the moment when they go to Aladna. To me it felt cringe because it was not enough. It seems like a bad joke you'll said about disney where every female charater they own are princess now. I think the idea came from Ms Marvel and having a moment like the during the wedding. And that the problem they did it just to have a call back it seems. If they decided to do it, don't do it half finished. Just be unironic and make every cast member participate it would probably felt less cringe. This is the first movie in a long time I felt like a producer came in the editor room after a screening and say you cut that and this. I would like to see a director's cut because I'm sure there is a least 30/40min to the marvels that would make it, I wouldn't say better for sure but a least more coherent within the story it try to tell... On a side note, I would love for the mcu after (or along the way) secret wars to go another direction with the xmen, blade. I think they could have another bigger story that wouldn't culminate in an avenger team up but something else like the Midnight sons. It could possibly make sense with the end of multiverse of madness, blade coming, agatha show, moon knight. To me it would feel resfreshing to have mcu movies that would tie in an avenger team up where they fight more scientist/"real" threat and other movies where characters would be againt surnatural/mystic threat.
How many hours ya'll going to be on?😮 Damn, I've made the bed, washed dishes and folded clothes 😂😂😂 I thought you guys were done. Welcome back😅 Send thoughts and 🙏 to John.
Haven't seen a single review where anyone said anything about not liking female leads. The reviews that called it a bad movie did so because the writing was poor, the villain was poor, the editing was atrocious, and some of the acting was terrible. There are countless movies with female leads that fans love. 1st wonder woman, sigourney weaver in aliens, alita battle angel, sarah connor in terminator, etc, etc. The list is pretty big. Calling people sexist because they don't like the movie is a stupid made up narrative. Almost every review that criticized the Marvels and called it trash still praised Iman Vellani as the bright spot. If these people all hate women why would they be doing that? Coy's "alt right a-hole" comment is ridiculous. He talks about nuance but then likes to paint people with a broad brush. "Stay positive" but then tells people to F off. He's a cartoon.
I have seen comments made on videos about the overtly feminist/diversity aspect of the movie. There will always be jerks out there that will complain about that. I'm sure they've seen ALOT more comments about that than I have. I dunno about the critics bc I tend to avoid those reviews.
First off who ever made that coy is the new tyrone magnus comment has to be trolling bc coy is the opposite matter fact tyrone magnus is the type of individual coy dosnt want to associate himself with tyrone use to be dope but dude has gotten hella negative in the last 6 months
I honestly liked the CG Beast more because I thought the practical ones looked hokey. I'm not saying they couldn't do a cool looking Beast but the cg didn't seem wonky to me. Also though I agree with Coy there's no reason to accept mediocrity. I also get that from a special effects stand point this post credit scene could have gotten less priority to make it perfect. However the thing that bothered me about the post credits scene was that there feels like no coherency with how/why/what the multiverse is and the rules of it in the MCU.
Not only did they dig up the og avengers to advertise their new shitty story, they brought out the xmen. Marvel is doing everything they can to put butts in seats, besides making good movies
So I just saw The Marvels and I’d give it a solid 7-10 ⭐️ review. I laughed a lot during this movie. Mainly from Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel. She probably saved this movie for being a bad movie!! That Adlana singing is how they talk. It was good and funny but dragged on far longer then it should have been done.
Gimme a break with the Beast CGI. Kelsey Grammar is 70 fucking years old. When they put makeup on him in Days of Future Past it looked awful. The Nicholas Hoult makeup didn’t look the greatest either. The only way to get a comic book accurate Beast is with CGI. Like you said, very nit-picky
Reasons I enjoyed the movie that aren’t “it’s fun” The cameos aren’t fan service alone they meaningfully connect and advance plot points of the multiverse saga that seemed too disparate before. Loved seeing Valkyrie with Carol loved seeing Kate with Kamala and loved the post credit scene with Monica binary and beast. All three felt like huge oh ok so this is what’s going on with skrulls oh ok here’s what’s going on with young avengers and here is a multiverse tag 12000x better than a kang colosseum. I enjoyed the fast pace I felt the emotional beats with out being weighed down by them. Ms. Marvel learned your hero’s are people and you can’t always win you gotta just do your best to save people, Cpt Marvel learned that Monica didn’t need a hero she needed her aunt and at the end you can tell by the melancholy from Carol after starting the sun on Hala that she feels she let her down again, Monica forgave Carol and ended up in a universe where her mom is still alive which opens lots of multiverse plot opportunities but also character development. They did the song planet quick so if you didn’t like it it wasn’t too much cringe also their battle song at the invasion was dope. Nick Fury felt like Nick Fury not a shell of himself like secret invasion. The Khan family was hilarious. The action choreography with the spacial switching was interesting and a spectacle to behold. The villain was very understandable and I liked that just her dying or goin to prison wasn’t the answer she did damage to the fabric of reality and we lost Monica because of it also her lost to another universe almost ensures a future incursion. In this movie it felt like we could finally see the dominoes falling into place across Disney plus and the movies especially after the Loki finale it’s all making sense in a way we’ve been asking for FOR YEARS. In short this built up the multiverse and young avengers in meaningful ways and that’s so exciting I’m ok with the edit feeling a bit ham fisted. What the movie gives is great try not to focus on what’s not there instead focus on what is.
@@cl4-tpgaming it's called the end of time but it's really just a place where time has no effect, as it is outside all the infinite timelines he is holding together.
Loki basically became the MCU's version of Atlez, the Custodian of the Multiverse. A very awesome twist and I love how just a simple 90degree turn of the loom took on the world tree... branches growing upwards while roots grow downward. Such an unexpected twist and wow, who would have thought that Loki would wind up having the best character development of all characters. Awesome.
If Everything Everywhere All At Once can have a goofy hotdog finger universe, then Captain Marvel can have a singing planet. I enjoyed it for what it was.
