The lovely people at LOKLiK very very kindly sent me their Cutting Machine and Mini Heat Press to try, and in this video I put their Cutting Machine to work cutting an intricate monstera leaf pattern from gold permanent adhesive vinyl and applying it to my water bottle using transfer tape :D xxx

Hi Christine, what a fabulous machine, you are going to love the versatility and design elements, especially as you are so creative in your crafting. I have a ScanNCut and I absolutely love it! As well as vinyl projects (vinyl words for cards are great), you can design and make all sorts of interactive cards, from box cards, magic iris cards to any shape shaker card, cut out your stamped images, saves a fortune on dies, or buy files for literally two or three pounds. It opens up a whole new world and is great fun! Happy crafting 🎉🎉

Does this machine kind of make die sets redundant.. ? i’m not sure how to use this or how i’d use this… i’m confused

Me again :D it can make die sets redundant, but for me, I'd use it for things I can't do with dies, like cutting words backwards with iron on vinyl or doing large 12x12 shapes, cutting tonnes of the same thing at once etc and you can combine what you make with die cuts too :D 🥰 xxx

As far as I know, most home cutting machines can do most of the same basic design cutting that die cut machines do. BUT there are still major differences in the mechanics and other uses and capabilities. For instance, for more intricate designs, crease lines for folding AND embossed contours and edges of designs that die cutting machines will give you, cannot (at this time) be replicated on electronic cutting machines. Die cutting machines, whether electrical or manual are essentially presses and work by pressing metal edges of a die into your paper to cut the design. This same pressure can also be used to press (but not cut) a raised design into paper when using plastic embossing folders (there are many hundreds of designs out there.) The biggest difference is that one machine cuts by blade that's electronically guided and a die cutting machine cuts by the pressure being placed on a metal die that's rolled under a pressure cylinder. Hope this helps.
