Loktak Lake is one of the most famous tourist spots of Manipur - We thought of experiencing the lake while living in the middle of the lake in one of the fishermen cottages, doing a homestay.
Loktak lake is known for its floating islands which are made of floating biomasses. It is also one of the biggest fresh water lakes in northeast India. It is beautiful and about 2 hours by road from Imphal, the capital of Manipur, near the town of Moirang.
We lived with Sangai Moonlight camping and had the most unique experience of my life. If you like watching, please do like, share, comment and support by subscribing.

That voice though! You sound like one of those awesome calm and serene voices one can expect only from an AIR radio channel. (Which by the way is the best anywhere I believe, just because of the sheer quality of the channel). That aside, keep up the great work.! Lots of love.

I would not want a luxury floating hotel (my personal choice) there are luxuries abundantly in other destinations. Let loktak be as simple and beautiful as this. Your Vlog looks natural without over editing and I like this so much! Your narrating sounds so beautiful!

Soumi, I'M SPEECHLESS. 😲 Frankly, i really didn't want the vlog to end. Itna achha and itna calming vlog tha yeh. Itni beautiful jagah maine shayad he apne life mein dekhi hogi. The sunrise, the fog going over the water, the two joined boats, the garma garam ghar ka khaana, the weather and so much more, uff, unbelievably stunning. The tea u drank is called as "cc tea" in our locality .. Its actually not tea leaves...it is somewhat similar to lemongrass...its has a very distinct smell and aroma somewhat like that of a lemon.. (Hope my comment is useful )

So lucky you! I am from Loktak lake but never went and stayed on Phumdi. I use to see those huts from distant though. I'll definitely go there and have garam chai. BTW, I stay in Hyderabad though...job and all that.. you know. I love your narration and thanks for exploring the less known gift of nature.

In case they don't want to make too many islands to cover up the lake, they could also build house boats with local architecture style like in Kerala or Dal lake, Sri nagar. Will boost tourism

Wonderful video. Can u pls tell me that if I stay at loktak lake's hut for overnight shall I have to prebook it or it's easily available? And kindly tell me the approx charges of this hut (1day charge) so that we can plan accordingly to our budget.

The stay plus breakfast and dinnet is about a thousand per person. Yes you will need to book it in advance as there are only a few beds in this hut. Not sure if there are other available options.

Charges depends on company. We stayed with Sangai Moonlight. It is between 1-2k ...u can contact them on Facebook to know more. For car, they arranged for us from Imphal but there are public transports too!
