Thank you so much for traveling to attend Ursa Major! I think that as staff we will never not be absolutely blown away and honored that people are willing to travel from other countries to attend things we host. It's also super lovely to see the event from an attendee perspective (since as you may expect, many of us spend the time running around frantically 😂) I'm also extremely happy that you were able to go see other parts of the city on your trip! Re: the swap meet, something funny to note is that due to feedback from sellers we received during the last swap meet we hosted, we decided to allot two hours of setup time for swap meet table holders, so despite having a pretty late evening before, the majority of sellers showed up on the dot at 10 am to start setting up! Which, my reaction was "wait are you guys not tired 😵". I do also think it was a successful swap meet because we had so many people traveling in order to buy and sell! Our comm is definitely on the larger side, but something of this scale wouldn't be possible without everyone who traveled to be here, so thank you for also helping it be successful! 🥰
Wow two hours for setup time for the swap meet! And they showed up at 10am! 🤯 Thank you so much for hosting this amazing event~! I can't wait to be back for future events! ∧,,,∧ ( ̳• · • ̳) / づ♡ ❤︎♡❤︎♡
I recommend visiting the city when you're not going for an event. It's a very safe place to wear alternative fashion in general. There's often locals frilled up on random weekends. Additionally, California has a law that you can't photograph people without their consent. So if someone snaps a pic and you feel uncomfortable you can and should tell them to delete it from their device. I also want to point out that most people are very chill and friendly in the Bay Area so definitely visit again sometime.
I definitely want to come back and do more things! I wasn't able to complete my whole San Francisco tourist bucket list this time around haha Thanks for watching~!
Thanks for sharing all of your travel experiences in detail, it made me miss San Francisco and of course, going to a lolita centered event. I agree that it's so fun and inspiring to be around your people. All of your jewelry purchases look so cute and classy, but I'd say the bunny bucket hat looks extra adorable!
What a lovely event video! This makes me really long for an American event. Thank you as well for listing your budget, I feel like event budgets are something that people do not talk about for various different reasons. Your budget really highlights how much it can vary depending on whether you travel from out of town or not.
I definitely agree that people don't talk about travel budgets a lot but I believe in being transparent specifically because Lolita fashion is a luxury and when you add travel into that it can add up. :D Thank you so much for watching~!
imagine my surprise when I hear my name as I'm sipping my morning coffee! So glad you had fun with the badge ribbons, they were so much more popular than I could have predicted. Hope that this isn't your last visit to California!
That looks so wonderful. I hope I'll have the opportunity to attend this event in the future. The cat gobelin JSK is amazing. I received the Hawase kumya clothes (in pink) as a Christmas gift, and I feel the exact same way about them.
I really enjoyed watching and experiencing the event through your video! Thankyou for showing everything you got up to and the cost breakdown was really interesting too! You got so many cute pieces, I especially love that Hawase Doll set for kumyas
Thanks for this video - it was so nice to see more of your experience and some of the convention that I didn't get to see in person since I was so focused on vending. I'm glad you liked your cat dress and jewelry
Ahhh I thought I saw you there! My sis and I were at the Kumya panel. I wish I said hi! I love your channel❤ Also I love that you got Tricky Nightmare Factory! We have the skirt, and we love the little stump on it🧡
Ahhh hopefully I'll be back for future Bay Area Kei events so we can meet in person next time! The stump is so cute on this dress! Thank you for watching~!
i’m hoping to attend my first big event next year (queen is dead in manchester) so this was really helpful in knowing what to expect! 💗 love the cat gobelin piece! 😊
I'm glad you found the video helpful! I hope you'll have fun at the Queen is Dead event in Manchester! (wish I could attend but it's hard to book holidays at work >.
omg that cat gobelin is soooo wonderful, I hope they'll make more of those because I would love to get one.. TwT;;; (I'm particularly enamored by the pocket tbh).. I see Vina of the Valley has preorders on the same pattern, but their dress lengths are kind of too short?? (and I don't know if they have pockets which is honestly a dealbreaker for me). Well regardless thank you for sharing your experiences and making it from far away! I'm grateful to live in the area yet it still takes me a lot of energy to go BART over the bridge and go to Japantown... but I'd still love to go again assuming it's back next year. :)
So I learned that the cat gobelin fabric itself is commercially readily available fabric :D I hope that Mossbadger will make more to sell they are so good :D Bay Area Kei have hosted lots of lovely events so I hope they'll return with this next year. :3 Thanks for watching~!
That looked like a lot of fun! My local anime con is going to have a tea party at the con in the spring and I'm interested to see how it will go down! I totally get your more minimal packing, though if it were me, I'd simply wear all my skirts! I'm one of those people who loves finding the skirts more than the JSK. The only reason I own a JSK or OP? They didn't make a skirt version. The bigger question - how did you get all your things back with only the backpack?
I'd definitely would have worn a skirt if I had one that matched my colour theme haha (I surprisingly do not own many skirts XD) So on the way back I actually had another bag (you can see it near the end it's a white quilted style sling bag that's as big as a small duffle bag) & my backpack so I was able to bring more back more than what fit in the backpack XD Thanks for watching~!
(pointing at myself in the distant background excitedly ) haha but for real, this was really cool to see the weekend summarized, and to get glimpses at things that i missed out on! i wish i could have had about twice the energy and maybe even a second me to have been able to do everything. it was a really wonderful weekend
Currently, you don't need to make an appointment to go to BtSSB San Francisco you can just walk in. It was only for the event that they implemented the appointment only shopping. :) Hope this helps :)
Super cute vlog!! I loved all the details of the event, it seemed like so much fun. My favorite item you got is definitely the Spin Doll Half Bonnet ! 💖
If you used just a backpack, how did you take your purchases back? Maybe your flight allowed carry on plus a personal item? 🤔 I'm also wanting to also just carry a backpack for the 3 days but wonder what I'll do if i want to purchase something 🙈
So I actually came back with two bags so a personal item and a carry-on :D (both bags fit in the carry-on size requirements) but the plan was if there was too much to carry or if it didn't fit I would go to the post office to mail things back to myself in Canada :D I hope this helps! Thanks for watching~!
