@@SwitchUpYti have lollipop chainsaw and bloodrayne 2, so i can say that lollipop looks much better and performance is in some areas bad in both games. But i am in the fourth stage in lollipop chainsaw and never got a crash. Of course they need to patch it and cap the fps a stable 30fps. Lets hope for a patch.
I find it pathetic when a studio ports an older game that the Switch is completely capable of running flawlessly and manages to make it run terribly. Games like Chainsaw Lolipop, Alan Wake Remastered, GTA Trilogy, Sonic Colors Ultimate, etc have NO excuse to run poorly, especially since a game like Doom Eternal is on Switch and it runs pretty well
The game was a UE3 type and the switch is a UE4 type. It is also a PS3 version being used to remaster, which is a hard one to be ported on any PS3 games instead of the 360 game.

This is an ignorant comment. Nintendo has a very different architecture than playstation/xbox/PC platforms. Which makes porting games a ton of work, needing a lot of skill and $$$. Let's also mention the fact that the Switch is less powerful than a smartphone from 2014. I agree that publishers should not ship unfinished products, and this is an unfinished product. Hence it is unacceptable that this game was published, and we should be mad about it. But saying things like "managed to make it run terribly" is just ignorant.
It's okay to sound negative. Poor performance is a negative. Soft locks and crashes are a negative. I would rather honest negativity than fake shilling and praise.
Heard performance across all consoles was poor at best. I really hope they fix it because I never got to play it back in the day but I am not investing a PowerPoint performance level and floating/sliding movement that wasn't there before. I can confirm on ps5 the game has issues. I lost all audio, and background music which persisted across levels. Had to hard reset the game to fix it. Combat misses hit detection, and audio doesnt match subtitles half the time. Still very enjoyable, I just wish this port had proper dev time, and support from its studio to avoid releasing like this.

it really REALLY sounds like this is a rushed holiday release to avoid October and releasing the game JUST in time for Black Friday sales. I bet you a lollipop for that.
No offense to any devs or fans of Lollipop Chainsaw, but the game hardly set the world on fire when it came out 12 years ago. If you have to spend $45 all in one place, you can certainly do a lot better in the games market with that money.

Maybe its because I've been playing on Handheld, but I've had little to no issues so far. I had some issues the first night I played. But so far, I've had no crashes. I did have some audio issues at first too. But now its seems to be fine now. Just my experience though :)
Bayonetta 2 looks way better and runs at 60fps on the switch. This is absolutely unpardonable. I pre-ordered and it's just sitting on my switch because the 1st 30 mins were choppy as hell.
@@solonepeon5805 I use my switch in portable mode only and all I want is a stable 30fps atleast. Especially for a game this old. The switch has games like Bioshock, Doom, Nier Automata, Borderlands, Arkham city etc running at great frame rates and visual fidelity. The optimization in this game is truly appalling.
How someone can release a game in this state is telling of the gaming industry. And we as fans have to stop with running defense for this pitiful effort as well. Console manufactures get blame as well, they have got to start demanding some sort of quality control. This game should for all intents and purposes should be running flawlessly across ALL systems but there are problems across the board. I really hate this release and patch it up later mentality. Good on you guys here at Switch Up to let people know of this trainwreck of a port.

Got it on the switch because I was curious about the game 🤔 it’s um wacky refreshing completely nutty and off the walls insane I’m enjoying my time with it. Performance issues aside on the switch 😓 I’m still having fun with it.. Still you can definitely tell it’s lacking in many ways very much so like the developers should have done better with this port of the game. A bit disappointing to be honest however I’m not regretting getting the game. It’s still pathetic and insulting in my opinion to release a game in this kind of condition even more so when this kind of thing is considered the normal 😓😭 Thanks for the review
can confirm the softlocks happen on pc as well. im running a 4070 super and i still get them on occasion. Also the lack of a save and load screen means about half an hour in i had to pick up the kids and was prompted to start the school level all the way over again. I hope this gets added in the near future.
If they had simply ported the original PS3/360 game, it would run flawlessly on the Switch. The original also looks MUCH better, especially when emulated on PC at 4K 60fps. They fucked up the colors, removed the cell shading/comic book effect and added those stupid and unnecessary reflections.
I played it on Switch on release day and I personally didn't get any game breaking bugs or crashes. There are a few sections where the frame rate dropped a lot. Some texture pop ins here and there also. All can be fixed with a patch but I wish it was finished on release, especially being this was my first time playing this game.
Hopefully they can tweak it to where it runs better.. I got it on Switch because I have a ton of these style games already on PSX.. So I wanted to balance the scales
I bought the SwItch version. It does have frame rate issues and audio issues but I was able to beat it multiple times. My husband watched me play it and he pulled out his PS3 version and is having a blast. Hehe!
I’ll still picking this up on play Asia. I’ve always wanted it but never had the system for it. I like Suda 51 games as they are a fun B rated game experience. Seems it may get a patch by the time the physical is released. We will see.😂
It's pathetic we get unfinished games like this. I miss the PS2 & Gamecube days. I won't be buying this one until it's patched properly. I'm not supporting half-assed game development.
It's not often that I have buyers remorse for Switch game purchase but this took the cake for me. I played for 30 minutes last week, uninstalled it and bought the Steam version. On the plus side, I also bought the No Man's Sky port last week while it was on sale and that's been a blast to play on Switch.
I refunded it, which wasn't pleasant with Nintendo's strict refund policy. I requested store credit and got it back the same night. I am done pre-ordering anything at this rate. I did that for Gta Definitive Edition Trilogy and now this. I will wait for it to be on sale next year at $10-$20. Dragami needed a homerun to justify the ridiculous price Tag here and they dropped the ball entirely. $50, broken, niche decade old 360/Ps3 game. Not a good combination
Would be a lazy cash grab of a remaster even if it ran well. The licensed OST from the original is almost entirely gone and whoever tinkered with the visuals screwed up really bad as well. That is unless you simply cannot get enough of puddles and cheap looking fire sprites.
The Xbox 360 game is so expensive, they probably thought they could get away that price. Still amazes me that they choose to put games out in this condition rather than waiting until they've been fixed. The initial release window is the only time you're going to get full price for your game, so why ruin it?
So, i play repop mode in the break room at work.. also , i have experienced less bugs on the switch as i have on the series x version.. no locks on my switch I am running it on an OLED.. and on series x on a 1080p tv.. Checked, no new updates. You're peobably downloading the v1.0.3. The game is at 99% abandoned right now as it is. Turn Me Up has surely lost my faith. None of its game breaking, but yes it needs patches and dev has said it's coming. I'm close to 100% completion even with all known issues. I don't think this should have been released yet or come out at 40$. The story and dialogue were absurd and hilarious enough to keep me playing the first playthrough, and i kinda got hooked on unlocking everything else. Truly a game you would not see made today, and I don't just mean because of character models. A lot of lines in the game are again hilarious but would probably get booted off any social media these days. With some patches and price drop to 20$ I could recommend, but as someone who's almost fully completed it id say wait for a price drop because it is quirky fun game when it's working and is a cult classic for a reason.
I don't get it tho. The dev said patches are coming? So they know the game doesn't run well yet. So why release it at all? Or they can't tell how the game runs until thousands of copíes have been made?? That's just dumb... They should test the game over and over again and release if only if it runs like it should. People are paying money for it, if it were free, at least no one should have the right to complain...
@@samus88 It's just deadline stuff with the publisher and distributor id imagine. I don't think delaying a game is as easy as "Tweet we're gonna push back launch a bit". You probably have to inform a lot of people prior to the public and get the ok to delay. Or more likely the deal stated it will release at this date, so even if Suda wanted/needed more time contract wise not much he could do.
UE4 doesn’t run that great on switch, I heard this was ported from UE3 to UE5?!! What a shame about performance and the bugs. I was thinking to get the Japanese physical copy but now might hold off.
I picked this up on PS5 and it plays great! I did also order it physically for the Switch from Limited Run. Give this game a try guys, its a blast! And its hilarious!!!!!
I'm playing of the steam Deck and ordered the PS5 physical. Absolutely love this! The studio seems dedicated to ironing out the performance issues on all platforms.
That's why i opted for them. Hopefully all the game Will be on cart without having to download additional "fixing" patches. Who knows. As for now, i don't even believe they will ship the game between 1-31 December like they've stated lol@@christopherwilliams8659
I was curious about this one and it's a shame that the Switch version is rough with the performance and honestly modern gaming is in a bad place, pay loads for a slight upgrade, games never launch complete, on other platforms there's no uniqueness with AAA games anymore and i really wish weren't getting to that all digital age, it's so annoying
Ashamed to say that this is in my backlog....... My ps3 backlog! Haha Once it's patched & on a big discount then I'll probably buy it & sell the now rather pricey ps3 version.
I skipped the PS3/X360 generation and this is one of the titles I've always wanted to play. I hope a future patch will fix things, then I'll buy. Suda is doing an excellent job communicating with everyone about updates on his Twitter account (I refuse to call it X) 😋
This is definitely a “wait for a good sale” game that’ll be sitting on my wishlist for a while. It is a game I’ve always wanted to try (for research purposes) though in its current state I don’t mind waiting
I am on level 2 and haven't had any soft locks yet. Everything else said in the review is pretty much my experience, save from almost suffering nausea:p I also noticed some lighting or texture issues during cutscenes when the camera is close to Juliet's face (she is very pretty, but it made her look weird for a brief moment.)
I hope they patch it up for the LRG release. LRG has gotten bad about not having the most recent update on the cartridge. I never played the original even though I love Suda 51 games, so I had to get a physical this time around.
Pick it up. Just don’t pick it up on switch. It’s an amazing game and runs great on PS5 and Series X. Was a masterpiece in 2012 and is still a masterpiece today. Especially with all the overpriced DEI and live service slop flooding the market today.
Once upon a time, I would’ve bought this right away and been horribly disappointed. But thanks to the good folks at SwitchUp, I will gladly wait for the all patched up video ( and maybe a 50% discount). Thanks guys!
A game you can play with one hand. ;-) Jokes beside. This version looks/runs pretty poorly. 45 Bucks are too much for this old game anyway. Biggest downer: they got rid of almost all licenced soundtracks...
When I heard the first reviews I thought it would be the same case as Black Myth Wukong, only because it wasn't inclusive, but I see the problem was literally the performance, jesus god WHY?? This is unfortunately why I rarely play games on switch if it’s offered on other platforms. Not only are Switch ports frequently poorly optimised, but Switch hardware in general is just really inadequate for the 2020s.

I bought and played it on release and finished it the same day. I got my moneys worth but heck, the way the game runs is a bit pants. The way it loads high res environments but keeps juliette super low res does my head in. The FSR they use causes hectic ghosting in darker environments. Bit of a shame. Itll be something i go back to every couple of months to get A ranks like i did in bayonetta 1-3. Its entertaining, its jank. Its enter-jank and im fine with it.
Kinda makes me regret buying the physical LRG version now. I mean yeah you can download patches for now but it would of been nice to have a decently playable version of it without the need for extra things
This would have been a perfect pick with Halloween coming up. As it is I'm gonna hold off till Christmas time and hoped its patched by then. Dont really wanna play anywhere else.
Well that sux, and it doesnt bode well for Suda's other game, Shadows of the Damned (which was amazing), that comes out next month, atleast that one is backwards compatible on my Series X.

Honestly it baffles me that these idiots couldn't get a PS3 game to work on the switch. Maybe the devs haven't worked on the switch before or maybe this was a last minute decision. Personally I loved the game on the PS3 but honestly it wasn't really good even back then.
It’s a bit weird that switch has such bad framerate while the ps3 version was quite ok - oh well, I preoreded the ps5 version weeks ago anyway but still… i wouldn’t mind to buy other version aswell to support developers
Nah qte add plenty to the experience. This is in the era where fail state qte exist and you instantly game over. Misery is still an experience technically. And it adds plenty when a continue drastically lowers your score and the game sets you back quite far back in certain sections. All for 1 misinput. Granted its no bayo 1.
Not gonna lie. I was kinda sad this game performed so poorly on the switch. I mean granted it was already a jank game on 360 and on playstation. But i wpuld jave thought the switch which was an internal equivalent of that kinda hardware would run this game fine if not better. I hope they patch it well enough in time for the limited run games phusical to have it.

The visuals are disappointing on any port. They went with a more realistic shading than the semi cell shaded of the original. So characters look more like plastic dolls now. Im sorry, but they should have made the graphics more stylised
the game is a janky mess on PC and steam deck too unfortunately. It's a real shame because there's a fun game here but the clear lack of care and effort put in to this so-called remaster is just sad. there's no excuse for a 12 year old game to be running this poorly even on Switch.
Been waiting for this ! I refunded it. Dragami really messed this one up as it apparently is a mess on all platforms. What a shame that I pre-ordered it for OLED and got an unplayable game. Lots of screen tearing and fps going from 25 fps down to 10 fps constantly as I'm tanking damage. Feels like the game will crash at every cutscene. This was 100% on the devs. I'll revisit it in a year when this game is $10 on sale on Switch and has been fixed hopefully. This game will be DOA. Niche decade old title that was $50 and released broken.

I feel like this is a very polarizing game even when the performance is good. Your either going to realllllly like it. Or realllllllllly not like it. It's always so strange to me when games from yesteryear don't function well on switch though.
Weird how red dead redemption runs good on the switch but this one doesn’t ,, either way I hope they patch it up ,love this game ,, got it on my ps3 and ps5 now but wouldn’t mind taking it on the go ,, plus I use my switch handheld all the time
What a waste! I certainly hope this isn't the case for the upcoming Stalker games but there's been a trend lately of games from that era being dumped on the Switch in awful states.
I've never bought a LRG before, but since i loved this games on Xbox 360 back in time, i decided to preorder it physically... obviously, i made the wrong choice 💀. The only thing i hope is that updates may come out between production so they can be included on cart so i don't have to download things after i overpaid this piece of shit 😂
Well I still own not only my old 360 as well still got with me the physical edition of this game and no offense but at my Trinitron am pretty sure that it will look even better than at the Switch ❤
It's an absolute mess on PC as well. Managed to get it running on the Steam Deck by editing some .ini files and turning a bunch of stuff off but basicaly this is a case of Unreal Engine making a game way more intensive than it really deserves to be and a bunch of lazy devs who clearly haven't spent any time optimizing (or don't even know what they are doing).
You can complain about piracy all you want, but I downloaded this game, played for 5 minutes and deleted it immediately. it runs like shit and no one should spend any money on it.
dang, i so was wanting to get this game,. I'll wait for the patches...no reason a 10+ game run worse then the original, Glad I cancelled my preorder...did hear they were avoid giving out early copies for review...now feel i know why.
