As a young man in the 60's I became intrigued by Aleister Crowley, in a strange way, he seemed to be a part of the Zingiest of the period.. anti establishment, rebellious , sexual revolution, & intoxicants of every strip .to my young mind he was" Cool ".. Their was a dark side to Crowley, drug addiction , sex magic, narcissism , & madness. or was it, he was getting a bad rap by the media of the times..? However ,I felt he was a genius..& later when I studied with a Black metaphysician & astrologer. Dr A...Ligion he had a syllabus for his students & there was Crowley, so I knew I was on the right track after all..I still use his Thoth Tarot cards to this day...

Thank you for the lecture. My ex-husband studied Crowley for maybe eight years before i met him. That was back in the 70s. I would pick up one of the books every so often and realize I had to learn three or four other languages before I could even read one page. Annoying. I had to come back to the lecture. belmont shores. that was my neighborhood at exactly the same time. Very strange. now to look at Crowley's chart. for about 20 years, I drove by the Theosophy center in downtown Los Angeles on the way home from work.
