Wenlock and Mandeville are so adorable and the London 2012 Olympics was the beginning of me being an athlete people say oh your one of the slowest people on earth it makes me cry but I just get back on feet and practice till it's perfect
Might not be the most realistic mascot ever to grace Olympics advertising, but they are creative and fun; and definitely don't exclude anyone. I'm thrilled to see a Paralympic mascot side-by-side with the Olympic mascot getting just as much face time. Besides, regardless of what they look like, as long as there are people giving them this much personality and heart, then they serve to inspire the world. Loved the way they tried out the sports!
I was just thinking the other day that our mascots haven't been as well publicized as others in previous games. with cartoons and so forth. This set of cartoons completely passed me by. They could have done with broadcasting it more.
I really didn't like the mascots. I didn't like that they had one eye either. But I've grown really really fond of Wenlock, I find that mascot so cute. I even have one of the official Wenlock keyrings and a plush toy. I loved this story :D Made me happy.
Better than many other Olympic mascots. And there are many other children's characters who you could say are ugly and boring. Wenlock and Mandeville are to say the least original.
I read one of their Beano comic strips. They are a bit more articulate in the comic strip than they are in this film but it has to be admitted that Tom and Jerry are a lot more articulate in their comic strips.

I think that Wenlock and Mandeville suit their target audience, children 5 to 15 really well. They're bold bright and modern. Also being made of steel helps to reflect Britain as an industrial nation with a an unbreakable spirit. I think they're really cleverly designed and show that the London 2012 olympics are modern and contemporary
This story makes the mascots sense otherwise I wouldn't of liked them as much but how can you not love these super cute super cool Mascots designed for children not design experts.
Before I watched this video the new mascots seemed kind of creepy looking, but after watching this video, I suppose that they are kind of cute and clearly aimed at selling to kids, something that will have to be done if the Olympic games are to be successful in future years as well as this year.
London 2012 Mascots - Out of a Rainbow - my kids liked it when they saw this played. The logo is growing on me now that some of the designs have come out. Only 675 days to go until the opening ceremony. I wonder how may BorisBikes will still be in the Capital by then?
@midnightalastor its ment to represent the uk as both names are historic famous places in london and they made the idea of having two metal things, cuz two drips came from the last gurder thing for the olympic stadium. :)
this Olympic I watch it was the best even my friends and my family even the teacher watch it. well do some more next time and I really like mascots and you was the best one ever :D I wish I would go to London because I want to be in a Olympic
So, in a nutshell, George retired, and using the bits of metal left over he made these little statue things for his grandchildren, who ungratefully let them out the window.
As cute and charming as these characters are, they don't seem like.. Olympic mascot material. But whatever sells more merch to the children, I guess. Personally, i think they belong in a Pixar movie. And don't get me wrong, they'd probably have an absolutely adorable movie. I can't take them seriously, though.
at first i really didn't like the design for the mascots. but now i've grown rather fond of them =) especially after seeing Wenlock cheering on the athletes during the Men's 10,000m Final. this film gave me a warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach (and no, it's NOT nausea).
It's a shame more people don't like them. I personally think they're kind of cute... they're quirky and original. But of course that's just my opinion.
We've had some pretty lousy Olympic mascots in the past, but these two take the cake. I'm still waiting for the press release from the London organizers that reads, "Ha ha! Just kidding! Gotcha!"
