@@rhysrobertstransportationa1668 Dan was no more than a cardboard-cut-out compared to the earlier characters!! He could just as easily have been in Hollyoaks or something!
The music makes me feel quite sad. I was in my 30s when it was on. I am nearly 60 now and struggling to think where that time went. Sam Beckinsdale lived near me in Queens Park and I used to see her in a local Indian restaurant on Kilburn lane. Great days.
I don't know why I didn't see this comment sooner Paul but I feel you entirely. I'm 22 but I started watching LB when I was about 6 years old through RU-vid clips of the show and was instantly hooked. Now as a child it was the lights, the sirens, and the action that was the main draw but the older I got, the more I appreciated the story and characters just as equally. So the soundtrack for me comes off as bittersweet and serves as a reminder of my childhood and the advent of falling in love with a new show. Plus as an American, nobody here had really even heard of the show before so it almost felt exciting to know about such an awesome show that nobody around me was privy to!
Loved the way they all wake up Colin with the false teeth 😂. In the same year Jack Nicholson in a Few Good Men said : We’re in the business of saving people’s lives . This pretty much is the motto of the fire 🔥 brigade.
This same thing happened to a kid near me before I was even born.. He got hold of the cigarette lighter and caused a fire and he was trapped in car , must of been awful for any family to go threw this
My Mum loved James Hazeldine. Sadly gone too soon. Ross Boatman now in Eastenders, hopefully for a decent stint. You really cared about the characters in this which was part of its success. Whatever happened to Nick? I believe Gloria is still alive.
I don’t know what happened to Andrew K., he was good for the series, from season 4 to season 11, it was definitely sad when they killed off Nick at the movie cinema shout
@@BlueTGM40From what I understand, Andrew left the show due to a pay dispute (hence his character's exit), and since then he has mainly stuck to theatre work, working behind the scenes as a writer and playwright.
I actually like this series more than what we have in the US. Probably because (from what I've seen)this doesn't have nearly the number of kissy/sex scenes that our shows like Chicago Fire do. (even though evidently the later series did have more soap like scenes)
I’m a fan from the US too, London’s Burning was from 1986 (the pilot film) to 1987-2002 (the series) so it was a little different then what we see today in firefighting entertainment, I think Chicago Fire and London’s Burning are sort of the same except they are based in different timelines and areas, plus there is more female FD characters then just the one for a couple of seasons
@@scousertom0388 it was blackwalls ground, so they mobilised the station whos ground it was, also, as this is london, alot of the stations are only a ten to fifteen minute drive from each other, some are just a stones throw away, it could well have been right on the edge of their ground
"I'll make it easy for you, you were spotted sunshine, and if we hadn't had a shout i'd been on ya when we got back 'ere, and i know what it was about and all, you couldn't find what you were looking for, so you stole my bloody teeth instead!" Absolutely classic moment ftom the Blackwall crew, just to retrieve their station mascot
It’s a bit late but it’s because there was only 8 as John and Mike were injured and both appliances were available and the minimum number to ride and appliance is 4 so it’s halved for 8 to 4 in each appliance
Shame Nick's character didn't stay on for longer or at least get a proper send off. Watching every episode from the film up to the last, how it fell around series 10, perked up around mid series 11-12 then fell in series 13 again :(
It's strange that at this time Recall was allowed to have full facial hair when, in a later series, he was told that it was against Fire Brigade Regulations because it inhibited his wearing of his BA and had to be removed.
Well that's what progressiveness is. The studies that went into fire safety as the years went on showed more vulnerabilities with pre-existing standards that needed to be changed, and yes that did include beards and certain moustaches that could allow toxins to enter through the mask.
Well rightfully so! All he ever wanted was to be a firefighter and he finally got his head screwed on right, and his fortitude for the job and earned it! Unfortunately as the old addage goes, bad things always happen to good people and there is no more better example than the demise of Colin☹️
Under the circumstances, I think it was very generous of Hallam not to sack Colin - He fucked up a call and sent one of the fire trucks to the wrong addresss....It turned out to be a false alarm, but it could easily not have been.
5:06 - good grief, the man in this scene was so toweringly moronic that I had to stop watching for a while. I'd say that surely there can't be people that idiotic as to set fire to their own homes to prove a point, but in my heart of hearts I know that this is probably mild compared to reality :(
It's absolutely in line with reality. The issue has always been common sense being shrouded by ends to justify means. During my time on the fire department I can't say anything as absurd as that happened, but I've had a few runner ups lmao
