3:05 - 4:53 I first heard this particular part of the song in one of the Bluey episodes. It was so emotional for me to hear the melody for the first time and I love it dearly!

Back in middle school I played the saxaphone and at our concert I had a solo around 3:05... Loved this song ever since.

The LSO is always amazing and Sir Colin Davis too! They are just impossible to surpass! They have reached like an almost human perfection!

This is great! My school's symphony orchestra played this piece and their semi-annual concert, and this same orchestra visited my school to coach our orchestra. I just HAD to hear them for myself. Just fantastic!

The LSO is the ONLY orchestra and Sir Colin Davis is the ONLY conductor that evers does justice to The Planets (especially Jupiter). What a masterpiece!!!

What a wonderful performance! I think I like it even better than the one I have on cd by the LPO conducted by Sir Adrian Boult.

William Lam this is not the Colin Davis recording. It’s a click bait thumbnail

Charles Villiers Stanford Thank you for letting me know. I will have to take your word for it because I have no idea what Colin Davis's version sounds like. But I wasn't only commenting on this very recording here and nothing else. ✌

William Lam you should listen to the actual Colin Davis version. It's my favourite recording.

Mine too. But in a brass band version.

Whoa, the first trumpet played that whole phrase up the octave. That's not written in the score. Sounds wicked, though. Holst probably didn't put it in the score like that because he didn't expect trumpet players to be able to play musically while up that high.

@@tobidunlea2164 This recording predates him like someone else alluded to. The trumpet 8va made this one of my favorite recordings as a kid!

LOL, I know... About 2 months ago I was there with family and standing in line at "Soaring Over California" I heard it (Jupiter)... Mind you I had a few drinks in me (one reason why I love California Adventure Land") I was commenting on ever movement of the piece... Needless to say many people near me in line probably thought that I was a babbling drunkard.

Wow! This live version is even better than Herbert von Karajan's Berliner Philharmoniker.

Undoubtedly the most professional and orchestral rendition of Holst. Unfortunately there is no other orchestra in the world with the ability to perform to this standard. Sir C. Davis is undoubtedly qualified to conduct such a masterpiece, but without such talented musicians, his expertise withers. Thank You mrmortgage for this inclusion. My apologies to that Japanese orchestra, but they are, in all honesty, rubbish. It's like a star trek intro with them..

Sorry, glitch on last comment. Amazing piece, but doesn't sound as good as the LSO's iTunes recording to me.
