Love this show -- saw a local production years ago, definitely would love this production --- except I'm on the other end of the pond. I highly recommend the original movie, also "The Birdcage" which is an American remake of that original film (that remake was a completely separate thing from the musical -- apparently different enities own the film rights and the theater rights).
I saw the production at the Palladium years ago.Dennis Quilley & George Hearn then at the Menier Chocolate Factory with Douglas Hodge, an Olivier & Tony for his performance as Albin (I think) A joyous piece of theatre. Must see this new production.
👠 saw this when I was in London early august and loved it so much I went back on my last full day to see it again and brought a friend who also loved it. The theater is amazing, watching the sunset in the background as the show goes on is so different than most theater experiences, and the lighting at night is very cool too. Didn’t realize they served food that but I guess next time for that. Glad they are doing so well that they extended for a week. Looking forward to the review.
omg, I just randomly came across this video and realised I was at that same show in the front row too! I remember when they called you out and thinking your matching shirts were so cute!!😂 it was my first time seeing the show as well and I had the most amazing time, it was just magical!! 👠👠
👡 looks like you were still on fringe rush schedule there. Lol. Open air theatre looks fun - I dont think there are any near me sadly. La cage is on my list of want to see shows.
As always, it's charming, light, full of simple tenderness and joie de vivre. And it's adorable. It's a pleasure to see two young people driven by the same passion for theatre and live performance. I was the same way when I was your age, living in London (I'm French). But I'm still amazed at the amount of junk food you can both swallow in each video ! Never a healthy, balanced meal ! I'll be very interested to see what Mickey thought of the show. The adventure continues...
It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I think you should just resign yourselves to having to rush to make curtain. It seems to be your lot in life. 👠👠👠
