@@tiptoptravel How? Eurostar know that they have the convenience factor so use that as a reason to increase prices

@JackJackProductions I was able to book well in advance, and plan my journey well. It was also better for the environment.

@@tiptoptravel Yes with E* one must book well ahead to get the best prices. Sadly since the pandemic E* has hiked its prices (it needs to recover revenue lost during the pandemic) so anyone booking within a couple of weeks will pay a high price ... maybe more than the cost of a flight.

Yes you are correct. One disadvantage with E* in the UK is that it serves only London. Its two Kent stations are currently not served which does not go down well with the locals who face a London backtrack.

Not when you arrive, but when you leave to get back on the Eurostar, there is both Dutch and British border control.

@@tiptoptravel be boarding from London - getting the sleeper, from Glasgow. Doing something completely different - when yeh board the Eurostar do you have pacific seat or can u sit anywhere

When you book, you will be assigned a seat and a carriage. Hope this helps.

@pattttttttt if you wanted to sit somewhere else, it’s worth asking a member of staff. Usually the trains are quite busy.

Oh gosh! That’s so sad to hear that. Completely agree re the impact of Brexit, it’s completely shut Britain’s off from the world. I would join the EU again in a heartbeat.

@@tiptoptravel Not so easy, the EU may not be so welcoming as the Brits were always very difficult, exceptionalists and the brexit experience has been very unpleasant for the EU, Michel Barnier must have had the patience of a saint to put up with the worst U.K. politicians in more than 100 years. Remember Grayling, transport minister awarding contracts to tory mates with no ferries or port and then having to pay millions to all the ferry operators and Eurotunnel. EU would need to see approximately 80% of population in favour of rejoining EU and there will be no rebate of contributions which would appeal to EU Finance Minister and U.K. must accept the Euro and Schengen. At least Eurostar could run at full capacity, Eurostar service remains very expensive pound per mile.

Hopefully you can disassociate the politicians from the general population

@@tiptoptravel Its a challenge, the referendum exposed very unpleasant aspects of many British people. There is a well known quote in the U.K, “not everyone that voted for brexit is a racist, but all racists in the U.K. voted for brexit.” The U.K. will have to live with their decision for decades to come, what is done is done.

I think if we had a second chance, we’d vote to rejoin, the culmination of a young vote, and the realities of brexit on people’s pockets have turned the tide against brexit I believe.

Us travellers need to think about greener modes of getting to places!

@@tiptoptravel Agreed but you cant have any kind of a Greener Economy if the majority of the population is out of pocket or living in poverty. Dont you Rich Greens get it yet?The message will fall on deaf ears.
