Do we need to take a visa in Budapest for a transit? Or is it okay to stay at the airport for the connection flight. Could you please give me a reply? Thank you

Hi @vaisakhraju it really depends on the passport you hold. If your an Indian national you will need to hold a valid transit visa.

Hello Sarankumar, it really depends which passport you carry, on an Indian passport I believe you do need to have a schengen visa. Hope it helps!

I have. A British passport I’m planning to fly to Dubai via wizz air by flying into Hungary from uk then catching the wizz air flight from Budapest is this possible

Hey Alex thanks for commenting yes that’s perfectly possible! I did that several times myself. For us (British & Irish nationals) there isn’t any visa prerequisite. I’m flying Wizz air myself to Dalaman next month (currently in Portugal) Safe travels!

Would have been nice if you told us how to get to hotel in budapest from the airport and one the flight day how did you return? Also was there any problem in self transfer and also do you need a visa in budapest?

There is a Ibis hotel very near to the airport. I didn’t need a visa. I didn’t return, I took an outbound journey to London

Hi Ansdhad- thanks for your comment. Of course you can provided your credit or debit card supports it. Many banks like FAB and HSBC support international lounges. Even HSBC Premier India Mastercard credit card does.
