Part 1: boarding at London Waterloo International station, travelling through Kent at 300 km/h, stopping at Ashford International station and entering the Channel Tunnel.
Big thanks to my fellow American travellers!

Thanks! I was just browsing around and wondered what it would be like to ride this train - so I searched and your video popped up!

I just came back from my Eurostar trip back to Brussels. Not many things have changed ever since you took that video. I like how you caught all the details on camera.

So glad to see the Medway Viaduct on there... I used to live a 5 min drive from there, and would sometimes walk to school across it; but I live in Canada now having moved 5 years ago. Aproximately 15 seconds to cross it, that's fast - takes about 15 MINUTES to walk it! I think I'm getting homesick.

Cool vid, i've only travelled through the tunnel on the vehicle shuttle, so it's interesting to see what Eurostar is like.

It used to be slightly more than 2 and a half hours. Since opening St. Pancras International one can get to Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes

Nice vid! Last year I was on an interrail tour with my friends. We went to Paris and wanted to take the route to London, but we had to pay 70 Euros extra for the Eurostar, so we didn't! :-(

Wow the announcement sounds like one from VIA Rail Canada. It's done in English, then in French, and they mention things like "other passengers will be boarding so please occupy the seat on your ticket".

Paris and London are the capitals of tourism for foreigns, nobody goes to Washington DC looking for sightseeing or entertainment, only politics related business, while in the UK and France businesses related to tourism are centered around those capitals, you cant call someone ignorant for wanting to go to London and Paris and not wanting to visit the rest of the country as most of these people are probably traveling through agencies and on a budget. I'm Canadian BTW.

Yes it is

@harrychown1989 Yes but London and Paris are big cities more than they are capitals. We have plenty of beaches and swamps and mountains and alps and whatever in the US. People go to Paris and London for the culture just like people go to NYC or San Francisco.

Of course. But this was filmed in March '07.

@Nativeskygirl I cringed as well, but perhaps we heard the question out of context? Maybe they were discussing the relative ease of the boarding process? I hope so.

London and Paris are as different as chalk and cheese. But both are great Cities, far greater than anything found in the United States. Furthermore, Europe has far more greater cities than the US could ever dream about. Even Oxford and Cammbridge, both small cities in England, are way beyond the comprehension of the average America. Americans live in their own back yard, and take it with them on 'vacation'. Fortunately, when they've stuffed themselves with hamburgers, they go home again.

@harrychown1989 That's not necessarily true. Usually the capital cities are included but many Americans go to Venice instead of Rome, or Krakow instead or Warsaw. Same with Ireland. Many visit Dublin but more might go to Galway or Clifden or Killarney. I agree with you that Paris is overrated but It just so happens that nothing really attracts anyone to France except Paris. I personally have no interest in ever seeing anything else in France no matter how much better it can be.
@hyperchild95
@hyperchild95 13 лет назад
@harrychown1989 That's maybe because Washington D.C. has nothing to do. I bet you've been to New York City many times, which is the equivalent to London and Paris.

I went from London St. Pancreas to Paris Nord station. Paris Nord station looks horrible. They need to improve infrastucture over there. London St. pancreas is new and looks a clean and healthy environment.

What the hell would you expect of most international travelers??? Everyone the world over visits the major places of popularity first quite naturally! And you're wrong, most European deliberately visit New York City, Florida, L.A. and Washington D.C. FIRST! Get your facts straight!
