A very well deserved top 20 hit single in the UK in 1988! I also remember hearing them nearly a year before in 1987 when they had top 20 hit in the Netherlands with-"There's a Beat Going On" My dad also got the hit album in Holland-Speak!
i have told so many people about this song and how good it is...thank you for posting this. I loved the song when it came out and it has remained the beautiful poignant song i first remember hearing.
Wow ......what can you say. They just don't make music like this anymore. Great voices, and sumptuous lush strings = virtual perfection. You can't get much better than this.... Great to listen to last thing at night aswell. But calling this a 'chill-out' track alone is doing a massive disservice to its beauty. This is so much more than just a chill out track!! It's amazing.

I'd completely forgotten about this. What a travesty. I loved it at the time, but now I'm older, I can appreciate more fully the beauty of the sound these guys make, and the emotional charge of the song means more now. There ARE some good things about getting old 😃🎶

I take it this was meant to capture and express the peace, quiet and tranquillity of the underground network once rush hour was done for another morning and everyone had got to their places of work - I wonder if any of these guys were employed as cleaning staff at one or more stations at the time this song was written, it would have explained how good a job they did with this one... Must admit though - as good as this is, I much prefer their follow-up single _Thinking About You..._
