Kyle thanks for the work you have been putting in on the prototype. Looking forward to the advancements of this product and see where it goes. Thank you for taking the time and reaching out. !!!!
Really excited about this. I have an RSI Smartcap but I’ve been planning on building a pop up camper myself because of the crazy prices most pop ups have. You seem to have combined all the best features of other campers but come in at a much better price. Nice 👌
Awesome. Been looking for a video that shows a wedge camper on a half ton short bed truck. Tons of options out there for these style campers, Super Pacific, Alu -Cab, Harker, GFC. Thanks for showing us what sets you apart from the crowd! Now I just need to save up!!!
@@lonepeakoverland9213 Thank you! Yes, we did. However, we really love everything that's out there now. There's something for everyone 🙂. Your campers look badass!
Great Design! Going to be a pretty sweet camper for the money. 💪🏼 I will say the Harker Outdoors EDC does have a lot more interior space though, they definitely lead the pack with usable room.
Actually the Harker EDC has the most interior space of any wedge camper on the market today and the Lone Peak is a distant second. Both look like great choices.
@@ewong7492 Yeah it probably takes from 60 to 80 seconds to set everything up including the table. The tailgate annex can stay attached and the tethers can be clipped to your frame with a carabiner clip. I guess if 30% more space and a table is worth the extra few seconds you go for it, if not you don't. Of course if you're my age not having to squat down to get in is a plus as well. It's great to see the competition ramp up. That spurs innovation and brings prices down for us consumers. 😃Hopefully Lone Peak delivers one to a customer fairly soon so we can see what the end product actually is and what bugs need to be worked out. Cheers.
Both have a tent so any illusion of security is just that. If you're worried about security you'd better buy a hard-sided camper and have it heavily reinforced because no roof top tent or wedge camper will give you that. I've camped in tents all my life, and I don't have any concerns. If I did I'd always stay at my cabin.@@Non-Serviam300
Thoughtful design - plus the added space while retaining the benefit of hard-sided security at ground level is very innovative. Deters -unwelcome four (more likely two) legged midnight visitors.
Some cool innovations here! Not sure about your claim of the largest interior space of a wedge camper. I just ordered an EDC because it’s huge and incorporates the tailgate room into the interior space. I do like some features of yours. Great job.
Hey Kyle, it’s shaping up! Looking great. I’m wondering if you can highlight the rain guard system specifically. It looks saggy in the glimpses I’ve caught. Main concern is flapping in wind and building up a puddle. Thanks! Great work!
rear overhang and pass through space just made this my no1 option above GFC! it would be cool to mount things that might leak fumes (propane, diesel, rotopax..etc) and the muddy stuff (recovery shovel, axe, maxtrax, jacks..etc) on the outer extrudes. biggest gripe right now with my current fav, GFC, is that they don't recommend mounting items with "dynamic load" as they say on the outside extrusion tracks. so propane, rotopax or, shower tanks are no go as they have liquids sloshing around inside. also are the extrusions accessible from the inside? you know for hanging stuff from within the topper or tent. hope you guys have ford super duties in your plans ;) this on the new gen tremor would be epic!
Thanks! We haven't tested rotopax on the extrudes so I'm not sure how it'd do. Awnings will be fine though. We're working on some off road door mounts so you could add those acessories to the doors as well. The inside of the extrudes have channels as well so you can mount stuff everywhere.
Wow this looks fantastic and I live in Spokane Washington so that also makes it very convenient! Planning to retire in June and spend the entire summer cruising in Alaska! I also run a hunt camp with a veterans group called Heroes Harvest where we do a spring hunting camp. I also have a RU-vid channel Northwest Spur Chasers. Will be hunting with Jason Phelps of Phelps Game Calls next spring also with a few other big names and would love to have this system up and running before April? Hoping to load it up with a top-end batwing awning, exterior shower and heating system. Pretty much the works? We need to chat ASAP! Love what you're doing brother. Put me down and let's see if we can build this up!!!! Would love to get it on film for you! John
@kyle if ya need a tundra to loan and product test I’ll be happy to lend my tundra exchange for a prototype camper , I’m based in Southern WA. Looking forward to your final product
Love the reveal!! A few questions - for shorter bed vehicles (5ft short bed Tacoma), is the pass through feature still available? I imagine the sleeping platform would just extend further over the cab of the truck, correct? Also, approximately how far above the roof does the top of the camper sit? Lastly, can you elaborate on the framing construction of the camper? Is it able to withstand abuse from heavy off-roading (vibrations, hard impacts, etc.) without compromising the integrity of the frame? I'm absolutely intrigued; its going to give my GFC a run for its money with all the awesome features!
Yes, we’ll have a pass through window available still and yes, the platform would overhang a little more on the 5’. The top of the camper will be about 10” off the top (8” tall with 1.5” gap for bed flex). The frame is extrusions bolted together. The vertical uprights are about 7” wide which provide a ton of stability. We just off-roared the hell out of this thing last night and it’s doing great :)
Nice video and design, especially at that price point. From the answers below (10" above roof) (it seems like this may be able to fit on a Taco (70.6" roof height to fin), or Maverick (69" to fin top) and still fit inside a 83" garage door opening. Can you confirm?
I really wanna see how these work on a Jeep Gladiator. The Gladiator cab is fairly high, and the bed is short so I'm curious how the overhang looks. Right now I'm sitting on the sidelines waiting to see how it'll look on my truck. If you can do a video with a Gladiator proto-type that'd be awesome!
Bro this looks awesome! I love the space you have created! I have a question for ya! What if people have the decked system in their truck, would your camper still work??
Thanks! You bet. The ladder would just adjust to the new bed height. Only bummer is that the gear vault shelf would be lower. We’re actually working on a deckd like system but for overlanding.
LOVE it. What is the warranty you are going to offer from the company and/or the vendors you're sourcing supplies from. I'm always a bit hesitant to buy the first run of a product from a new company ;-) Set-up looks freaking AWESOME!!!
For someone worried about security, I would have thought you would put more engineering/locks into the side access doors. Those things look flimsy and very easy to break with a simple pry bar. Plus only having one latch/lock on the bottom is not good for security. Cool overall product though!
I think Kyle is about 6' 3". Only spot for viewing right now is our HQ in Wenatchee WA. Let us know if your in the area, we would love to show you around the warehouse! -Kecia
@@lonepeakoverland9213 I saw a set up the Super Pacific had on their tent. Looked like a zippered screen vent on the top of each side with what looks like a rain fly. I have done some cold weather camping, and I always have condensation build up on the inside if I am all buttoned up. Wonder if there is a way to fabricate something onto the top of the camper as opposed to the tent sides. Maybe something like what RSI Smartcap has on their toppers.
Do you have any pictures or video of the inside while the top is closed? Does the tent fabric hang down and get in the way? I will need the full bed of the truck to haul work stuff from time to time.
Looking great. I'm ready to slap one on my long bed Tacoma once you're up and running. :) If you are building them locally in Ellensburg I'm just over the pass and could pick it up in person to save you from having to ship?
Did the bed length come out like you wanted? I remember something about an adjustable pivot point so tall guys like me (6’3”) don’t have their feet cramped in the wedge.
I had to move the bed platform 4” away from the pivot for clearance for my feet which reduces the pass through space to 32” but it’s a good adjustment and will fit 6’3” guys and can be moved further away if you’re taller.
Yes, it's not included with the camper and is a future product. We'll probably make it pivot up and out of the way like the bed in the production version.
@@McGooIntheRock mattress is 80 inches long! That leaves about 32 inches to climb from your truck bed to the camper bed. Sleeping area and the 32inch pass through space does not change based on your truck bed length.
@@jefferymaxfield7826 The sleeping area is 80” long and dependent on if you have a full size truck or something like a Tacoma or Jeep Gladiator dictates the width. Full size trucks will have a bed that’s 54” wide and smaller trucks are 50” wide. To put in perspective, a full size bed, the one between a twin and queen bed, is 54 inches wide.
Planning on some more testing of a removeable insulation. Focus for now is on a diesel heater. Air conditioning is also in the works. The mattress depends on the truck size 50-54" X 80" -Kecia
Someone asked the same thing in Salt Lake today. We’re going to look into making another panel with a small mattress that could fill in the pass through space if you want.
@@lonepeakoverland9213 That is great to hear! Been researching different options for truck cab campers and am impressed with the amount of research and design you put into your camper. If you offer this for a Ridgeline I’ll order one the next day!
should concentrate on the camper itself for now.. showing the add ons are overwhelming. Should point out how strong is this build? is the tent made locally or from a different country?
A lot of work has been done since this video. Stay with us, we plan to have some great detail videos out of the final production model very soon. Unfortunately the tents are not made locally. We have ordered from a company in china but made sure to do plenty of first hand testing to ensure it was exactly what we wanted out of a waterproof tent. Excited to start putting these campers on come September.
The base camper is about 375lbs so it requires some work to remove and install. While this is heavy to be frequently lifting, it's fairly light for a camper. Ideally you will be able to leave the camper attached and still have the ability to use your truck bed.
Hi, I am on your pre order list however I do have more questions. 1) Is the camper designed to flow with truck model body lines or will a camper built for a 6.5 ft bed fit any truck with same lenth bed or close to same lenth? Scared I may switch trucks and have a camper that won't fit, 2) Buying a prototye is always scary, will your company provide critical updates to flaws discovered after production units hit the market? 3) With the great administration totally rapong the econemy are you still able to sale for a full size truck at the 4995.00 selling point you are advertising? If so how long will these prices stay low enough? 4) IS shipping going to cost more then Camper? :) 5) Do you plan on an easy access point on roof so clients can easily add solar panels to the roof racks? 6)I know you mentioned some plumbing being available for external set up Diesel heaters, what would that look like? Thanks and I can't wait for launch myself.
