Hey man thanks for posting the vid! I got the same setup as you except I also got the J hooks for the sticks, they lock the sticks to the stand solid! Also pack the straps separate it’s just easier all the way around

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. I JUST ORDERED THE 2022 LW .5 I PLAN TO USE TWO OF MY FULL LENGTH STICKS & ONE CABLE AIDER. USE TWO 8" SWIMMING POOL NOODLES (CAMO TAPED) BUNGY CORD DOWN ON TOP OF NOODLES. ONE NOODLE ON TOP, ONE ON THE BOTTOM. I WAS IRRITATED AND SHOCKED THEY ONLY GIVE YOU ONE STRAP FOR THE STAND TO TREE.(GREEDY). THUMBS UP!

I think this is a useful video. Wish I would have watched it before I invested. I ran the lone wolf alpha and their sticks for at least 15 years. So I totally under why you where fustrated. You want to be able to buy a premium set up and not have so much tinkering to do. Like amcables, j hooks, bungies extra packs, lol. I agrees lone wolf should have this figured out for you and they need to get rid of those straps its ancients. None the less I like my set up now just took and additional 200 dollars on top of the 1050 to get it right.

Exactly! The video is older now I have since dialed in my setup as well. But to your point I feel like the quality of their products in relation to the prices are not rising linearly. Never had to debur a treestand before but now it's double the price you do... I don't get it. It is nice tho just feel like I got ripped off.

Did my 1st hunt with the new setup everything went well and cable aiders were awesome, but I will say the seat deft is not going to cut it. I will be cutting out an extra piece of foam to go under it. After a while i was deft feeling the edges of the seat.

Hey dude! Just take the straps off when you’re packing up. I got a small pack from 5.11 that straps to under my seat. At the end of my hunt I just stuff the straps in there. Get 2 j hooks as well to secure the sticks better than the one stand cam strap. You have a bad ass rig you just don’t know it yet.

www.511tactical.com/66-padded-pouch.html I’m pretty sure this is the one I have but different color. All 4 straps fit inside perfectly. It has molle straps so you can secure it to the under side of your seat. Out of the way when you’re sitting in the stand. You can slide your phone or whatever in it if a deer comes by. Stand still folds up perfectly for pack out. Hope this helps.
@dank5580
@dank5580 3 года назад
Hey thanks for the input! I did play around with it a little more and deft agree to just remove the straps when packing it and I got some of those gear ties for the sticks. Only one thing still bugging me is I have to run the sticks with the step facing down so the aiders are facing the tops of the stand and clear the seat. Also basically means you can't sit the stand down on the ground and have it stay up anymore which was something I wanted. I'm gonna try to make it all work but if it wasn't for the price I paid for it I wouldn't be as bothered.
@4kiro0331
@4kiro0331 3 года назад
Yeah I had the same issues with the cable aiders. I ended up putting one on each side, then I put the seat on before I put the sticks on. Sucks doing all that in the dark lol
@dank5580
@dank5580 3 года назад
@@4kiro0331 I have been playing around with it I have a system now that I think is gonna work out I'm gonna start running it and go from there. The main things I changed are the sticks have to be run in the other direction so the pointed step goes down this makes it so you can close it all up but you can't sit it down flat. I also pack it w/o straps on and use gear ties to secure everything. I'll throw up a quick video and show it because I'm not as un happy with it now as I was.

Holy crap man. Why are u trying to make it more difficult? The rubber grommets just hold it Smig and silent then u gotta strap or j hook. The second thing is the cable aiders u can bend the ends little they clear the seat bat wing. Third, loose the buckles and just use the straps. I got the exact same setup and once u got it together so so much nicer than any other stand ever. Get some j hooks or just use the stand straps. Take a min and try some diff ways. Your gonna love it!!

sorry you had so many issues. I bought this stand knowing i would have to modify to my liking. Anyways all i did was add some hockey tape to cables, shrink wrap the strapping points because they were kinda sharp and add some shock cord and paracord instead of the velcro (dont understand velcro when hunting). I have the tethrd one sticks and shock cord them to the seat. Only 2 sits in and one was a full day and i think this stand is a game changer, i freaking love it.

Hey it's all good I don't mind messing with my stuff but it's a lot of money that's all. I got the new mesh seat and it didn't even fit I had to open up the mount for it and then it only locks in on part of the platform constantly pops out. Paying for innovation but quality is lacking imo.

Why go with such a small stand and then want to carry a huge pack on it??? Kind of defeats the purpose of the .5 stand. Maybe the 1.0 would’ve been a better fit for you. As far as the straps, most are running an under seat pack etc etc as was stated. This system is far more advanced and far superior to anything on the market as of now. That’s for sure.
@dank5580
@dank5580 2 года назад
I have an alpha already so I wanted something different and it's hard to really get a feel for things when you don't see them in person. Also the small stand is nice for carrying in and reducing weight but that isn't the only advantage. The stand being so small just is easier to handle and hang when up in the tree. I have made a follow up review and I do like the stand. Just made the video to help people see what it is they are buying because you can't just go to the store and see it in person.

Gotta love having the best of the best worth over 1000 and still have to invest in a better strap system and seat
@dank5580
@dank5580 2 года назад
Agreed, straps are tolerable with the weight of everything but the seat is pretty bad. Especially the size of it, just so narrow. Wish they offered a mesh replacement like on a millenium or even a climber style seat for these hang ons.

There are not many pictures if any of the .5 stand packed up and no where to see it in person. The full size sticks would sit outside the frame of the stand as well. Can't find much info on this stand all packed up I would think there would be more people seeing all this
@dank5580

I feel like the .5 stand was just an after thought and that not much actual testing went into it. They just scaled down what they had and put it out there

@@dank5580 yeah they definitely kind of screwed everyone when they decided to just start selling online instead of sporting good stores, I was on the fence about what one to get once they get back in stock but I think I’m going to lean toward the 1.0 because the standing pad is just too small seeing in the video

@@kylefahler3 so much money and so long of a wait to get also . I had to save up so long and just take a chance on it your right that it sucks not to be able to get your hands on this stuff . It's deft small. But I have the alpha so this is going to be my run and gun setup for after work and all that I didn't want to spend all the money and pretty much have the same stand I needed something super small and different. Man there are plenty vid’s on RU-vid showing how guys use this exact setup quick easy and quite. Small things like take straps off or hey your goin for super light mobile setup which is screaming for amsteel rope mods. Really looks and sounds to me you have an issue like most of us with change and seeing your alpha you gotta great system and I’m sure that wasn’t 1st try setup. Most likely over the years dialed in. How about a mystery ranch pop up pack or a kifaru striker pack and sandwich stand and steps in hauler section. You sound like your gonna use a pack anyways so look into that or if you like the lone wolf gear buy a wolf pack it’s made to integrate with there stands there are videos showing fitting seamlessly with your exact setup. Seems more like your looking for the negatives due to money spent and money spent doesn’t mean you don’t still have to work out a system.
@dank5580

First and foremost this is the nicest stand setup I have ever used. With that said when I made this video there was no indepth information showing this product really only "advertising". There are solutions to a lot of the issues if they are issues at all to anyone else. The bottom line it's all about expectations vs reality. If you think something is going to be great and it doesn't meet your expectations your going to be Un happy. If it's better then you thought it was going to be your gonna be happy. I thought at this price point that the sticks would actually stay in the stand on there own for one example. Again I've run it I've modified and added stuff it's nice but I don't want people to be surprised and working hard for my money I was initially dissapointed. It is what it is now and and I'm not still dwelling on this hating lone wolf. Hope that clears up my end and thanks for the comment!

Bud you have a $1000 hunting setup there. Please invest in a $100 camera tripod. Also get rid of those straps for your stick's and replace them with some amsteel rope. That will get rid of some weight and bulk. Also get you some 30" gear ties from Lowe's. I promise you this will help with some of your frustration. I have the same setup but in the 1.0 and long sticks. And these two mods helped me out a lot.
@dank5580
@dank5580 2 года назад
Thanks for the advise! I'll deft look into getting some type of tripod for making the videos more enjoyable to watch. This was a spur of the moment video and I apologize. I have actually put all the straps in a fanny pack and off the sticks as recommended. Tried the rope mod and found I personally prefer the straps. I did get gear ties as I show in my follow up video but even after light use I'm worried about them wearing out. At this point I'm not saying it's not a bad ass setup just saying for the money spent there are a few things i thought people should see before they buy and make their own choice if it's worth it. The issues all have fixes as you and others have stated but when you can't get your hands on it in person I was hoping people could have a better understanding of what they are getting. You watch Ata show videos and they never have this exact setup shown nor do they ever show that the sticks need to be secured. Not a big deal to me at this point but maybe to others.

@@dank5580 I definitely feel the same way about the setup as you. For that kind of money it should be tweaked up a little. Ever since I picked up the beast sticks and a tethered phantom my LWCG setup has been collecting dust. Now I'm waiting on the beast stand to show up at my front door. That's the rabbit hole of new hunting gear. There's always money disappearing from the old checking account.
@dank5580
@dank5580 2 года назад
Yeah that was my whole point I didn't necessarily pay to have another stand thats lighter it was the whole packing system that sold me but it's really not thant advance when you get it in your hands. However the stand is crazy light but at $1000 the weight alone is a tough sell. Plus they even say in some ATA show the 1.0 was tested and the .5 was the same thing just scaled down. Except they didn't put the tow rope mounts on it and a the pack hanger is pretty much useless except to remove some weight. I probably would have bought a beast stand if I could go back. Been watching Dan's videos for a long time and I wouldn't mind supporting a guy like that.
