I think that a small part of Billie drew comfort from the fact that she could retreat to her mind in order to get away from the madness of other people.
@@MarinaAndTheDevil Maybe, but then again, my mom's had a dark sense of humor forever, and she's 62. And she got that sense of humor from *her* mother. So... some of us are like Bane, born and raised in the darkness 😂
Got to agree. Not all of their jokes land, but they're absolute masters at this dark turn humour or humour where a normal situation escalates further and further.
This was one of the better skits in a while! I am not a musical fan of Billie but she did very on her SNL appearance. This will be a Christmas classic!
A Christmas classic? LOL. No, this show is horrible and one performance that you like, doesn’t make it a classic. This will be memory holed, as it should. Eff this show.
@@btshatepage She's not really a comedian, and doesn't seem to have any acting credits of note that I can see. I guess she's primarily a singer, but I really haven't followed music for about twenty years, so I'm not familiar with any of her work, off-hand. Obviously, she must have some popularity to get a hosting gig.
@@TimThomason yeh she’s a singer and been around for a few years (since she was 13) but only blew up massively 2019. She’s got quite a unique style and has won 7 Grammys these past 2 years (including back to back song of the year) as well as doing the new James Bond song etc...
Wrong moral of the story is America will not be all it is supposed to be as long as people like Margaret are with us. The skit is on point since many such odious people are elderly and not long for this world....fortunately.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I learned she was going to be acting in these, but oh my god she’s great! The facial expressions were amazing and made this skit 5x funnier
The music has been changed from the Smiths cover, such a shame as it was so much better; did anyone download the original version? Would love to get a copy of it.
Omg, is that Amilia Warner's (Jamie Dornan's wife) cover of The Smith's Song??! I'm so glad it's finally getting some recognition; it's the best cover I've heard
The video you're pointing too is not even in the same key as whatever song is playing in this sketch. Lyrics are also totally different. The voice is the only thing that seems like a match. The false info about the song has spread like wildfire. If anyone knows what the song actually is, we haven't heard from them yet (as of 10/2/23).
1. That was genuinely good. 2. Totally serious about this: We all *need* to know more about the back-story of "Margaret" and "Rutger". Just the little breadcrumbs dropped so far are better than the last several years of "American Horror Story". Just sayin'.
Kate is a GIFTED performer. You just believe everything she does, you get drawn into the character/story/jokes and have the best fun without cringing like with most actors/comedians. That’s serious talent. Pretty hard to do. Billie will make an insane actress in something dark. I say “WILL” bc the universe just HAS to align to put her into film.
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL FUNNY SAD & CRAZY 🤪 I'M FEELING EUPHORIA & MELANCHOLY AT THE SAME TIME. THIS SHOULD HAVE LIKE 5 6 OR 7 MILLION VIEWS JUST ON THE CHRISTMAS THEME ALONE
Me in the beginning: “ Okay I think the plot twist is that she murdered her husband (guy in the picture frame) which is why she’s alone” Me at the middle: “Oh she’s just a horrible person” Me at the end: “So she’s a horrible person and she killed her husband”
OooooooGgggaaaawwwsdddd this was hilarious cause Home Depot just linked up with Next door to share where all the Christmas lights were going to be this year… I just got the email!!!!!! I’m glad I accidentally clicked on this one. Really needed this chuckle. SNL does it once again.
Oh wow! Thanks for that info. I just watched this video for the first time and wondered if this was Billie singing. I've been on a wild goose chase for an hour or so digging through incorrect "info" about the song. The RU-vid links put forward as being the source are manifestly wrong, so I was about to conclude that either I'm going crazy or the current version of the video uses a different song and give up the looking for the original. Thanks so much (from October 2023) for letting me know I'm not nuts.
wow, the Smiths' cover was incredible! for those who didn't know, Billie sang the main song from the latest Bond film (No Time to Die) - and playing guitar on that song was Johnny Marr.
