I made it as far as the Magician before I paused this to order the deck. For any interested, it is (or was when I ordered it) still available on Etsy, but there is a note in the item details that says once the remaining copies are sold, she won’t be making any more so get it while you can. Thank you Simon for a fabulous video and for helping me (by making me aware of it) get the deck before it sold out. Exquisite was the word that came to my mind too.
The Hermit’s Cave You’re welcome. I got the deck today! My only regret is that I didn’t buy two copies for a backup. This deck is absolutely glorious. Thank you so much for being it to my attention.
I backed this on kickstarter & I absolutely adore it. I was more excited to get this deck than most of the others I have been receiving in my delayed postage splurge. It called me from my first sight of the page & it is even more stunning in person. I really enjoyed your walkthrough, as I always do.xx
Wow...what a beautifully illustrated artistic deck. I love it...every card is as exquisite as the next one. The colours and images draw you into the story and as you zoomed in I could see the linen texture which is great. Enjoyed your music and walk through, so thank you.
Wonderful walkthrough Simon - I was wondering when your copy would arrive :) I absolutely adore the deck, it has a special presence about it which draws you in. The Dreamer card is Odilons depiction of Buddha in his youth, and the untitled art card is Andromeda. There is going to be a companion oracle for this deck coming up on kickstarter at some point, so keep an eye out for that :)
I have to say, I really loved this walk through Simon, It is so peaceful and relaxing to watch. I loved the close up of the Hermit, you can literally see the canvass on which the image has been painted. What a really peaceful and meditative deck. Thank you for sharing this. I love it. That devil card really does portray the 'Fallen Angel'. Oh Simon, it looks like this could be going onto my 'must buy' list. Thanks again for the relaxing half an hour. Now to prepare for tonight's quiz. Take care my friend xxx
@@the_hermits_cave Would you believe it, we (six of my most dearest friends who are scattered across the UK ) and I, have been doing a quiz since the start of lock down in March. We meet weekly on a Tuesday and for the first time I won tonight. Must chat to you re an occurrence yesterday. Very strange yet amazing at the same time. Becca too if we can xxx
The Artist of these cards are Odilon Redon (1840-1916) who was born in Bordeaux, a French Symbolist painter and artist. Early in his career, both before and after fighting in the Franco-Prussian War, Redon worked almost exclusively in charcoal and lithography, works known as his noirs. He gained recognition after his drawings were mentioned in the 1884 novel À rebours by Joris-Karl Huysmans.
Simon, did you notice there are 2 different 8 of Wands cards? After much discussion through Kickstarter Melissa left it for us to choose which 8 of Wands to use. Both are wonderful! I finally received my deck yesterday and enjoyed your comments on this beautiful deck. Thank you. ❤️🥰
Stunning deck!! I love the colors and the art! I have had my eye on this deck for quite some time. I finally placed my order tonight!!! This is the 3rd and final edition! I am thrilled!
Simon, Thanks for sharing these. I wasn't certain how I feel about them. I love Odilon Redon's work and the colors in these cards are beautiful. I'm just not sure. I'm having a very melancholic reaction to them and hope they don't send me into deep depression. Anyway, out of a FOMO, I decided to bite the bullet and order them as they're limited. I may have a completely different reaction handling them, or I can always find them a good home if they don't resonate with me, but I didn't want to miss the chance if I later find I'd fallen in love with them and find they were no longer available. Ah, the dilemmas of indie decks in limited editions.
Hello Simon & Friends, first of all, I will thank you for inspiring me so much that I try to create a Channel in the German Language about Tarot, Oracle, and Co. This Deck is soooo beautiful...and my first thought was: This would be a fantastic deck for shadow work...instantly connect !
What a gorgeous deck! The ethereal quality of The Dreamtime just ooozes out of every card. As a longtime dream journaler I instantly connect with this deck. I’m fascinated by this artist. Must research him more. So glad you were gifted this deck to share with us, Simon.
These are really lovely. I managed to miss the Kickstarter and they are already sold out on Etsy. Alas, this one was not to be in my collection, it seems. 😥
