Love this game, and that checkpoint system is the backbone of it’s gameplay. I love unlocking trails by taking them slow, then going back and trying all the shortcuts for my best time. I’ve been so lucky in a couple sections to set the daily and even weekly best times, and it is so rewarding.

Glad this game is still getting some love on RU-vid. This is one of my favorites. Such a peaceful game that's also frustrating at the same time. Check out the Art of Rally if you are not busy. I consider it the car version of this. Great video, Definitely great for busy people.

art of rally is a great title too, and definitely in the same boat as LMD, however i felt AOR was a little grindy/repetitive. I loved the physics and the feel of finally nailing different sections of the tracks, but they really all just felt like visual variations on very similar routes.

I enjoy Lonely Mountains Downhill a lot. I also play it with my 6 yo daughter. A similar game, in terms of short term uncomplicated fun, is the "Trials" series. I like trials fusion the most. The entry levels are super easy, later levels get progressively harder and its equally challanging and rewarding.

Love your videos and really appreciate your niece category, I played many games from this playlist already, and I really enjoyed them. Hats off to you. I recommend you check out The Witness - open world puzzle with great art style where you set the pace yourself, I loved the peace it provided me with. Keep up the good work!

A similar, more arcady feeling mountain bike game would be "Descenders". It's got bite-sized levels with some decent progression, as well as other game types (tricks, races, pathfinding, etc.) I played the crap out of LMD and Descenders, when I haven't touch a mountain bike in 20 years. They're definitely games that don't look too appealing right off the bat, but are very addictive (in a calming way).
