I was about to reply with some foolish quip about this being a “contrafact” of that tune (a new tune based on the previous chord progression), but then I went and checked out the GREAT original, and sure enough, it’s the same tune! Not just the same feel and chord progression; they are also copying the melody I *think*. Although I think you legally have to use 7 or more notes of the melody in a row for it to be considered plagiarism, unless it’s officially a “quote” or “sample” within another tune and the proper credit is given and royalties paid . But this is no sample. This is basically a backing track for kareoke of that Wallflowers song.
Sounds almost like a bit of Song Of The South in there too. Song, Song Of The South Sweet potato pie and I shut my mouth Gone, gone with the wind There ain't nobody lookin' back again
Yes; it was good to finally find out what track he used. It sounds so much like the Wallflowers 6th Avenue Heartache, and like the intro to a recent country song that uses a similar riff.
This royalty free song is better than most songs that are annoying and repetitive. This is a song just missing some good lyrics. Oh yeah o believe the Wall Flowers already did that.
