that's great music from a four man band. i always liked the lonesome river band and that was one of my favorite memberships. they've all been good and sammy maintained the same great sound thru the years. thanks for the post.
When I hear this line-up and Tyminsky playing mando, singing tenor in the freaking key of B-I get a little peeved at Alison Krause taking him and making him a rhythm guitar player. Grr.

I'm not going to lie... I like Shelor's pickin on the hard drive songs a little better than any of Bela Fleck or Jim Mills stuff... Who else is there...? No one! HA Sorry Jim!
@@craigjcowan To be a bit more accurate, Mills is beyon hard driving, at times almost a little too aggressive. If you've ever been in a room with just his banjo, it is so loud it's almost insufferable. The music suffers a little because of that.
I'm certainly a Mills fan, but Jim is more Scruggs style while Sammy drew his style from listening to a lot of old time fiddlers. Sammy has always been in my top 5 all time banjo pickers. This line up right here was the best!
If it wasn't Dan, Alison would have found someone else with equal talent, but I'm glad Dan got the job. He brought with him an edge that she was in need of. Her voice had gotten soft & she needed something to help balance out her sound. Dan was that balance & he brought so much versatility to the table as well!!!!!!!
