Don’t you know that poverty is now a virtue signal. The people on that boat didn’t each kick in $300 to rent it for the evening, or some guy that went to university for 7 years and got his MBA and 25 years later had the money to buy it or……….. why waste a virtue signal waiting for facts. Lol
Boats don’t use headlights, however, they do require green and red port/starboard navigation lights on the bow, and a white light on a pole on the stern, while traveling at night. Marine gps and charts, will tell you where all the jetties and inlets are in great detail. Clearly, he didn’t pay any attention to those tools at hand.
@@carolaguilera6911 Captain failed to have a lookout or drove unnecessarily fast for the conditions that lead to death/injuries. Something along those lines. Now, they appear to be all friends, but when big payouts are possible, who knows what will happen.
Bruh, someone died, yet the comments are about blaming rich people. The mental of a newt in these comments is astounding. Rich or Poor, someone lost their life. Maybe its people typing that have never lost someone close, nor values life(seek help)... my condelences to those of that loved one that was lost.
@@bigfoot163 At night, it's not so easy and the electronics (GPS, FLIR, radar) only go so far. You drive slow when approaching fixed objects in the dark, b/c the rocks and the dark sea blend as one until it's too late.
People who VALUE life don’t play stupid games to win the coveted of all stupid prizes. When basic common sense finds the humor in the moronic actions of others which sometimes leads to unfortunate results, it is what it is. You say there is no reason for the cynics out here while we say their no reason to drink, drive in the blinding dark, hit emplaced obstacles and die. You go ahead and cry about it. While others will look towards the next idiot who didn’t need to die but offered themselves up by their choices in life.
A boat that big has radar, gps and probably auto pilot. Captain didn’t know where he was and going too fast. The lawyers will be busy. The boat owner and or captain are sunk.
RIP. i walk a jetty almost every day during the heart of the fishing season. to say they are dangerous is an understatement. had some guys in the fog this morning going way too fast. ignorance is bliss until you smack into that thing. at night you need to either be extremely skilled and familiar with the area, or at the dock. those boats are desgined to get up on a plane and out to the fishing grounds. good chance this dude was going 25-30+ mph. maybe as fast as 40-50 if they were hot dogging around.
Speed. Alcohol. Inattention. But what about navigation? I am curious what chart plotter is used, if it was functional, and if the helmsman knew how to use it?
So nobody at the wheel? I'd say whoever touched the wheel and throttle last will be in a world of hurt(court) soon, well, unless it was the dead man,his hurt is all done.
Maybe don't put a bunch of drunks on a boat, especially the type that don't know how to drive one sober, especially the type that don't wear life jackets when on board any seafaring vessel not tied up to a berth. RULE #1. LIFE VESTS ARE ON AT ALL TIMES ON SMALL SEAFARING CRAFT THAT ARE NOT CRUISE OR CARGO SHIPS.
Shouldn't of let it sink now everything is wet inside after hitting the rocks they should of went to the boat ramp that way it wouldnt sink and everyone could get off easier well all but one
@@andycasarez9578 at the :15 sec mark, I can see light posts at the end of each jetty. These are so boats can find the waterway in the dark. Captain really FU to not understand where he was. Sounds like some people were standing on the deck and got thrown full speed to dead stop on those rocks.
