I wanted to thank you all for your beautiful comments in honor of my dad. I’ve watched this video so many times since his recent passing and it just doesn’t feel real. I’m grateful for treasures like these and for you, his loyal fans, who have carried us thru a very difficult couple of weeks with your outpouring support. I don’t know myself how I managed to do Liveline the day he passed suffice it to say I know he’d have wanted me to. He never closed the doors on his fans and this was no exception. On behalf of my entire family, thank you for your support 💙🙏
Sorry about you Dad Melanie, I remmeber watching Two Sides Of Grace when RTE first showed it in the 80's, with my Mum and Dad, the tears were running down our faces with laughter and taking a pain in the side, we laughed that much. That was the day I recorded it onto a video and we watched it every so often untill it was near played out, my niece named her dog Molly after one of the songs Irish Molly, he was a great entertainer, an original no bad language, a true gentleman, you can see from the comments what he meant to other people too, I know it will be hard for you's, my parents passed away this decade, it never goes away, but it might ease a bit, take care, my condolence to the Family circle
Great singer and lovely tribute to you Melanie, what a beautiful thing to be able to look back on. I just wanted to say that your Dad may not be here anymore but his legacy is still reaching people, I was playing his sketches to my mother who is unfortunately in the Hospice in the Curragh at the moment and it cheered her up a lot I have to say. I used to play them also for my father in law who died 2 years ago in the same Hospice, he was a big Brendan Grace fan and it used to give him a real boost watching those old clips. RIP Brendan, your memory and comedy legacy lives on. Peace & Love from Kildare
I met your Beautiful dad, a long time ago, In galway, he was absolutely amazing and everytime I saw him on the telly, I would love to tell everyone, I met Brendan Grace, and then I heard my uncle met him, and my great granny's surname was Grace, and they had a connection ❤💙♥💖
Thank you for your lovely comments everyone. I'm Melanie, the little girl on the stool! I remember this night so vividly. I didn't understand the lyrics but I remember feeling sad probably because like someone mentioned in the comments he sang it with such emotion & I just felt happy I could be on stage with my him! It's a memory I'll treasure forever. Happy to say I still enjoy collaborating with my father to this day but my own sons steal the limelight with him these day! Many thanks & my dad is forever grateful to his loyal fans xxx

Hi Melanie, i have this beautiful song of you and your dad still on a video tape from christmas 1985. It was part of a christmas special your dad made with some excellent comedy sketches included. Hard to believe it is over 31 years ago, but though we all inevitably succumb to old mother time , we however can revisit our youth through music and memories and that part of our being remains ageless. Johnny Mcevoy a fellow Offaly man wrote this song, so beautiful yet so sad. But much beauty rose from the ashes of sadness. Thanks for this beautiful memory, best wishes Seán!
+elizajohn5 thanks so much for that Sean! It's a treasured memory indeed. Hasn't time just flown by? And thanks for confirming the year! I was 7 years old and 32 years later, I remember it like yesterday.
Your late dad was a singer and made his fans very happy he did huge amount of charity work through out his own bad health and your own family helped him out which he enjoyed every moment of it more so he loved each one of ye special to your mom his own wife

Hi all I will never forget the first time I went for a walk with Brendan when he used to come to Scarriff in the South West of Ireland and he Big black van was backed into to get all the Gear set up for the performance that night and I was there and I went for a walk with Brendan down through the big Hotel car park and I just couldn't believe this the first time this happened and I collected all his cassettes he had brought out and I have these memories when I was young child and this happened everytime Brendan came to Scarriff and I was just still can't get over his passing and what he done for my Mother when my Dad passed away in 2007 but I wasn't there then because of my illness and if he had known then of the same connection's Thanks for everything Brendan I know you are still with us in Mind, Heart, and Soul I am not able to tell anyone about this situation it's too hard to take this thanks Brendan for your help and time going back and giving me these Beautiful Memories of our past lives I won't even think I will see my 50th Birthday
I sat beside Mr. Grace on an Aer Lingus flight many years ago. We chatted briefly. I was struck with his desire just to be at home with his family. A comic genius and a great singer. RIP
This is amazing, thank you. He traveled home after every gig because he hated being away from us for any longer than he needed to be. He was as dedicated to his family as he was to his career. Sorely missed 🥹
A father’s pure love for his daughter shines thru’ like a beacon - may he RIP, very sad Melanie but what a treasure..... I never met him in person but somehow my heart is bursting for the the kind of man & father he so obviously was.
I remember as a young teenager doing the Bottler skits. To this day I still use this phrase stup, are ya stupped.. form the Grada pulling the joy riders. "Who was driving?. "None of us we were all in the back!"

Rest in peace Brendan, you used your gifts to give us a lift, thank you, what an amazing singing voice and memory you had. I returned home the day you passed to find the book of jokes you gave me in Tuam on my bed, so I feasted on them and laughed myself to sleep. Don't know how the book got there, keep up those surprises from your place of rest

I have always loved this song, and Brendan's version of it. He has such a lovely voice, and I was able to find a couple of LP's and CD's with him singing. The LP that has this song on it, if I remember correctly has a photo from this video with Brendan and Melanie on the cover. Have seen Brendan many times from Wexford to San Diego and love the show every time!
