That was pretty wild, sketchy spots but very cool. There doesn't seem to be much of a vertical support structure designed into these shafts, careful in those open spaces the deeper you go. The ceiling is carrying a lot of weight.

Agreed mate. Very little ground support throughout the entire mined orebody. We could see where it once stood, but it's since been stripped out when that part of the mine was inactive. Please stay tuned for the next two episodes, as in early December we find a 40 metre high chamber that still has the supports set. It's mind blowing how big they are.

Not sure where you are but I would be guessing around Irvinebank/ Herberton area. I gre up here in the 80’s when there was still a lot of family owned and run mines. These were two man operations, air leg operations and shovelling the ore into small rail carts then on to blitz trucks. I can remember going underground in these operational mines when I was a kid.

That would have been some pretty special memories MJ. I think this area will have a modern resurgence of mining as a global tin shortage is predicted for 2025 based off current global tin production. Thanks for following our adventures
