This is it, the Queen stage. The Tour de Romandie will explode on day five, with no less than five Cat-1 climbs on the agenda, joined by a not-so-friendly Cat-2 test just for the heck of it! Will there be a big GC shakeup today?

Higuita looked like a little boy who jumped in the race to ride with his heroes there. Cycling is like soccer in that respect, you can be any size at all and still find a place in the peloton.

I thought at first wtf Bora just signing random 4* climbers using freed up money but if it goes like this for the rest of the season these two might be the best transfers of the last 10 years

@@danielkol477 yeah true, they are bringing in so many points, i think the only other victories have been from kämna. I think now he has two for bora. But the giro is coming up and bora will score again. Like in the 2021 sqaud they had guys who could potentially come top 5 in any race and top 10 in grandtours but rarely big actual victories. Now they brought in so fantastic riders who do so much for the team

@KENTA_GTS well bora would exist but yeah he s a great rider being mentioned a lot which helped massivly to establish bora as one of the great teams. I m a sagan fan hope he delivers big time at the tour, i m just saying in terms of performance- this was the right decision by bora. Ralph denk often said he wants bora to become more gc focused which luckily worked out as it appears. Not gonna say anything bad about sagan though😅

Powless really cracked in the last 200 meters, still moved into the top 10 but if he’d just stayed with the front group he’d be in the top 5. Here’s hoping he’s got a better time trial than some of the guys in front of him.

*Higuita seems to be a Grade A - Hole.* Not only is he dangerous in his lack of control when sprinting (ref Volta ao Algarve Queen stage and a couple other finish line sprints), here he is moving all the way across the road - despite the left turn - to eff his own teammate. (Ironically,) it's the Russian showing magnanimity.

Its status as ‘Queen’ is chosen beforehand. You can’t retrospectively decide it wasn’t hard enough. 4000m of climbing - pretty tough on anyone’s book.

Vlasov seemed to voluntarily not overtake Higuita and celebrated for him, look at the first minute after the win where they celebrated together

He looks over at 2:54 and clearly recognises his teammate slightly ahead of him - so he's not even ahead when he raises his hands to celebrate and slows his cadence.
