Perhaps a better term than Dramedy would be the opposite portmanteau: Coma

I laughed a few times, I admit, but it’s a dreadful film that does not work. And as for O’Shea Jackson Jr NOT being underwritten?? Just nonsense. He should have been the lead, angry fozzy bear the 2d friend . Then it just might have worked.

Judd Apatow did not make this movie. Long Shot was written by Dan Sterling and Liz Hannah and directed by Jonathan Levine.

That's unbelievable. I don't think I've ever seen Kermode give a review like that. Agreed though. Thought it was brilliant.

Hate to be contrary, but it was so predictable as to be disappointing. Seth playing Seth for the 14th time; megadrug scene to trigger the third act (which got me excited, but that only lasted one phone call to a 'Qashtari); cookie cutter Seth Rogan stuff he could do in his molly blackout by now. She's great, Seth's great, but the film was mediocre. I rarely find any review of Mark's misleading, but I want my Saturday matinee time back. Or an LCD sense of humour.

Can't believe this film was made......It is dire. Seth Rogan plays himself The incredibly attractive powerful star of the story falls for his elusive charms. He cannot believe that she feels the same way, she does. They take drugs and do not die. The end.

saw it yesterday on vod.. a tacky romantic comedy with a lot of grossness and an inexcusable portrayal of drug abuse.. but with a liberal agenda. enthusiast about Long Shot but later finding The Hunt lackluster? mmm...

Mark please review Unplanned. I know it doesn't fit with the left wing ideological culture of the BBC, but that's no excuse not to review a movie that is doing well in the US box-office despite a media blackout.

Why would they review a parochial piece of propaganda about an issue that is almost entirely irrelevant outside the US and other Christian fundamentalist audiences?

No, this is a bad movie. The relationship is distractingly implausible but utterly formulaic and there are no actual jokes, just a lot of inappropriate things said with no relevance to actual conversations.

4:05 Pretty sure the term "character actor" represents actors who tend to play the same type of character in most of their films. Not just "an actor who plays a character".
@GUV85
@GUV85 5 лет назад
The term is usually applied to actors who have very different roles in everything they're in. Very rarely are they leading men/women but they are very versatile.

John Lithgow is a brilliant character actor, as are Tilda Swinton, Gary Oldman, Jeff Daniels, Sally Hawkins, Michael Sheen, Toby Jones, Paul Dano, Julie Walters and Sam Rockwell, among others. Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Pete Postlethwaite were also brilliant character actors. Michael Shannon is a brilliant character actor who's now, unfortunately, been typecast as the overly intense, psychotic bad guy. The greatest character actor of all time is Daniel Day-Lewis.
