hey guys, sorry I did not check the uploaded version properly, there are some footage in the video that are frozen, but u can hear the sound of the footage because they are supposed to be moving in the project, but my PC was having issues when rendering this project (its in the repair shop now), so it froze my clips without me knowing and I missed them. They happened here: 9:28 the clip froze when I'm showing the draw attack spirit blade 1 (no big deal) 19:28 the clip was supposed to show the hits spreading to unwanted spots when multiple body parts are within the striking path, but its frozen (this one is important, sry)
Not only are these the best MHW weapon guides, but they are also made for us forgotten mouse and keyboard players! Thank you so much for continuing these!
Na fr though this makes me so happy. I've never been a console fan despite playing ps3 and 4 for a lot of my childhood i always felt more comfortable with mouse and keyboard as i just felt like i had more precision and reacted faster but man a lot of games have god awful pc controls
Most players on PC are mkb. The controls are actually really good. I'm like the lone controller player in my group on PC because the souls series convinced me that action RPGs are bad with mkb. How wrong was I lol.
Amazing tutorial. Even I, as a LS main, learned something new. All info is relevant and good paced. I'll recommend you if somebody will search for a guide. It's a bit early, but I'll wait for the guides same quality for Wilds 😄
My friends have gotten me to play MHW with them, a series I've never played before and they all have, and I recently picked up the long sword. Man, do I ever wish this tutorial was around when I did! Not only is it broken down nicely for noobs it also covered stuff I had to watch multiple videos for and I STILL learned new so things! I knew foresight slash was important (and I'm still bad at using it) but I didn't realize how important until now. Also the amount of times my helmbreaker missed because I was too far back or the monster flinched??? really wish I knew sooner that I could move forward with it! Fantastic tutorial! I'm definitely taking notes for our next play session
Glad you found the guide useful for you. Everyone knows foresight slash is useful but rarely have I seen people discuss or teach about how changing the direction and angle of foresight slash can really change your gameplay. And yea you can move a little during helmbreaker.
Absolute GOAT, you're the best for making these 🔥 I'm an IG main and Gunlance + ranged weapons are the only ones I'm totally uncomfortable with at this point... Can't wait to see one of those from you
Thank you so much! With my upcoming schedule, new guides are looking unlikely for now. New stuff happening irl. But always appreciate the support buddy!
HE HAS RETURNED, MONHUN-GUIDE-JESUS HAS RETURNED!! (i started playing maining swaxe and horn thanks to your videos, helped me solo even fatalis all thanks to you!! gonna ever do a guide for glaive?)
Thanks! Glad u liked them. To be completely honest with u, glaive is not currently in the timeline, i barely have time to edit cause of real life so i cant even say for sure what i will release next. I will do my best
This video is a gem. Thank you so much Mister TorpedoSoup. I've been searching for a comprehensive video for so long regarding ANY weapon and this one is the best one by a long shot. You've managed to provide such in-depth info regarding the weapon mechanics without needing the listener to already know how the game works. I'm a brand new player (played for less than a week) and I've managed to gather so much useful information from this, it's honestly stunning. You, Sir, have made a long sword main out of me. Heading to the training area asap.
glad to hear that because my goal for these guides is to provide both the basics as well as some advanced tips so that new and old players can benefit, so this actually makes me happy.
Thank you. I think some people just like to complain instead of moving on from content they don’t like. I can respect people preferring a human voice, but you can tell these are just senseless complains just for the sake of it. They choose to pick on the one thing that don’t matter instead of focusing on the actual content. Using an AI voice gives me 1 less variable to worry about when it comes to quality control, so that i can focus purely on delivering the information that matters.
amazing explaination, very good video... and i understand everything thank you.. you just got new subscriber💥👏👍 And for your information sheate slash only open when you have monster hunter iceborne DLC, the skill will still locked.. already search it on internet and try it its failed in MHW
Great great guide mate, appreciated. I'm a returning hunter, after like 5 years of break. Heard about Wilds is gonna release soon so I wanted to get back into shape and clear that Iceborne dlc which I havent before. I loved Longsword and was decent with it but I'm so rusty, needed to remember what's up and this video explains everything perfectly, thank you.
Amazing Video. I've been playing this game for about 40h now and after watching this Video I just realized how ineffectively I've been using the longsword. This is going to improve my Gameplay by a ton. Thanks a lot !
I've watched a lot of guides for MH over the years and this one may be the best. I love all the little details that most people never talk about (like amount of spirit gauge generated from different attacks) Thanks for the great video, and the PC controls
I suck at doing damage with my weapons, I hope when I switch to longsword a new weapon that I will kill monsters more easily especially the shrieking Legiana I am still at (it fled) but the information quality of this video is pretty good so I'm looking into it tomorrow
@@BruteShot-od2wz bring flinch free. Every weapon can flinch u, not just the long sword. They just get blamed more cause of the weapons long reach, but flinching isn’t unique to the longsword. There are weapons that can launch u into the air and thats worse, and cannot be blocked by any level of flinch free.
@@torpedosoup lol I know it comes down to the player, but 90% of the time its the LS who goes for the head and gets in the hammer’s way, or just doesnt understand what sleeping the monster is, my dislike for them is long into mh4u when I started playing with randoms, just a trend I’ve noticed with them really not helping in teams
Amazing, could you one day do a video on bows? i feel like even though I've progressed a lot there is a ton I don't know about bow usage. Especially on keyboard and mouse😅
Damn, Azure Star heard me when I yelled at the clear blue sky asking for proper updated guides for MHW:I You are the best, my brother in Rathalos! Keep’em coming! Btw if you are reading this - please stay safe - we need you when Wilds will come out❤ I have watched your Swax, CB and now LS guides, trying to find my new main weapon (after 1st trying Barioth I understood that my Insect Glaive is too efficient in steamrolling the monster, so I’m attempting self imposed challenge). As I watch everything is so smooth and kinda simple - then I try it in the field to get my ass smacked. Props to you nether the less! You have a talent in writing, montaging and showcasing! Please more showcases in real battles btw lol
@@mohanmc1681 im glad you found these guides useful. Thanks a lot for the support bro, i hope i have more free time when wilds is out too as im currently busy with irl work. i will try nevertheless, cheers
Man I really want to thank you for the work you are putting in this videos. Found out your channel with HH guide and it helped so much, then I picked up CB thanks to your guide and had great fun with it, and recently I hoped you would upload the LS, and boom, here we are, perfect timing. Hands down best weapon guides on yt, godspeed 🙏
Oh wow perfect timing then. Thanks for the kind words dude im glad you found the guides useful, thats the best thing to hear for someone who making guides
This guide is incredible. Jam packed with useful information. I love how detailed and specific each move is explained. Goes over all the important stuff. Damn i was doing longsword all wrong!😂
thanks so much for this! I have World and Iceborne on my steam but have yet to play them (Currently playing Rise on gamepass). But i want to ask, are the iai sheathe and clutch claw from the iceborne expansion can be used from the start of the base game? Because I really love Iai sheathe in Rise
I experiment with this weapon and see the accomplishment it is, in a simple resume is beatiful. I'm glad to see a guide about the Sword And Shield, because is my favorite weapon
Please do this with every class hehe. Not even capping these are the best tutorials. I main sns cuz it's fun and straight forward but I'd love to dive into either the ranged weapons or the heavy hitting ones
Why i cant A/D/S + right click Always show W + right click when i click A/D/S I mean i want try backstab combo S + right click (SnS combo). But always show W + right click
LS doesnt have combos that specifically require S (backwards). you add S you will just change the direction of the attack. If you are trying to back step with SNS, there are few ways: 1. sheathed or not attacking : Ctrl+S+right click 2. After attacks: S+rightclick 3. After rolling: right click Keep in mind Ctrl is the guard button, whichever yours is, and S actually means backwards of the character, so its not always S, it depends which side you face.
Atlas best vid ever and very well explain, idk why but my pc the ctrl is the first button on mouse but now I know ctrl is that what I don't know is what space is so wasn't doing the counter hit
@@danielmaldonado6388 yea check the table i included in the intro. If u bought your game recently you have the new keys, ctrl will be mouse 5 for u. Spacebar is just the dodge button. If u dont own iceborne u cannot do the special sheathe
Great guide as usual. Nice! Would like to add, overhead slash > fadeslash > spirit jumping slash > thrust > SB3 > roundslash is slightly faster than step slash > overhead > fade slash >spirit combo. The only downside to this is if you didn't hit a weakspot cause you will have insufficient gauge.
You need to level up the spirit gauge level, not just fill it up. It needs to be a minimum of white, preferably red, for helmbreaker. Check the spirit gauge chapter if you’re unsure
your guides are criminally underrated. While i do dislike the AI voiceover, the amount of detail you go into with each weapon is unmatched, the bigger youtubers should watch you and take notes man, none of them can make a guide even remotely as informative and to the point as you have.
@@Taze00 haha, i appreciate what u said here but unfortunately i dont think its realistic to expect bigger youtubers to do this. Because frankly I think my type of project is not profitable if views and revenue is what they are after. They need fast content and hot topics to capitalize on algorithm. The AI voice over is something i chose after trying and struggling with my voice, i know it pushes some ppl away but i dont really mind, my priority is clarity of information. Some ppl would still rather hear a real persons voice despite their accent and pronunciation being near impossible to understand, which i can respect, but i prefer clarity.
@@torpedosoup fair enough, if AI voiceover is a necessity, then i can't really blame you for using it, the guides was extremely good regardless. While true about the youtube algorithm, many of the bigger MH youtubers do try to make as informative of a guide as they can, but having watched yours i can confidently say they fell short, i started playing on MHW release, and racked up quite a lot of playtime in world and rise and just came for refreshers after a long break, but man i learned things i never knew in some of your guides, the LS was the only weapon it turns out i knew everything beforehand. Anyways, hope you'll make more guides as MH Wilds releases and you get familiar with the new systems 👍
Just stated to play LS, and wanted to have a proper guide to learn every details about the weapon. That's the best guide I've ever seen, keep up the good work man, ty soooo much
LS is the only melee weapon I don't know how to play yet. It didn't really catch my interest but what does catch my interest is to learn every weapon and this video is the best oportunity ever, love ya!
Wanted to say Thank You cause in a round a bout way you made 2 HH mains,my Master a small Streamer called Teco learned HH because of your HH Montage video and now i'm learning the basics and advanced techs with him. Ironically i'm an LS main that's why I was surprised to see this video especially since I learned about you 2 days ago because of my Master.
very glad to hear that! oh yes I do play all the weapons I just main HH and play it more. The reason the guides come so late is because of how long it takes to make each of them, pretty much impossible to release 1 weapon right after another.
Bro it's literally just a part of the game, a lot of people figured it out without any sort of guide, putting one person as the one who figured it out is not only extremely difficult but also pointless, I found out about it day 1 on accident, didn't fully understand it but I used it. Idk why you thought he should when it's pointless and incredibly tedious since most people who used it figured it out day one
