@@TEOTIA_HR lol , my cousins hatchback got damaged because there were potholes on the highway .this happened recently . Sedans are unfortunately not very practical, suv type high ground clearence is much more practical.
People often speak about the lack of storage space, but no one has ever spoken about how much space you have under the middle row of seats. There is a huge space. In South Africa we only get the normal 7-seater version and not the second row captain’s seats(must say they look great). Under my middle row of seats I can fit a 4-meter Jumper Cable, tow ropes and tie down straps, small fire extinguisher, foldable spade, small First Aid kit, a 1/4” drive socket set, air compressor, black bags for rubbish, toilet paper and a bag that contains a hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, wire, cable ties, larger socket wrench and basic socket sizes, saw, spanners, fire lighters and a lighter. They all fit under the seat. What is also great is that you can fit longer pipes, fishing rods or planks in the boot as they can pass through that space between the floor board and seat. It is very handy.
That sounds like a really useful space! Coming from a Ute you get less space but I still think it works well. I’m sure we’ll get a 7 seat version in Australia soon :)
A RU-vidr and blogger "Indian Backpacker" recently, went from India to Australia in Scorpio n top model. Earlier too, he had traveled from India to London in the same car. All videos are are available on his channel. This proves how reliable this car is.
My family owns a Mahindra Scorpio-N. It's huge, amazing, and that go anywhere attitude is something I always look for in my car with a 7 seater version. It's just amazing to drive on hour long highways and on muddy terrains. No complaints at all. Keep going Mahindra. Proud to be a Mahindra Scorpio-N owner.
Fully agree about the drive comfort and seating position. If have done a few trips of about 1000km in one go without any back issues. I had a back operation a few years ago and when driving the work Ranger(2017) or Hilux(2012) I feel discomfort after a 100km, but not in the Scorpio N.
Hi, lots of love from India, if you could review the upgraded suspension over the stock one, waiting for your video since you did the custom suspension modification..Cheers
Thanks Isaac, glad you found the information useful and enjoyed the visuals, I put a lot of time into making these episodes so I appreciate the support 😊
I really liked your review of ScorpioN, I too own the same ScorpioN 4x4 and it has performed amazingly in last 18 months. Liked the stance after tyre upgrade, the front bull bar and other enhancements. 👍
Mate, great job as always. Balanced, nuanced, direct, honest and open. With the addition of gorgeous B-roll, makes for a great watch. Keep up the great work!
You covered all the points in nice & simple way.. The Scorpio infact is a very capable vehicle we have in our hilly terrain here in Sikkim, India 🇮🇳 as well..
Well there you are. Thought you'd driven too far & fallen off the edge of the world somewhere. Barn door water leakage is very much a std annoyance. Good to see you back, love the Mahindra content, thankyou. Roothy gets a look in also, but neither of you have had much content of late.
👋 Hi mate, Yes I’m back! Been head down working hard filming for my clients. Haha I wish I was in some far place lost in the bush. Yeah Roothys semi retired now and having fun with motorbikes in his shed. I’m sure he’ll have more fun videos in the future
New subscriber.....from Arunachal pradesh India.. I also own a Mahindra Scorpio s11 since last 6 years and i have done Hundred and fifty one thousand on the odo.....and its still roars no major issues yet..... Very reliable....made to last
Thank you mate! Appreciate your support, going to film more travels soon :) Really good to hear you’re easily doing 150k. I’ll have to make sure I do a review around that odo for mine! I have no doubt it will make it
Great review, I have had the same issues as yourself especially the tyre wear, I bought mine as a demo which close to 10,000kms on the clock and I didn't notice the tyres till around 14/15,000 and it's an annoying issue, I will have to replace the tyres soonish which is a waste of money. Otherwise, the car has been great.
@@DanielSnare yeh I always get a wheel alignment with new tyres. The only downside is that the Scorpio is not that popular yet so not many accessories around. But great car.
That's a great review. I have the same model in 7 seat configuration and I have almost all the same observations as you. Any issues that this car has have to do with software or electronics. Mechanically it is as good as any out there. In India we get the Adrenox connectivity as well which is very helpful. The pickup concept it showcased in South Africa last year looked promising as well especially for a market like Australia.
Hey, Danie Mahindra just equipped scorpion n with Auto dimming irvm and ventilated seats, this was released a couple of months ago in india. Variants are- Z8, Z8select, Z8L in india. If they are planning to launch it in Australia, u should really ask ur dealer n get them installed on ur Scorpio n if u find it necessary
I still own the 2003 first model of scorpio, which is turbo charged, i been to 4wheel drive situation but never the 2wd suv got bogged or stuck, even though the acceleration is like a supercharged tractor, the top speed surprised me , extremely wavy like a boat but always gives the confidence it won't tip over if you corner at any speed, kinda fun. No ecu , no electronics, no features, just perfect and reliable.
Hey Daniel, we are very happy owners of a Scorpio Z 2023 bought in April this year. One thing we are still stumped with is there doesn’t appear to be any indication on the screen or any where in display panels of what the cooling/heating settings are. We just have to hit buttons and turn knobs and try to work out where airflow is coming from etc - hope this makes sense? Even our dealer got the guys in workshop to check out and nothing either? Cheers Sue and Trish
Ah yes, Z8L has a cooling settings page on the screen but Z8 doesn’t. Give your dealer a call but as I think there is a firmware update out that adds that page to the Z8’s
600k kms. man thats some Toyota level stuff. Mahindra has come a long way. I hope they launch more big vehicles in the near future. Xuv 900 is in progress as per the leaks. i hope it comes out soon.
The software update for the hill hold has been fixed with the latest software update and any issues related to the infotainment system. However, I haven't heard about any updates regarding turning off the start stop system yet. Another flaw I would like to point out, with the stop start system disengaged, if you're at a stop light and use the button to turn off the car, the bloody door unlocks.
Hey mate, I have a Runva 13,000 pound winch bolted into the bull bar. On the end of the rope is a MaxTrax Soft Shackle rather than the hook that it comes with
Madhindra is well known and reliable Indian Brand. The only cocern I see here in Australia is the ANCAP rating. That worries me and also hits the saftey factor and resale value of the car.
Can’t talk to resale but I’ve done a heap of research on the ANCAP report, for occupant safety it did extremely well, it just didn’t have the new safety software for keeping you in a lane etc. (which is what they base the number off now). That tech wasn’t in my previous vehicle so I still drive like I’m suppose to do all the work, and the people I know who have that new tech say it never works and they turn it off immediately. So not really a thing in my mind, just ANCAP making an example of a vehicle that doesn’t have cutting edge technology
Hey there, just discovered your channel on my For You page. Lovely mods you’ve got on the Scorpio N. Really love them :) I hope you have a great time building it up to its peak as time goes. Cheers.
Good question. Ryebuck are working on a design for a rear bar however I don’t think it will be ready this year. I do love my setup at the moment however :)
@@DanielSnare oh, so the current Scorpio is a 6 seater already? I must have missed that if that’s the case. We are a family of four but sometimes want to take grandparents with us for a trip … wonder how spacious is the third row?
Once you start driving Mahindra I’m sure you will question yourself is Toyota reliable like Mahindra 😂 Ask any Indian who love to drive at extreme conditions I’m sure he will choose Mahindra Scorpio not any Toyota
@@DanielSnare before 2020 Toyota used to sell most reliable vehicles but now Toyota following European car polices internationally design to go more and workshop
Not great, just like a lot of vehicles on the road without the latest safety computers. Looked into the report and it did very well for occupant safety with makes me happy, as safety tech doesn’t help you if you’re rear ended or t-boned. Happy to know me and family are safe
@@DanielSnare he is just a hater, dont listen to him. I agree that Tata cars are really unreliable and they have multiple issues with electronics and fit and finishing issues. On the other hand Mahindras are really reliable workhorses. I dont understand how they generalize Tata and Mahindra as if they are the same companies. And yeah I own a Scorpio Classic which is basically the Mahindra PikUp as a SUV and also a Mahindra Bolero which is not available in Australia.
😂😂😂😂😂 just you can't offered don't means chapri [ a bunch of people with over styling hairstyle and taste] general indian attitude with Mahindra is a comparison to foreign brands always foreign brand are given priority above the native car brand that common scorpio classic 6500 units per month Scorpio N 6700 units per month Sales don't just s..ht around like teen brat 😂😂😂😂
@@viridiantellus5665 yeah not something I do and the firmware update will fix this but go the person who came up with this idea. Definitely fixes the issue in the interim
Straight forward and honest review , moreover i appreciate that you have replied to each and every comment:) If possible invest more time on youtube, we inidans are eager to watch videos on mahindra
Thank you mate, appreciate you noticing :) I’ve put together a plan to release something every fortnight for the rest of the year. Hard job but with work
If you will see long term review of this car from Indian yt channel they will count you a list of issues in car, while a Australian person can't tell atleast 1 deal breaker thing where standards are higher that India LOL NOTE- no hate to u
Definitely sounds nice. Not super loud as the DPF is still like a muffler. I don’t think performance wise it does much as the DPF is a massive restriction and someone told me the computer would adjust to the new flow. Could be wrong but
Aree mahindra other countries sell their vehicles costly in India You should also do the same After all u have done nice r&d deep down to make it good to go for road conditions It is just a suggestion
I purchased one as well and absolutely love it. However, I do have one concern. The car lacks selectable drive modes like Comfort or Sport, and there's no button under the accelerator to manually drop a gear for overtaking. This can make overtaking stressful at times, as the car isn’t the fastest out there. Sometimes it will drop a gear automatically, but other times it won't, which adds to the unpredictability. I have the 4x4 version, and I find it odd that while the 2x4 version includes Zip/Zap/Zop drive modes, the Z8L does not. This I tend to find very strange and annoying but besides that the car is AWESOME. If the hybrid version comes out with a little more juice I promise I will be one of the first in line to buy it.
@DanielSnare ok fair enough! I will give that a try! Best regards and thanks for the videos. I also have the green one. I am going to do a full Chrome delete using plastidip. Should come out looking amazing!
Not really. Scored very well in occupant safety just didn’t have the latest tech software for lane keep assist etc which is solely how they judge the number now. That new tech isn’t going to help you in a T-Bone or rear ending so prefer my family stays safe in occupant safety. I also make sure I’m not distracted with my phone or drive tied
I recently installed a Tough Dog suspension 40 mm lift kit in my Scorpio N in India, Ground clearance-wise there is very minimal change even Not noticeable when u park two Scorpio N side by side. Is there any setting by which height can be adjusted? Tough Dog suspension here in India is way too costly and in return, you get no noticeable increase in vehicle height or ground clearance. Please guide!!! 🙏
That’s very odd, mine is 40mm taller after the lift and I’ve parked next to a stock one and it was taller (not heaps but as 4cm isn’t a lot on a ruler)
Before this I had a Mitsubishi triton (Ute) and of course the Scorpio is way better but that’s not really a fair comparison. I’ve also driven a Jeep Grand Cherokee for work which is nice but I prefer the Scorpio N more
