Man my mother played this cassette every Sunday. I heard and have been a fan of the Winans all my life. There are tons of songs I could name my favorites
THANK YOU!!! I remember hearing this version of this song a million time as a child riding with my parents. It’s been a thorn in my side not know where to find it! I’m 44 now and hear my mother in the kitchen singing it today!! I broke my leg running to RU-vid!!!
We recently lost Shawn McClamore Who is featured on lead vocals with Debra Winans around ‘89’ or so on this Winans brothers classic. Wikipedia states that he started his music career in 1997, but in fact, Shawn had been singing and recording professionally many years before. Rest in heaven, one of the unsung all-around greats.
I imitated the Winans as I wanted so dearly to be a gospel artist. This was my first gospel music purchase. My brother played the Winans ever weekend. I found out about Ron Winans in college when a street vendor recommended it in Brooklyn NY. Thanks brother, wherever and whoever you are.
I've been searching and searching for this album EVERYWHERE! It brings back so many memories. My mom used to play the cassette every morning when she took me to school. 7th grade, 1998...
Shawn McLemore transitioned today, 10/9/21. He’s gone from work to reward. He stewarded a great spirit. Always grateful and willing to service, bless, and minister. This was the song that let me know, there was a Shawn McLemore on Earth. The times this song has strengthened and encouraged me is only known by THE LORD. Thank you for your faithfulness, it added value to my worth. Rest Well Shawn.
Wow. This song right here. I remember as a kid listening to the church choir singing this. They would sound so good and every time the sung it the entire church would break out in shout
Oh my goodness. I remember this version! I'm about to cry but my kids gonna look at me funny & then I have to give them a whooping so I'm gonna just sit right here.
I love this song, I have been always been a big Winans fan, but I heard this for the first time riding to church with my friend and I fell in love with it. Beautiful song
Wow I didn’t realize when this was made. I was ten. I remember my mom buying the tape. I literally would listen to this over and over again. Still remember the words!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽And I need it for now!!!!!!
i was so excited i stumbled onto this recordings tonight. someone gave me this casette 20 years ago knowing i was a big winans fan (i had bought all their albums). i played this casette to pieces and could'nt find another one. i'm in South Africa and that was 30 years ago. This recording was an absolute gem. Gospel music that encouraged you to '' hold on''. i was playing the whole album from start to finish and could'nt care less who wanted to sleep.. THANK YOU FOR POSTING - LOVE YOU.
I had this on cassette as well and of course it broke. I finally found the album, Ron Winans Family and Friends II via this website called Discogs. I paid about 20.00 for the album. here is their website: www.discogs.com they have a lot of rare, hard to find records and tapes.
"Gospel Nostalgia", graduation has concluded. My hats off to you for all of the Winans' posts you have provided. They were, besides the Holy Spirit, my help to get through my classes. Woke up this morning to wind down with this song. People of God, keep holdin' on. I am "ole skool" in a lot of ways, but this "ole skool" from my generation got me through the "new school". I pay homage this morning to Elder Ronald Winans and Family and Friends Volumes. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
