This was really important to me when it was new. It's a fundamental memory from growing up, now. Watching this again brings me right back- pretty strange and a little sad, I admit, to realize how time's gone by. Thank you, Adam Colton. I think I'm safe in saying that, like many others, you changed my life.
Man I totaly agree. I just came back from a boarding session with my 16yo cousin (me 26). The dervish Sama was my first good board after having a cheap ass jucker Hawaii. Didn't feel it cause I was to light for it. Worked my ass off in gastronomy and bought the tan tien. Man I ride that thing since 7 years now. But this video was the inspiring spark that let me fell in love with longboarding and I remembered it after returned home and here I am falling back on the memories I had since then.. Jeez I feel old now
I'm really not a huge fan of skateboarding, long boarding, snowboarding… really any kind of boarding. I think it's cool and all, but it's not, you know, really my thing. What is my thing is watching people who are so in love with what they do that it's breathtaking. I watched this video today in an online webinar I'm taking about videography and the instructor was talking about how the filmmaker loves his craft. That is completely apparent in this video, as is the passion for their long boarding that these guys have. They aren't boarding… They are dancing. Watch this video. It encourages and inspires me to pursue my passion as fully as those who were involved making this film obviously have. I hope it does the same for you.
we need more people like you, people who let people do what they love without bullshitting about it because youre not into it. in fact, youre the exact opposite. you understand those guys and their passion and are able to reflect that on your own passion for stuff that YOU like. youre amazing, remember that
I'm glad whoever edited this took an amazing song from an amazing artist, put it to an amazing sport/hobby, and put it to an amazing film. This video was 100% pure gold.
Whirling Dervish was one of the first longboarding videos I watched on youtube, while eagerly anticipating the arrival of my first longboard. To see the amount of progression in both the sport and community as a whole is truly awe inspiring. These vids are not only works of art, but just make me wanna get out and skate!
This song brings great memories back. I remember when I first watched this video it had less than 500 views. After watching it, the first thing I did was to pre-order the Dervish Sama, which I loved so much. Funny thing: I also started listening to Emancipator that I ended up going to one of his concerts :]
Never once do you think that a longboarding video will almost bring you to tears and make you ponder your existence and its relevance to the rest of the world. Then this comes along.
one of the most beautiful longboard vids i have ever seen. great riding, inspiring music, and awesome filming/editing. congrats to all of the ones who made this vid
The soul of longboard ... This is it. I'm so in love with it ! I'm never gonna stop to ride my board. Never. I swear in Colton. Longboard is my freedom. Thank you to grow up my passion again with this video.
I like how this video is showing the how versatile the new dervish sama is: -The guy in black=Dancing -Long Hair=Board tricks(shuvit, etc.) -Guy in blue shirt=sliding Great video showing that the sama can be used with many different styles:)
Filming = PERFECT. Really shows off longboarding and its beauty and the art form that goes along with it in the best way that it could've been presented. If there is any sports filmer out there that should be recognized, it's Adam Colton!
One of the most beautiful and inspiring videos ever. It makes me want to ride my Sama all day even if i'm not able at all at dancing, sliding or tricks.. but with time, practice and some blood on the ground, one day i'll be able too..
Finally a video that doesn't have dubstep it. i love this video so much, this really brought me back to what longboarding is all about. Thanks Loaded, you've done it again. Well done.
Nehme mal an du bist deutscher ?! Schon mal am Fichtelberg oder am großen Aber gewesen ?? soooo nice Das geilste dabei ist dass man die Spots im Sommer zum Carven und Sliden mitn LB nehmen kann und im Winter fürs SB :)
I just love the fact that the Sama was released world wide yesterday. I'm swedish and I have been shredding in two days now. It's truly an amazing board and i could not have asked for more. It was exactly what I was imagine it to be, or even better! Best regards from Sweden, you guys are fucking amazing!
this... this is longboarding. no skate tricks.. just pure amazing longboarding. i started longboarding, because it was something different then skate boarding, something new. more unique now i see guys doing varials and kick flips. this is true longboarding
.... not gonna lie, i come from a well off family, and i have a promising future. but when i see a video like i would gladly give everything i have for this type of life, you guys are amazing. please keep on making these vids so i can watch the life i wish i had
Beautiful board, beautiful scenery, very nice clips.... You know they're having fun. The Dervish Sama is my next board regardless if I've only been boarding for about a month now. I find longboarding to be a strong suit in my lifestyle and I absolutely love doing it whether I get sponsored or not, I'm only doing it because it puts my mind to ease and lets me have fun at the same time.
the aspect of dancing in this video is i think over looked.. these guys have some of the best dancing skills ive ever seen. Ari is one of my very favorite boarders. his flow is one i dont think ill ever come close to matching.
it's even more beautiful than i expected, a little bit of a pitty that we didn't see the adams but this is actually the most beautiful video atm. so thanks adams for filming and sharing this and bringing back this part of longboarding, even if I also like slides and stuff
Adam i must agree with what most people are saying i LOVED your earlier videos. Whirling dervish, convinced me to buy a dervish, and a camera. Now A decent longboarder but an even better photographer i hope to follow a path close to yours and make these beautiful works of art someday. Most likely about cars but still.
Ari (dude in the black shirt) is like a figure-skateboarder. Definitely some of the most impressive and artistic dancing I've seen. Props to all 3 riders and their expertly executed styles of riding. Overall a great video.
Just wanted to say congratulations on 0 dislikes. think about that, over 500,000 people have watched this video and not even 1 dislike! Really goes to show how great of a video this is! Great job loaded!
Mr. Colton! You are more than a excellent rider! you became a filmmaker! Congratulations to all of you guys! Very good job! When I grow up I want to be like you guys! =) Best regards from Barcelona, Spain! Peace!
Amazing beautiful video. I can't stop watching it again and again. Beautiful photography, great skateboarders, awesome music. Congratulations on doing such magnificent work that inspire us and make us enjoy art. The guy with the black shirt is so good !!!!
This is insane, like im addicted to watching this because i know that every time i watch this there is something thats going to catch my attention and be like whaaaaatt? this is the life:3
far out, this is a fantastic video- skatingwise and filmwise!- the sunset shots especially, but ahh... so good! if you don't look at Ari's feet you'd think he was skating on ice... incredibly smooth!
This is very much, probably, most definitely, the best montage i've ever seen on youtube.. Bravo guys, applause to the boarders and also to the producers, awesome vid man
This is why love longboarding. Its relatively a 'new' sport. And by that, i only mean that it has only recently been growing and progressing. The beauty of that is that, there is so many things you could explore with a longboard. For instance, today you feel like going fast, then go down hill. The next day you feel a lil bit 'tricksy' do some freestyle. And on other days you feel like cruising? Go for it. And when it comes to tricks, its still a growing sport. Give it more time and more tricks
Just got mine today i love it. Going from a tan tien to the sama was a great choice. I also upgraded with baluts and man do they feel good. I have a lot more control on my slides and the board carves sooooooo good.
Exactly, longboarding isn't about how fast you can go, how far you can slide, how good your stats are, its about the flow of it, the style and fun you have whilest doing it. I didn't start longboarding because I wanted to be the best, I started because its fun, and the flow of longboarding. Sometimes I think people forget that its not about competition.
