Like many of you, it was this beautiful 240p video that made me buy a longboard. The freedom, the fluidity and the plain fun of it all was what kept me inspired and hooked. No competition, no pressure to go as fast as you can, no restrictions what you can and can't do. Sliding long and going fast is great, but there's never gonna be anything like the whirling dervish spirit. I love you Adam Squared, you guys are my heroes.
As I went to write my comment, I saw you had already written exactly what I was feeling. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that was so impacted by Adam^2
Nate Punzalan I couldn’t have put it better myself, this was the first longboard I ever purchased back so many years ago. Because of this video i fell in love with longbording and the beauty of it:) coming back and watching this video almost 9 years later has brought me heaps of joy!
I startet with a santa Cruz board that my father actualy bought for himself after some Years i saw this board and i got it this awesome board made my what i am today
Loaded... Please do a remake of this vid. Same boards, same riders, same roads. I would love to see a Whirling Dervish 2.0. My account is like so many below here in the comments. This was the video that started it all for me. Bought a Vanguard and everything. Thank you for all you have given to the community! Adams for life!
I'd love to see a remake but with the Sama. To be honest I wasn't all that impressed with the Swirling Sama video, still a good video, but no where near the same caliber as this
StarFox69 everyone! Read whoisadamcolton. Com / bio It explains why Adam doesn't skate anymore and how he became a skater, it's not only inspiring but it does explain why Adam c doesn't skate anymore. It's a shame that Adam doesn't skate but those two were the best dancers and we should appreciate their contribution to the sport :D
Wow. Looking back in 2021. This video inspired a whole generation of longboarders, myself included, and was the basically genesis of dancing, freestyle, and free riding.
13 years later, A young budding Longboarder from Pretoria, South Africa just watched this and cried. Hands down the most beautiful and awe-inspiring video about Longboarding that I have had the honour of watching. Thank you
From cape town bru, hey. good to see a fellow brother here! been skating/ i mean longboarding...whatever, for 6 years. come to cape town if u ever want too skate man, peace
Coming back here after 13 years and reading these comments brought me tears of joy, I can't believe so many others had the same experience as me from this video. Thank you Loaded for inspiring so many to get out there and conquer the hills.
Bought a dervish in 2011 after watching this vid. Can’t tell you how many unforgettable experiences I had with it as a junior in high school. This thing ferried my car-less butt to and from home, local landmarks, school, school dances, girls houses (lol), the beach, really just the best tempo to enjoy life at at that age for me. I still have it, cracked nose and tail and all. Wish the originals were still made.
2024 checking in! The music, the landscape, the flow, it's still so good. Adam and Adam painted this picture of a mystical land of green hills and sunshine and endless smooth pavement. See you all again when I stumble upon this in another 10 years.
The tune is the sound of my heartbeat since 08' when I first started my board collection. The Sector 9 "Cloud 9", the Loaded "Dancer", "Dervish" and "Vanguard", all the wheels I've bought including the amazing 97mm Abec 11's that I never thought I'd have. Some people have weed, others alcohol, but this is what I'm about.
I first saw this ten years ago and I come back ever so often as life changes, people come and go but cruisin' on my longboard has remained constant. Makes me hella nostalgic. Much love from Cape Town, South Africa 🤙🏾
Finally found this video again! Just recently got my boards out again to ride with my kids. 35+ year difference in our ages, but we’re the same when we’re just enjoying the surf. Thx guys!
Who knows where longboarding would be if it weren't for Adam and Adam... But we do know where its at because of them. Thank you for the inspiration, evolution, and the pure joy.
14 years later, i'm still here. You both made my friend and I buy this 14 years ago. We didn't have much money, basically we had money to afford orangatang wheels.. Hahahahaha ABEC 11 bearing.. and that's it.. thank you again for this wonderful video.
Adam and Adam will always have a special place in my heart for the way they inspired me and my friends. Longboarding connects all of us here, friends. Keep pushing
I remember seeing this video that month i bought this board... I definitely wish i still had it 😢 brings back so many memories 💯 ofcourse i still rock with loaded... Thank you guys for being an amazing company... With the best boards ever made 💯
I found this video when I was younger and it truly changed my life! My love for snowboarding led me to seek a way to train and have that same sensation during the warmer months. I saved up and finally bought a Loaded Vanguard, a board I still ride each and every day! Thank you both Adams for making this piece of art!
This is the video that convinced me to stop riding a pintail and took me to the next level in the mountains of PA as a kid. Love it for ever! Thank you for keeping the vid and letting the good memories come back !!!
i still remember the first time i walked into that one store in the next big city for the first and spotted some longboards. I had some really cheap noisemakers passed on to me and i rode the hell out of them but i was instantly fascinated by the smoothness and how easy these were to push. i kept returning everytime my parents took me there and tried new boards whenever their display changed until about half a year later they had a dervish in stock and at that moment i just felt that thiswas the one for me. So i managed to convince my parents to greenlight this although "I already had one" and this thing was more expensive than my bike at the time, in fact this thing was probably the most expensive in my posession at the time, but i thinnk the fact that i was obbsessing about getting one for a while was proof enough it wouldnt go to waste. the staff was super chill too and they gave me a little discounnt and i paid in part with my parennts money and more thann half with my own and have been riding it to this day and its my favourite means of commuting or just going out and have fun. so inspired by all the other comments: this is the story how i got my dervish before i ever knew about your brand or the community associated with it and i must say it was probably one of the best purchases i ever made.
Adam and Adam made longboarding cool. Hands down. As someone who started skating when I was 5 I always thought longboarding was for losers who had no skill. Then they came along and showed what you could do with skill. My former experience made it easy to pick up and changed my overall riding. I love those dudes for making such an impact in my life. Longboarding was such a huge focal point of my life for years. So many good memories made all thanks to these dudes
Mum bought a longboard for me years ago. I had no idea what it was until I googled it and found you guys and this video. I used to skate for ages to the best hills in my area and rode them all day long, bombing them, sliding, carving, dancing along the flats. The vibes out there were something else, but these vids you guys made inspired me to be better at it every day and earn those memories. Thanks, Loaded crew. I couldn't have done it without you 👍
I was a freshman in college (2009) when I first saw this and learned to ride. Now I'm a husband and a father. I guess I will wait for my kids to start riding so I can surprise them that their dad wasn't always lame.
Oh man, I cannot believe this video is 10 years old. I remember watching this in college. Bought me a longboard right after and never looked back. You guys really out did yourselves with this one here. Its a gem. Stay awesome and skate hard. Cheers! ^^
Seriously.. all of you guys' videos makes me wanna buy whatever you've got for sale, everything is just perfect, the landscapes, the boards, the tricks, the music, best video's i've ever seen, honestly.
Was looking to show this video to a friend last night, big fan of it. Typed in whirling longboards and nothing came up, then today I was like WAIT, ITS Whirling DERVISH! Cheers.
Almost 12 years later and this is still the best thing on RU-vid. Please never take this video down. If at some point, maybe thousands of years from now, society collapses and humans go extinct this is how I want us to be remembered.
I saw this video for the first time a year and a half ago. I was mesmerized. And once I saw "Let Go," there was no turning back. I was in love with longboarding. The simple tranquility of the thing struck me like nothing ever had before. I have to thank you, Loaded, the longboarding community would be at least one less without you.
Damn. Nostalgia. I remember my first Vanguard, Dervish and Tan Tien. Skate sessions all around Victoria, BC. Me and my best pal living in a house not far off campus just skating around loving it. Awesome.
Just bought a dervish. Was curious about the board as it was cheap secondhand and I enjoyed the way it rides. I'm glad to say I'll be here mentally every time I ride it now.
This video made me buy my Loaded Dervish too. So beautifully dreamy, and I love the memories! It's 13 years old now! The board was definitely a good buy too, it's still mine.
I respect them so much more for showing that end part where they mess up. They made the video perfect, looking like they were flawless. But we all know better. And bloopers are always funny. Awesome video.
This video is the reason i got into longboarding, starting with learning basic 180 body varials, cross stepping, and tiger claws on my 47' Gravity HyperCarve, then got the upgrade to the Loaded Dervish, now pulling off slides, peter panning, and working on combos. THANKS ADAM and ADAM! YOUR MY HEROS!!
Somehow made it back here, and the music brought me back 10 years ago watching this in my first bedroom to myself - a freshman in highschool - how fast time goes 🥲 time well spent… I tallied over 100 miles on my dervish with the signature adam colton trucks. Spent every penny on that board, and it arrived in winter where I could only ride it inside and on areas of concrete where it had thawed… much love, loaded adam and adam. Edit: In 2021 I still ride my dervish with adam colton signature trucks.
And again this video made me get (more) into boarding and progress. +Crunchie made me get into skating, aswell as my stoner "friends" i had back at my dads. +Peter Kell helped me with picking out and making me actually understand skating more. Adam helped me get more confident and into more tricks. Thanks Loaded also again..
Loaded Boards surely it was recorded in better quality and this was just the era of low def RU-vid? I’d pay to see this in all its 480p ish or better glory.
That was incredible!!! I'm floored! It was like graceful asphalt surfing. Very Boss. I wish everyday of my life was as smooth sailing as this video! Very inspiring - Bravo!
i dont think ive seen a better longboarding video. this is without a doubt one of the two videos that inspired me to start longboarding. the other is let go. also, the name of the song is "jam balls"- begin. its not on itunes but you can get it off the internet. i have it on replay whenever i longboard. its the perfect song
